Ready to stop playing small? You’re in the right place. Happy listening!
@HelloSeven im sooo happy you had the wherewithal to make a much wiser decision to move on AND profit from the misfortune of having spiteful racist neighbors. I do have a question though (because i deeply identify with your petty fighter side): would it have been feasible to sell the property AND file a title 7 lawsuit? Im ultra curious.
Faith = fact accepted in the heart. Fear = false evidence appearing real. Love this episode so much! I struggle with not getting it right again and again… However this is the heart of entrepreneurship! We fail more than other people try.
❤I love this message- just talked about letting yourself try in my last video..try and try and try cuz who gon stop me??? Then I feel like it came out your face cuz I needed to re- hear it as I am scared to make that next level move- its unfamiliar and I got lots of doubt but I hear u❤❤❤
Never let ANYONE push you into moving because they can't deal with what God has made. First off, this country technically owes you 40 acres plus a mule lol. We didn't bring ourselves over here to this country, they did because of greed and hatred. Live how you want to and damn the rest. They'd just have to suffer from my presence.
I think I've would have stayed, built walls and televised it. There might be others out there dealing with similar things. I know other Black farmers and homesteader fighting for their properties. So sad.
Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ''Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Jesus told his Disciples Matthew 17:20-21 New International Version (NIV)
@RachelRodgerEsq you came to *Unstuck* our brains right now, thanks! I needed to hear this right now! I totally understand the R & D that many see as Mistakes. I transitioned over already to know that we have to iterate and continue to tweaking, and taking action. The part to work on right now is *doing it Happily 😊! That's my *Homework* because - Happily isn't part of it. I will find a way to find the Happy in it or with it...thanks for the Happy! Also having that Conviction - I had it before, been wondering where it went... I ts funny but I reflected on this last few week and I realized it came from our other Business we had to shut down due to Not recovering from people working from home (it was a Coworking Space). I pray you read this @RachelRodgers how do you think one can come out from that *past trauma* that I am finding myself kinda stuck in.
THEE EXACT same thing happened to us. We stayed, they moved, died, or got over it. It was 8 long years, but our resilience paved the way for more people of color to come and create their dream space. We love our property and now enjoy our neighbors.
Interesting journey. I don't know if you reached out to her or not but maybe Sheila Johnson (Mrs. BET) could've advised you. She bought Salamander Ranch in Middleburg Virgina back in 2002. It's 340 acres. In her autobiography she said she did experience push back and adversity but she flipped it on them. She made improvements on the town infrastructure, sponsored art fairs and her own film festival which all brought in revenues to that town. After raising her family there, she turned it into a resort. Today she's developed homes on the property and is selling those to buyers. She leveraged that property and now has 3 more luxury resorts.
“Youre splitting your efforts because of fear, and your fear is causing the exact results that you dont want”😭😭😭 Cant tell you how many times I’ve been down this road
A timely Word as I just got passed over for a position at my job that started with 90K. Time to make that and then some with the company I've been taking baby steps to build. Time for big faith moves.
I would be lying through my teeth if I said that this wasn't triggering for me. I have lived in the city most of my life and was a young adult when I learned that my family owned land in the country (65 acres). Over the years I had learned that the neighbors around that land had tried telling zoning officials that parts of our land belonged to them. Luckily, the officials already knew who owned what so the lies didn't fly. Others neighbors stated that they flat out would never sell their property to black folks, ever! It's 2024 and people want to act as if racism isn't real. If that were true, then critical race theory would not exist. If that were true, the word "WOKE" would not purposely be misconstrued in an attempt to keep you from thinking what you already know. If that were true, gentrification wouldn't just happen in parts of town heavily populated by minorities. Part of me says you should have fought to stay. Mainly because I'm tired of hearing people say we're all one and should learn to live together. How? When this is my reality. How? When we are not the ones creating the divide. I totally understand the decision you made. With you being a mother, wife, and human being you have to do what brings you and your family peace. 🙏
I love spending money on experiences (I. e. travel, fine dining, classes). So much happier now than when I was younger and bought a bunch of 'stuff'! 😂
This good. My take aways: .Dreams have expiration dates. The definition of a million dollar decision. Downsizing is actually upsizing your time. Great discussion and I'm happy for you!
you can be a all those things and still be nurturing: Matthew 10:16: "Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves"
