Nice catch and with a nice horn 👍📸🙂🚃🚃🚂

That 1st catch ? The cars were from H&K (Haines & Kimblehouse, HKGX). I see those cars all the time here on Delmarva, making their way from Birdsboro, PA to Dagsboro, DE- loaded with varying sizes of stone. H&K has a mine/pit in Birdsboro, among other places. These trains are usually brought by NS power, but sometimes the empties are hauled back as far as Clayton, DE by Delmarva Central power. 🚬😎👍

I live right by winslow junction and noticed 800 hasn’t been there for about a month. I really hope they didn’t sell it because I grew up watching that thing run freight
@AirchimeLTDproductions174
@AirchimeLTDproductions174 2 года назад
I think SRNJ has 800 stored because it lacks CSS for the Atlantic City Line so they only use it as a helper on stone jobs. They've only been using 3517 & 3578 recently. I'm sure they'll keep 800 because they need it for heavy stone trains.

@AirchimeLTDproductions174
@AirchimeLTDproductions174 2 года назад
@@stevenfischer452 Nah that's been in service for years. In cab signalling modules in the crew compartment of the Loco or cabcar indicate to the engineer the signal aspect of the upcoming block. So if an engineer sees a clear signal visually. He can look over to the CSS module and see the signal for the next block.

@AirchimeLTDproductions174
@AirchimeLTDproductions174 2 года назад
Thank you! And I'll keep trying, its not always the easiest pinpointing when the crews will execute a sustained run 8. Normally with a long consist, they will do run 8 right outta Winslow.

How does A E Stone get their product if not by rail?
@AirchimeLTDproductions174
@AirchimeLTDproductions174 Год назад
Last I heard it was trucked in but I'm not completely sure how that occurs
@StandardGaugeRailroader
@StandardGaugeRailroader Год назад
It's strictly commercial trucked now. SRNJ's contract with AE Stone ended in 2022 after it being so many years that SRNJ served them. The trucking industry now has the contract with AE Stone

How often do they run to Pleasantville and on what days? Or is it as needed?
@AirchimeLTDproductions174
@AirchimeLTDproductions174 2 года назад
Thank you for watching! And yes SRNJ operates as needed or when Conrails WPCA-51 interchanges freight for the Pleasantville Industrial. So pinpointing where and when they run is a modest challenge.

@@AirchimeLTDproductions174 Are they still bringing the stone trains to Pleasantville? I’ve heard that they aren’t…
@AirchimeLTDproductions174
@AirchimeLTDproductions174 2 года назад
@@bracdude181 No sadly, SRNJ lost the stone contract with A&E Stone in March of this year. I was able to capture the last stone run before the termination. Now the only customers they work are 84 Lumber, Peter Lumber, and Tri-Country Building supplies. All of which receive wood and industrial products.

@@AirchimeLTDproductions174 They gonna go out of business soon? Been hearing that too. They recently lost Swedesboro to Salem. SMS took it over.
@AirchimeLTDproductions174
@AirchimeLTDproductions174 2 года назад
@@bracdude181 I think for the time being SRNJ going out of business is more of a rumor. Because they're hasn't been a train to Salem in 6 years run by SRNJ. I mean, I don't know the full details covering that, but for the most part I don't know if bankruptcy is near or not.
