I agree that Dolle's salt water taffy is the best in OC....or anywhere really. But the BEST caramel popcorn is Fisher's. And the lighthouse is in / on Fenwick Island, Delaware, not OC, even though the mailing address is Ocean City. Weird, huh? And on your way into Assateague, there's a free visitor center before you cross the little bridge to Assateague. And there's usually a park ranger on site in the summer, and they'll allow kids hands on access to some of the sea life on display there. One more thing, once a year, there is a free museum day (in most states) and the boardwalk Life Saving Station Museum is free. Check the calendar beforehand so you'll know when to visit and save the fee! And lastly, check out Northside Park on 125th St. You can crab for free there, and there's a lovely free park and walking trail, plus picnic and grilling areas. And it's the best place in OC to see the sunsets.

@@TheFunChasers Northside Park is on the bay side. In the summer, they'll have free concerts on Sundays, and it's the home for the Winterfest of Lights that starts about a week or two before Thanksgiving, and runs to January 1. And you can also visit the Art League of OC on 90th St. Beautiful art to see inside, and there are usually artists onsite who are happy to let you watch and talk with. There is a beautiful glass chandelier in the main lobby made by Jeffrey Auxer glass studio in nearby Berlin. He has a lovely shop, you can watch them make all sorts of glass ornaments, You can also make an appointment and blow your own ornament to take home . There is a small fee for that. But it's fun.
