Huntin On The Rock, Newfies In The Yukon, and Macmillan Monsters series is a continuation of hunting experiences captured on film by myself, Deon Dicks. Huntin on the "Rock" has been a term we local Newfoundlanders are familiar with, it's simply a basic term that describes half of our amazing province Newfoundland, the other half being "the big land" Labrador. Hunting has been part of my family for as long as I can remember, moose is nothing new to me, I have seen 100's here in this great province I call home but while guiding in the Yukon for nearly 10 years now and seeing the size of these moose I can never explain to you with words, you really have to see them for yourself. However, these videos will give you some insight into just how big they really are. Enjoy
Dear Dion, your videos on moose hunting are the best on RU-vid, I've watched them all. The personal and charming way you tell the story of your videos makes it a treat to watch every time. Thank you, Sir.
The reason why I wouldn’t leave my moose up there during the night is because there are a good few coyotes in Newfoundland and they will smell that out pretty fast and have a feast.
I have been guiding for over 20 years and along with many of my guiding partners we have left many, many moose in the woods overnight and have never had an issue, but yes it is possible no doubt. Thanks for watching
Do you plan hunting trips for Elk out west? I have successfully hunted moose for many years, but I always wanted to try for Elk and/or whitetail and make Deer in the Western provinces/ territories.
Beautiful Plaque, and it makes it more special Because Both the wood and animal are from nature , ,great video , thank you for sharing love your videos ,
wow what a chase , But you got him, did you have him checked also to see if he was a hibrid, rater large for a coyote , and seemed heavier boned , your perserverence paid off congs.
Its sent in for study as is all larger coyotes but I did not request for the results to be returned to me. It was big one for sure. And a day I won't soon forget. Thanks again for watching!
awesome Deon, thanks for havving it tested , it lets a lot of people and hunters know that when a coyote looks bigger then normal their is a good reason, cross breeding , so we end up losing more fawns and deer, elk and moose , would not take long to have packs of them around , Hunters and trappers keep them under control . well done , nice trophy.
