Hey mate! Great review. I just bought some land, and about to build my own place. Im a tradie, and pretty handy, but never done earth works before, only on the shovel when i was an apprentice. Reckon i could get away with doing my site prep and dig my footings with a machine this small (1t)? Its flat land. Id use it around the block for other little projects too.
If you have not used one before it may take you 3 x longer than someone that does it every day, I would think it would be fine digging footings as long as you dont come accross an immovable rock, then you would need to hire a bigger machine with a rock braker on it. but the odds are pretty good ( I have not come across this on a flat block myself yet)
@DamianCandetti yeah I am guessing it will take a bit for me to get use to, but that's all g if it takes me a bit longer. Site works will likely cost me 10-15k anyway. I'll have to dig a septic too, so that's a saving. Yeah shouldn't be rocky, it's all sand, and I can get a friend with some bigger gear to help, I'd just prefer not to rely on others. How are these things on the diesel? What are you burning through in a day? Thanks again brother. Just subbed.
I realise I missed that part of the recording thanks. I would recommend drilling a separate hole for the wires though, dont try and put them through the exhaust outlet.
Great vid Damian. Trying to get my bearings...The fabulous black and white photograph at the 40 second mark: are we looking north over the Murumbidgee, or south over Worley's Creek please? The rail bridge must be kept! It is very special.
it is looking across the Murrambidgee River, then there is a left hand turn that now goes down to the caravan park but if you follow it onward it shows over the flood plains that are now paddocks with everything from the left hand turn onward now demolished.
Hey Damian, awesome looking court! We're currently looking to build a court on our property and I wanted to get your feed back on the dimensions. Do you know your spacing around the court? Now that you've had it for a few years, how often has the tight barriers been an annoyance?
I would definitely go for the maximum run off for the sides. I think 1.5m each side from memory. ours is great for singles and tight for doubles as it can be a bit tight on the fence side
hi , great vid , just wondering have u ever heard of the controller settings access fail , ? i cannot get into the settings to adjust fuel/hrz rpm etc , maybe this is a cheap generic controller (comes with heater) that hasn't got that feature > thanks ( mine has a cog symbol not wrench) cheers
As a heavy diesel mechanic who has worked on excavators for 15 years, I can honestly say they look like many Conor’s have been cut for cost cutting when being engineered. Cheap and nasty in my opinion and you literally pay for what you get.
If they could build to identical spec to the expensive machines then the expensive ones would go out of business. only makes sense that the cheaper excavators have "corners cut" and that you get what you pay for.
We have installed the same heater to our new snowy by your installation. Our is blowing a lot of smoke. Did yours do that if so how many times. We are on our third go. 😢thank you your help
Awesome, how soon after you hitch your 2.5T caravan will you need to find a working charger and wait while it charges before you have to do that again? Lets not kid ourselves no current batteries are up to running heavy, non aerodynamic cars. This is a totally impractical development by Kia.
on the contrary I have towed my 1.5 ton boat with my Tesla and EVs do an amazing job towing. I agree that with a caravan in tow it wont get much more than 200k range but things are fast evolving
@@DamianCandetti I agree about how well it tows, (Electric motors are absolutely the bees knees) but the distance even with big batteries is very compromised while towing and our charging infrastructure here in Oz is almost non existent and when you do find a charge point it's occupied or doesn't work.
@@stephenhutchinson5434 No I haven't Stephen. I just expect an EV to tow magnificently due to its torque characteristics.Range will be the major issue.
wonderful. My husband's had a tennis court at his family home growing up in Sydney. But sadly, its an unimaginable luxury for anyone to have that kind of space in a major city these days.
Hire rates at $400 a day ? You mean rental rates . Hire is when you get an operator person to operate the equipment for you. A hire car is originally a version of taxi . Today , hire gets used as synonym for rental . I learnt about wet n dry hire the other day , very funny . I previously knew about wet or dry clutches though . Do you think you gotta spell out that you ain't received any inducements to say only nice stuff about the machine? Yammie Noob was offered a free bike Venom 250cc bike to evaluate and keep. It later eventuated that he was expected to convey an overall positive tone about the bike . He thus declined and decided to buy a bike to evaluate and it's quite a picture he gives us about it.
Hi Philip, I am not sure what you are referring to with the inducements but if you are asking if I was paid or given the machine, no I purchased it at full cost with no benefits besides the extra auger that they threw in with the sale with no knowledge of the fact I make videos. Hope this clears it up. Thanks, Damian
I think you may have problems with long term running, sooting etc. The exhaust should only be max of 2m. This is standard with Eberspacher, Webasto and Chinese Diesel Heaters. How does it run, you did not show that.
It runs great, better than any other I have had. The sooting is a potential problem but with the fact the caravan gets towed at 100kph I would think it would get blown out every now and then. ill update you in another 6 months or so
Thanks for the vid Just got mine delivered and will follow your vid just need to buy hole sores Will try the short exhaust and any smell I'll change to longer
Great Vid Damian. I did an install a couple of weeks ago. I have one issue I need to attend to - I have a very slow Diesel seep from the connection in the fuel tank - a bugger really as I was conscious about getting a good seal. So, I have to drain the tank and revisit the connection. Have you any ideas on getting a better seal the second time around? Obviously, I will need new Orings, but I was thinking of ways to add a better seal. Have you got any ideas? Cheers Rob
ah, bugger. these small details can be a pain in the arse. If the hole is the right size I would try just tightening the nut by holding the nipple with some pliers, if that does not work then yes a fatter O ring should do the job. good luck!
These are really quite ingenious. What are the internal dimensions? I'm trying to visualize how so much fits in such a small space, but not sure of the bath and kitchen space allotments, ect. Amazing what we can come up with when we put our minds to it. Also, what is the width of the slide out? Thanks for any help in measurements. Nice video.
Thanks for the insight into installing the diesel heater into the srt. We are early awaiting ours. Just wondering where you picked up power from Cheers D
just buy a 1500w kit, 20AH battery and a $200 mtb, then you will have something that will destroy this bike for the same price, and will be better quality.
Dometic is a American company that bought out Air Commander. Air Commander stuff were let go when Dometice ship manufacturering over to China. The old Air Commander staff started Houghton Air Conditioning. Buy Australian
You can get a 360 Camera, but its an optional extra. Don't think it's that expensive either, much cheaper than the panoramic roof that's specced on the demo you had!
You are my Hero Damian. That job looks so risky with a small jolty machine like that, great work. You pulled it off, obviously you have a strong positive mind set.✅
Kogan purchased the Dick Smith name when the original company stores went toe’s up. Dick Smith is just online guessing using Kogan delivery system and stock.
It really depends on speeds, so many people ask this question and drive at 90kph everywhere. in the SR22-F I would say anywhere from 18LPH at 80kph to 24 LPH doing 115kph. In the SRT22-F as its taller and has a longer draw bar I found it to be much higher until I filled in the draw bar to reduce the air flow from dumping behind the car and under the caravan. There is definitley a big difference when you go to the off road version but thats what happens with all cars and trailers. Once I did the draw bar infil I would guess the fuel to be around 22LPH at 80 and around 29LPH at 115KPH real world using GPS speeds, or in your case of the PATROL Y62 add 7KPH to my figures above
