Honestly when I get the chance I definitely need to buy the full version, the trial version is pretty nice considering what you get, plus is gives newcomers the opportunity to test out the features. Where was this all my life, I genuinely want to cry- 😭
@@OliverCooper-qg6yc you can feel free to send in a help ticket with the collected project file and I'll take a look. That being said, Composite Brush is just a plugin so it can't change how After Effects outputs. At least that shouldn't happen. Whatever you see in the comp is exactly what should export. Maybe try the same footage and use a different keyer like extract to see if the color change happens. Also, keep in mind your background color should be black for whatever composition you render with alpha.
Just upgraded. Best tracking tool in the world. Bar none. Totally worth it. Also best customer service ever. Mr. Vranos helped me track something around a face once. Still grateful. Thanks!
This is a very dumb question, but when I begin a track like you do at the start of the tutorial, I'm not getting the tracker keyframes to show up in the bottom of my timeline... Is there a setting to turn this on/off? Thanks!
@@ZackEisenfeld actually, if you can believe it, I had the same question about a month ago and laughed about forgetting how my own software works. The bar is contextual. You must have a point selected to see its key frames!
Hey Vranos, Thanks for a fantastic app, its blowing my mind getting into it and re-living times I wish i had this (or had bought it sooner). When I did get to purchasing it that kind of work stopped, but now I have an Everestt of a project and not sure how to "pack for the climb" > ensure my footage/comps are setup for success. Whats the max length of clip you'd recommend to work with. Im currently tasked with having to replace a print/logo on a shirt due with nothing or another logo. The production is a 2 camera interview with 2-3hrs each. The boss is telling me to track and replace the whole shoot so we can make future edits and not have to worry about tracking/replacing then (whenever the edit is done). But there are multiple instances his hand or body/shirt obscure the print/logo which will require a bit of manual intervention to work around it (turning into untrackable points etc).
@Interloper_32388 that's odd, at what point is it crashing? Just from tracking, or when you press Lockdown or somewhere else? If possible, could you send a crash log? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-m-B1FXWh-jM.htmlsi=bYYSZXdAB6ctkwOG The only reasonable crash I could think of would be if you're computer is entirely out of resources, but I'd imagine one point on any resolution of footage wouldn't be so heavy. Maybe try disabling the tracking cache just out of curiosity. If you're able to send any of the footage through a help ticket, im glad to examine the stability.
@@ChrisVranos Thanks for responding! I think your correct its probably due to the resolution and draining my machine. I have a M1 Studio Ultra with only 64gb of ram (should have maxed it out). Im working with 4k resolution braw clips and have been setting the method to full resolution. Currently onboarding the crop resolution and it seems to be working so far. Will try disabling cache as well back on the full (non cropped attempts) Ill collect some screenshots and see about generating a log file and submit for reference. The crashes are random and is my mac telling me to force quit apps due to no ram. AE showing like 100+gb of ram of use. So not sure if crash log will pick it up.
@@Interloper_32388 i wonder if you can play with the ram allocation settings in Ae and it'll make a difference. Strange as this sounds, maybe reserving less RAM for Ae will leave more for Lockdown. There is a known memory leak in Ae that has been there a few years. It crashes when projects get RAM heavy even without Lockdown. I haven't exactly been able to figure it out though. I'm glad to take a look, although the short term solution is what you said: reducing the amount of resources used.
I have a question. I am trying the free version and I am getting lines on my footage from the grid. Are you supposed to turn it off somewhere? Or is it a limitation of the software? :) Kind Regards from Denmark Jørgen
The free version lets you export null objects using the "3d nulls to Ae" button. There's a tutorial on the homepage showing which features are included in the free version, and how to create and export nulls. The mesh rendering is part of the paid version, and is covered by a watermark grid in the free version.
*Thanks Christopher!* I have followed all your tutorials since the first one a long time ago. *Great* ideal compiling them here. ... *Cheers😊IcloneFun🤗*
@ChrisVranos i have greenscreen footage. No hair or anything, im bald. Im trying the trial version. The plug-in does pretty well, but i get a white edge surrounding my entire body. I can get it to look good by increasing the choke a couple pixels. But then my fingers start getting cut off. The more I mess with the settings, the worse it looks
@@VegasEducation you can send in a help ticket if you'd like me to take a look when I can. That sounds like a sharpening artifact in the footage. Many cameras will sharpen the footage automatically and this is bad for keying. This is going to be visible with any keyer. When you sharpen footage, you'll have a dark green screen and perhaps a slightly lighter skin tone. Then the sharpening algorithm will make that edge very bright along the skin, and very dark along the green screen. This can be difficult to deal with for any color based keyer because that edge was not really in the scene when it was shot, its a newly introduced color. There's not always a good answer. It's best to shoot with a camera that doesn't add sharpening. That's my best guess, but I'd be glad to take a look
Hey, I'm sorry to say you're not supposed to be able to see that. The Cuda drivers are still in development, we accidentally left the UI part visible in our last release. I guess this counts as the announcement? We will make a formal video with the drivers available for download soon. Sorry for the confusion.
The trial version is the free version. The trial version lets you create null objects and export them to Ae for free, which is a new feature we didn't offer in the trial before.
heya Chris. so im not seeing V3 on my AE scripts app downloader. is this a manual download for 3.0? not sure where to access it. thanks so much and lockdown has saved my life more than a few times. keep up the good work. oh and im using the OFX for resolve (sorry forgot to mention that
would this method be able to use Element 3D or do we have to use C4D for 3d objects? I just got Lockdown and I'm trying to learn everything but I'm not very familiar with C4D
You could export a null object to the ae timeline and use that with element. But there's no direct way to use the mesh Lockdown creates with Element. Lockdown also exports an Alembic which works in Blender.
