So that’s where you’re wrong, those are two very different things, can you make a low abv mead yes. But that’s where the similarities stop. Mead is strictly honey as the source of sugar for fermentation while beer uses much cheaper and more common grain. Mead was usually made into good (strong) wine because it’s more expensive and depending on the time period and location, religious purposes as well. Small beer was even drank by the Vikings although most people assume they only drank mead which isn’t true. But it wasn’t even beer at the time, but ale. Most of history ppl drank ale, not beer. Main difference is if it had hops or not. Although today ale and beer are used interchangeably, which causes confusion. Also mead isn’t technically a wine since it’s not made from fruit. Mead is its own thing pretty much.

I don't believe there is any such thing as ancient Pakistan. The title is misleading. It was indians who built this thing and when Pakistan was carved out of India this place incidentally fell into the pakistani territory.
