Lol thanks, To be fair I do think the concept has a lot of potential and I will always support indie development and healthy gaming competition, But I feel the designs are lacking in cohesion and philosophy. Even without the copyright allegations the designs as designs feel somewhat soulless (even tho they do emote decently enough in game).
That’s fair, I don’t know too much of the development team, I do know they at best heavily took from Elden ring, arc, and Pokemon (and at worst blatantly ripped them off).
@@muffledkerfuffle you find it funny but i genuinely thing palworld is in many ways what pokemon needs to really start putting thought into their games, understanding what players really want, personally i think their games have been heavily catered towards comp players while thats good because of longevity, whens the last game we actually got lore filled towns? meaningful small stories about them? things like that, you might mock it but give it a few years, the directive pokemon and palworld alike will take, competition in the industry is good for the players
Honestly I agree and I respect your defense of palworld. It might not be my kind of game but I do think the existence of palworld is healthy for pressuring Pokemon to improve their own content. I still stand by the point I think palworld’s pals need improvement in terms of design. I don’t even mean from the pokemon vs palworld copyright infringement. I may need to make a proper video to express my views but I do still stand that palworld’s pals have room for improvement and aren’t my cup of tea design wise.
A few ideas: There's a lot of older game theories about protagonists being dead already that could be turned into ghost types. The calculation made about how strong Ridley's drag attack in smash brothers feels fitting for a pokedex entry about "this pokemon crushes its enemies into the ground and does improbable amounts of damage" At least one reference to the Christmas tree eating experiments While not a Greg-bot believer I do think it could be interesting to base a pokemon off of. Like, a ghost or steel type that pretends to be a human child. Lots of 'mons have connections to "this creature fell from outer space" so there might be a way to work in the Princess Peach is Rosalina's daughter theory
here's an Fakemon idea: one based on the Sans is Ness theory and some other controversies he's had. The first stage I call Fuhnfy, based on FNaF (or the phonetic pronunciation used by popular FNaF-tuber FuhNaff) due to the controversy most of his FNaF theories had, and a controversial company he worked with called Defy. It'd be psychic/steel type, as one of his most popular and controversial FNaF theories were about robot kids (steel) and Defy basically deceived people (psychic). This typing also plays well into its evolutions. Fuhnfy would have 2 evolutions, based on the Pokemon's current moves, with psychic type moves evolving it into Nasster and steel type moves evolving it into Senste Nasster is named after Ness and Gaster and would focus on psychic moves and having high special attack and physical defense. It'd be a pure psychic type, as Ness has those kinds of powers and Gaster is a big mystery. Sensmen is named after Sans and the Starman and would focus on steel moves and having high special defense and physical attack. Sensmen would be steel type, because the Sans is Ness theory relies on the Earthbound plot point of Ness being put into a robot and the Starman is robot-like and was theorized in the theory to be Papyrus. but, hey, that's just an idea. A Fakemon idea.
Interesting ideas! Thanks for the comment! I was definitely planning on doing a “sans is ness theory” so i definitely like the idea! Idk if i wanna handle controversial stuff. But I do know dream theory is a main theory i want to focus on.
My designs for one of the fakemon would have to come from Dig Dug, where it would be 2 fakemon actually, one that looks like a tomato but can explode, representing the Pooka, and baby green dragon fakemon that represents the Frygars.
All good, I appreciate the input! I genuinely just don’t like the pals from palworld. Something about their style doesn’t feel coherent. I could def make a video talking about it, but I can agree it’s definitely more my opinion!
Honestly it isn’t even the pokemon vs palworld debate. I just have issues with the design philosophy of the palworld designs. The creatures do not feel like they exist in the same world together. Even with Pokemon or digimon or other creature capturing rpgs you can take two different designs that feel like they don’t belong and connect them through other Pokemon in that world Palworld feels more like a bunch of designs slapped together with minimal design philosophy or cohesion
I am overall glad palworld exists since it shows creature capturing rpgs can still exist and give pokemon competition to keep innovating, but in terms of design I feel it needs more improvement to me.
Well if you want, I could try to help you design creatures. Or at very least help with brainstorming ideas. I'm really interested in the concept and I'd love to take part in it.
thank you! I’m definitely open to seeing what people comment and suggest! I can’t promise I’ll use every idea, but I’ll try to bring up the comments in future videos when I use them or if they are relevant to the video! It would be great to see what everyone has!
@@muffledkerfuffle Well RU-vid doesn't allow pictures so if I make something, I can't really show you. Unless I make a post where I quote you with a @ Would that be okay ?
Sure! I’ll be sure to credit and show the designs if I use the design!!! If enough people share ideas I may also make a separate video showing off and crediting everyone’s awesome ideas!
Yeah sorry, irl work and stuff has been kind of hectic. I also wanted to keep next week’s video a bit more open in case I had a change in topic First video will be either starters for the region or just an analysis of fakemon vs Pokémon (and some ideas of how to do fakemon for the region).
Thank you so much!!! I really appreciate the support and I do hope these videos can be something the theorist community can share their input on! Would love to see what everyone comes up with whether in the comments or if they share their own videos or posts on the topic!!!
@@muffledkerfuffle your welcome always happy to support a creative type and spread a little more positivity on line if your looking for ideas I like to suggest new pokeballs for the region you make. Besides catching new pokemon in each region I love collecting all the different kinds of pokeballs. Maybe there could be a green 1 for game theory Pokemon which could be like the item or electric pokemon a red for film theory that could work on Pokemon that stared in the movies or the ones from that studio in the black and white games, a yellow ball for food theory obviously for food pokemon and a blue one for style theory that works on pretty pokemon and maybe boost there effectiveness in pokemon coronation contest. Just an idea looking forward to what ever you come up with
That’s definitely an awesome idea!!! I honestly didn’t think about making custom pokeballs but I love the idea. I’ll keep that in mind for a future video! And I’ll obviously give credit! Thank you so much!!!
Fools Gold is such a good series. I love listening to dingo and puffin forest when I’m working on videos. Wanted to do some d&d content for a while but not sure if people would want to see that.
Here's mine but no legendary Pokémon rule. Charizard and Lapras for travelling the world, no more paying tickets to travel, third Pikachu to help me and my family while we have black outs or do have source of electricity with out paying the electricity bills, fourth Me.Mime for extra help in house work, fifth Eevee with the ability pick up just like your reason and sixth Machamp as an bodyguard
Those are solid options! I love the Mr mime choice for house work. I was considering furret, minccino, and cinccino as options for that same reason to help me clean lol.
Lol yeah a lot of people are surprised about that, but I didn't want to focus on a specific genre or video. Sure Mat Pat is best known for his FNAF lore, and his FNAF memes like music man, but I also felt that would leave out every other non-fnaf theory he has worked on; especially since he didn't start off making fnaf theories.
Honestly, I think 100-day videos are perfect for any survival game, really. If you think about it, it's a nice even benchmark that gives the creator enough time to make real in-game progress without spending too much time on 1 video. As much as I like watching 1000 day videos that's a lot of time to spend on one project which is why 1000 day videos are usually just 10 100 day videos combined. Every survival game has this "Trend", Ark, Project Zomboid, Kenshi, ect. I think it's a clean format. Rather than seeing it as "over saturated," look at it like a genre. Any good format is gonna be reused, that's why there are so many reality shows and sitcoms on tv. The thing that we should be skeptical of is people who fake 100 day videos and steal content.
I recently got back into MC because I came across his 100 days videos a few days ago (and I only saw this video because of him as well). I might be in the minority since everyone has a 30 second attention span these days, but I actually prefer the long form content to having to find multiple videos worth watching for a few hours. If I don't have time, I save the long form for a day that I do and I look forward to it! I don't think videos are too long, I think people are too impatient because they've been conditioned with things like shorts and character limits. The amount of people who won't even read this because it wasn't five words long is astounding. I don't see why it needs to be commented on, honestly, as long as it isn't hurting anyone. Criticism like this is what led to the sequel to a game I was interested in being canceled because, I can only assume, Sony didn't think it'd be lucrative. Now I'll never see an ending to this - and the first game left off on a cliff hanger - because some people who clearly didn't actually play the game nor like it (obviously) made an article on it that got a lot of attention from OTHER people who also did not play the game and took what was said in the article and ran with it. The protag in this zombie survival game had to do a fair bit of mercy killing, but it was always a choice. The article, however, would try to convince you that they made him a senseless murdering machine that lusted for murder for no good reason. I'm sorry - but when the choices are mercy kill or leave a woman strung up to get eaten alive, I'm NOT calling him a bad guy for mercy killing her.
That’s a completely valid point! I hoped my video didn’t come off as too critical because I do love the 100 days content. I wanted to make this video to look into the saturation of the topic and start studying the trends! I do appreciate your input and perspective! It helps me figure out how to improve my writing and adjust how I get my messages across. Thanks!
@@muffledkerfuffle You're fine, also, now that I'm thinking about it, I'd like to add that this kind of criticism would be like saying there's too many of x genre (that you don't like for whatever reason) so therefore it's (paraphrasing) basically gotten out of hand and I think that's kind of a weird sentiment to have. For example, 'there's too many horror movies lately' completely ignores all the content within each one that makes them different from the last and no one is forced to consume any of this content, but people will complain and try to get content changed or removed that they never had any intention of interacting with anyway.. because they don't like it personally. Not saying you, but it's enough people that it annoys me for the fact that I can't enjoy the things that *I* like because someone else didn't. It's happened on numerous occasions and I'm just kind of tired of it. For example, I like the walking dead. By no means would I say it's perfectly written or executed, but it's a comfort show in one of my interests. People around me regularly shit on it saying it's overdone and it needs to end, etc. Meanwhile these same people are still obsessing over, and buying, every Pokémon game. I kind of feel the same way about Pokémon, but the difference is I'm not the one sitting here being disrespectful with their interests and saying 'it's so repetitive and overdone/they should end it already' and other comments. I don't really care if they want to milk it dry because I don't have to consume it if I'm not interested in it and I have no intention of trying to ruin it for someone else who finds joy or comfort in it so I don't know why people would want to imply otherwise.
I completely agree with this point! It’s definitely something that got me interested because so many genres and topics have people are making these comments. I’d like to do in depth looks at if these criticisms have merit or if they are overreactions. And I’m glad to see everyone’s perspective and views on this topic! It helps a lot with trying to find ways to improve my content or find new avenues to talk about.
@@muffledkerfuffle Speaking of, I just found out another creator I watch play cozy games posted an 8 1/2 hour long video a day ago about a game that's been 14 years in the making lmao.
despite having hundreds of copycats ltn is somehow still the undeniably the only youtuber that can actually make videos on this specific challenge good
Thanks for your perspective! Forge labs and Luke the notable are great! I hope I didn’t come off as negative of their work. (I at least tried to state my appreciation early on, and conclude how I do enjoy their personality). I also think everyone else making their own 100 days is good in the sense of people’s personalities carry the story. I was more curious about how repetitive the content is, or rather whether it is becoming repetitive. I may make a follow up video reviewing the content.
bruh. all 100 days have a different person playing. its what makes it unique. every youtuber does it in a cool way. its not repetitive because its always a different playthrough
I definitely agree that the unique personalities of each creator is what makes their 100 days unique, but I do think the gameplay itself, even if the mods or challenges differ, has some repetition. If I get more time I’d like to review and see if my theory is right or not. But I do agree that what makes each 100 days different and special is the amazing content creators and their individual personality!
Likewise! I’m grateful to hear everyone’s opinion and perspective on the topic! And your comment has gotten me interested about looking deeper into the topic! thank you!!!
Imagine if this was uploaded on April fools and instead of these it was all baby Pokemon (And yes I do understand Circus Baby is from fnaf 5. It's the pun that I'm focusing on)
Yeah Tom, Lee, Santi, and Amy have been doing great! I am pretty sure MatPat is still around in the background, so I am looking forward to see what he does.
