We’ll show you how to travel on the cheap, and still have fun.
Hi, we’re Pam and John Kane, The Fun Chasers!
We like to travel, but we don’t like to go in debt to do it. Are you like us?
On this channel we always figure out a way, to get away. We look for the affordable attractions, the free fun and events. By doing this, we can travel more often, eat amazing food and bring the family along on our adventures.
We currently travel in the eastern half of the United States where we explore unique points of interest, great places to eat, local flavors, wineries and breweries, beautiful scenery, fairs and festivals, fun historical experiences, and help you find your reason to go.
We've been traveling with kids, grandkids and dogs for a really long time. Everyone has a different budget, so we do a lot of planning to find the most affordable attractions to visit while keeping it fun.

I won't ask your opinion of the up coming election in November but I'm pulling for Harris to be the first female president of the United States and what happened to Trump was sad and not surprised
Hey there Stephen. Great to hear from you. Work is crazy so I’m only posting every other week. Hope to be able to kick it up a notch soon. Thanks for always being there for us. I sure hope you’re doing well!
I’m betting you could contact the Blair county historical society. Their offices are actually in Baker Mansion. Just google Blair County Historical Society. Thanks for watching, we really appreciate it!
We haven't been up to Lake Erie (or any of the Great Lakes for that matter) and were just discussing how we need to plant a trip to see them in the next year or so. Lake Erie State Park looks like a lovely place to enjoy Lake Erie. Thanks for giving us a tour!
You are so very welcome! It really was beautiful! That was our first time there. We plan to go back. Thanks so much for watching. Really appreciate it!
Good morning from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 thanks for the presentation and better let someone else do the driving eh😂 dinosaur tigers and lions oh my from the wizard of Oz
If I remember correctly an article about the tunnel in Trains magazine - there was a traffic signal at the opening of the tunnel to let engineers know it was clear to proceed.
I did not know that! Thanks so much for letting me know. I’ll be sure to include it in the description. I appreciate the comment and thanks for watching. ☺️
Strasburg Railroad Thomas the Tank Engine (A.K.A Brooklyn Eastern District Terminal #15, built by the H.K. Porter Company in 1917) operating at Day out with Thomas event in 2024 at the Strasburg Railroad in Strasburg, Pennsylvania.
A first time video with you both in the car traveling greetings from southern Ontario I have a big feet and I'm 6'4 so I'm short for this make believe creature 😀
Been to Canada side because everyone says it has the more beautiful falls. It's true. Falls are very beautiful! Our hotel overlooked the falls, but not much to do after seeing them 🤷♀. Your video has really made me excited to go to US side. Thank you for great ideas. 👍
Did you think about a giant mountain being above you? Kinda creepy. Also, that water, was it just pouring down from the roof of the tunnel? I suspect that at some point the erosion will get the best of it and I wouldn't wanna be in there when that happens.
I was stationed at this Light Station in 1967 when Ed Sweet was there as the last Civilian light keeper in the USCG. Bill Sweeney BM1 lived in the second house and I lived in town and rented a room. Fog horns were very loud as were the compressors that supplied the air. Had to climb the tower every 3 or 4 hours to check the voltage to the light also polished the glass lens and brass, Ed was very, very particular. Also had three pendulum clocks to keep in sync for the radio beacon. Was beautiful duty that I probably did not appreciate at the time.
Oh my what a wonderful story - thank you so much for sharing. I don’t believe I have ever met someone who actually worked at a lighthouse. It always seemed like very hard duty. Thank you for your service!!
@@TheFunChasers It was not hard duty as much as lonely. I was stationed at two light stations in my USCG 4 years, also at the West Pierhead in Oswego NY. You had to be alert and watch the weather so you knew when to start the fog horns etc. They were not automated in the 60's where I was stationed. Also had to log the ships in and out of Oswego Harbor. I remember cold winters at Tibbetts Point with 60 below recorded (no wind chill factor) one cold night. I recall the water around my eyes freezing as I walked over to the light tower to check the voltage.
@@bighand1530 I have not been there in a very long time, early 1970's. I would like to go back and see it what it looks like now though. Was a rough place to be in the winter, but very beautiful. At the time I was stationed there they closed the channel to shiping when it froze solid in the winter months. We used to ride our cars across the ice to go to Canada for a day trip.
Thank you so much to watching. We just put up another video of Raystown Lake Attractions. Hope you like that one too and we really appreciate the comment!
Greetings from southern Ontario Canada I really enjoyed the video but I'm leaving Canada for a funeral in the 🇬🇧 however I will return asap as front line health care worker I will go the distance anywhere and give my respects ciao 😊
Trough Creek State Park looks like a lovely place to spend an afternoon. I do hate swinging bridges though - largely because I am always accompanied across them by someone trying to get the bridge swinging. The waterfalls are beautiful. Thanks for the tour!
We are in the middle of planning a trip to Hershey so I was glad to find this video. Thanks for showing us what your experience was like at Hershey’s Chocolate World. We subscribed to see where y’all go next!
I’m very happy to let you know the REAL K4 1361 steam locomotive is being restored to operation inside the roundhouse. So in the future, it will be a working steam locomotive again. Not only will it operate at the museum, it will travel across Pennsylvania for tours and excursions for the public. It’s a very exciting project.
We are super excited to hear about this. I can remember when it went past the crossing in Huntingdon - probably in the mid 1990's. I believe it was on it's way to restoration - wherever that was but then funds ran out or something like that. So this is wonderful news! Can't wait to see it in operation again!
Greetings from southern Ontario Canada I really enjoyed the video, swinging bridge easy peasy try the Capilano bridge in Vancouver bc it's way up high and moves back and forth without much help unless several dozen people are venturing across from either direction
Huntingdon County BBQ Bonanza really does have it all. BBQ, corn hole, classic car show/ cruise, live music, and demolition derby! May 17th and 18th, 2024.
