In this video, Savanna provides an overview and guidance on the newly introduced 'Life Experiences Essay' in the CASPA application for PA school candidates.
The essay aims to allow applicants to share their unique life experiences and perspectives, particularly in overcoming challenges or adversities, and how these can contribute to the PA profession and reflect the diversity of the population.
Savanna encourages applicants to think deeply about their unique contributions and perspectives, highlighting that this essay is a chance to provide a more holistic view of their candidacy.
She also offers advice on approaching the essay, including how to distinguish it from the personal statement and supplemental essays, and the potential impact it could have on admissions decisions.

Thank you for your help. I don't feel confident at all and I am so scared. I don't know if I can do this. I want to believe I can but I just don't feel like I'm good enough

Can I mention my add Dx sophomore year of college? My parents thought I wasn’t applying myself and I was lazy bc they never wanted to label me as a child with a mental condition. I was thinking of tying that into de stigmatizing mental health and making parents aware of a truly life changing Dx. I then go on to talk about my upward trend in gpa.
