Welcome to Holden (Made In Canada) Productions, a mainstream railroading content producer featuring the unique day-to-day rail operations of Southern New Jersey, majorly covering the historic CNJ Southern Division & Pennsylvania Reading Seashore Lines System. So please, feel free to make yourself at home and seek enjoyment with this unique railroading coverage. (P.S. Thank you kindly for choosing to spend your time with Holden MIC Productions!)
Uploads -- (Beginning January of 2024 Uploads will be released the First & Third Mondays of every month at 11am EST.)
Note -- (My goal is to bring valuable, engaging, & monetization-free railroading content to the average viewer for their enjoyment.)
I know you're the right person to ask this, given you're from South Jersey, but do you know what happened to NJTR Comet V 6001 and if there are any records of it along with it's K5LA?
@@sepa2401 #6001 was wrecked in 2014 during a grade crossing accident. It wore an Early 2006-07 Raised Letter K5LA since around 2011 or so that was swapped with it's original K5LA. The 6001 original K5LA I believe is now worn by #6052. The #6052 has worn it since around 2010-11 or so.
@@AirchimeLTDproductions174 I see. Very little footage exists of that cabcar. NJT employees are definitely known for swapping horns all over the place lol. Gotta love how they keep removing base restrictors. Hopefully 6003 gets unrestricted as that cabcar sounds great even with a restrictor.
@@ZillaJr2005 You'd have to adjust the pressure that each bell speaks with using the backcaps and a spanner boss wrench. Revisiting this video since I can’t get enough of the different eras of K5LA’s on NJT. Especially the late 80’s wide fonts early 90’s tagless ones. I am deprived of them being from boring Ohio 😂
Lol you'll certainly get your fair share if you come to this state. BTW most of the Geeps shown in this film have 1994 K5LAs not Widefonts. The only exception is #4205, & #4218 with the Raised Letters and #4219 with a Sqauretag.
@@AirchimeLTDproductions174Ahh okay I’m not surprised that most were a little bit later. You know if 4119 and 4120 had earlier ones? I know that it was built in 81 so I figured it would have a wide font or even a big bore 5 on it. But then again I know a lot of the horns got replaced.
@@ArturoRailProductions 4119 & 4120 still wear their original 81 Largebores yes. The only units that have Widefont largebores of any kind are 4119, 4120, 4912. The Widefont Smallbores are 4901, 4905, & 4906. 4903 wears a 90 Transition era Tagless as do 4103 and 4105.

Those mammoth units truly bolt along that branch. Really impressive sights to behold, especially with all the swagger and noise compared to what we see here in Britain!
Railroading in the US is certainly a very marvelous thing to behold. But I must say you guys have some wonderful pieces of railroad equipment on your side of the globe. Thank you kindly!
It's for Push Pull commuter service. Many railroads find that using a cab control car on one end of the train and a locomotive for the main power, eliminates turn around time and allows for much quicker direction changes. It's much more economical for the railroad without having to use two locomotives.
That 1st catch ? The cars were from H&K (Haines & Kimblehouse, HKGX). I see those cars all the time here on Delmarva, making their way from Birdsboro, PA to Dagsboro, DE- loaded with varying sizes of stone. H&K has a mine/pit in Birdsboro, among other places. These trains are usually brought by NS power, but sometimes the empties are hauled back as far as Clayton, DE by Delmarva Central power. 🚬😎👍
It's strictly commercial trucked now. SRNJ's contract with AE Stone ended in 2022 after it being so many years that SRNJ served them. The trucking industry now has the contract with AE Stone
Awesome footage with some nice horn action! Cool hornshows as well! What that clip of 6012 an older clip of when it had an Unrestricted K5LA or did they replace its K5LLA it had?

I’m from the area, I’m just always confused on where these cars are headed. Is the consist purely interchange cars for SRNJ? Bc I only know of 3 remaining customers they serve, none of which I believe call for gondolas or sand hoppers. Unless they’re for storage at tuckahoe?
No worries, most of the stock on these trains were for CMSL to store on the Cape May Branch. The gondolas and hoppers you saw were all for Seashore Lines. Thank you for watching!
@@AirchimeLTDproductions174 gotcha I figured so…do they run any storage trains to there now? I know shared assets won’t go that far down the line anymore, but does SRNJ?
@@Signal1072 Seashore Lines interchanges at Winslow so whatever cars are run down by Shared Assets will be set off in the Bairdmore Spur right on Bairdmore Avenue, and CMSL takes the cars to Tuckahoe.
@@AirchimeLTDproductions174 that’s awesome didn’t know cmsl runs up to Winslow. Darn near impossible I bet but I got a train to catch lol. Thank you for the replies! Very nice video I love your editing its very organized! And you got some really nice catches although the train horn destroyed my ears lol but nice video😄😂
Theirs quite a few ALPs that sound like 4500 unrestricted, a large portion of the older RL don't sound half bad either. It's the newer castings post 2014 that sound like garbage
