I’m primarily an artist, though currently studying biology. Self-expression is crucial to me, yet it often feels constrained in the medical field. Despite maintaining a 3.7 GPA and gaining extensive experience, I’m concerned about potential issues with my visible tattoos. Could you offer any advice?
This is so much motivation sometimes I wanna cry studying when I can’t attended certain events but then when I remember my why it all goes out the window 📚
Can I mention my add Dx sophomore year of college? My parents thought I wasn’t applying myself and I was lazy bc they never wanted to label me as a child with a mental condition. I was thinking of tying that into de stigmatizing mental health and making parents aware of a truly life changing Dx. I then go on to talk about my upward trend in gpa.
Hi Savanna, I have a question!! I got a C in A&P I but an A in A&P II. Should I retake the first series? The first time I took part 1, I had personal struggles going on in my life. But I am a strong student otherwise with majority As in all my other prereqs. Is this a deal breaker? Should I still try and retake it?
I’m on a similar boat to how you pursued your journey ( except I started with wanting nursing switching over to public health>PA) Just recently stumbled upon your channel and love the insight. Just for some context: High school , Military, CNA and then a degree in Pub Health. I’m excited to start the PA program, just taking the next proper steps. Thank you for this video you earned a like and sub 😁
please guide for international students i have done graduation from india. i do have anatomy physiology biochemestry i am eligible for caspa application?
Great, how about online classes? are they acceptable? I’m considering applying for PA school next year and I have taken few prerequisites classes online, I don’t know whether I will have to retake them in person before I apply. Would you enlighten me on this topic, Thanks.
This is so inspiring! I am in the same situation, 30 years old. I work full time and I am trying to figure it out how to take the pre requisites while working.
I have a friend that runs a lab and she just has a BS in Bio. It’s about where you live if you don’t plan to go to med school or teach or who you know. If you near South Carolina, I could hook you up 😊
This was an incredible interview! Thank you so much for sharing! I totally related to stating at those supplemental essays! I’m definitely overthinking some things! Congratulations Nicole!
Hi Savannah! Thank you so much for having me! This interview was a while ago but I just happened to stumble across it now. I just completed my first year of PA school!
Thank you for your help. I don't feel confident at all and I am so scared. I don't know if I can do this. I want to believe I can but I just don't feel like I'm good enough
What do you mean by "do" surgery? Perform or assist? There are many surgical PAs whose sole job is to assist in surgeries and monitor patients in the hospital pre- and post- operatively.
I think PA's and NP's are very helpful but I should know at scheduling that I am being scheduled with the PA and not the Dr. I'm paying for a doctor and their level of expertise. I find it rude when a doctor misleads the patient that their follow-up appointment will be with them, but when the appointment reminder is sent out, it says my appointment is with a PA. I find it rude and makes me feel that the doctor doesn't care about my care.
I'm a bit confused about what I need to do. In 2023, I requested for my transcripts to be sent to CASPA. CASPA just opened 2 days ago, and I've taken more class since then. Do I just continue adding to the Transcript Entry section? Do I have to request for an updated transcript to be sent to CASPA? Also, I have a single class left to take online at a different institution. I don't take that until Fall 2024, how does that work if I want to apply now?
