Well as per in my description, everything is sped up just to demonstrate the realtime dynamic weather and day/night cycle working. Might be a long video if I set them to be 24hrs realtime 😂 Obviously it will all be slowed down in the actual released game! :)
It’s from Scans Factory! They sell all sorts of amazing looking lidar scanned models. My game won’t be using any pre made demo scenes but just for fun and trying stuff out, it’s all there to be used if you buy it etc! You tube and OBS has honestly made it look like garbage. In UE5 it is insanely detailed compared to this!
Yo Bro, I'm just feom reddit and was definitely not expecting such Excellence! Was here for like some super Mario game 😂. This is off the roof! Keep up. Hope by now, since its an year over you've grwon more in skills and knowledge/ People. Can't wait to see you glow.
Hey man! That's very kind of you! I've actually moved from Unity to Unreal Engine 5 now and currently trying to learn how to remake what I did in Unity. Knowledge is growing but its a lot to learn so its taking me a lot of time 😂 I actually work in film and music so I can get distracted from game development as I need to pay the bills but every chance I get, I spend it in UE5 :)
Steinberg will not fix anything, Expression maps are a typical example of how Steinberg works. They have fantastic ideas and are able to put them on the market as semi-finished products that they will never fix. I work with switching articulations massively, and for me, the non-functionality of Expression maps was the reason for switching to Studio One, even though I would have loved to stay with Cubase. Steinber is losing customers and doesn't care.
@@Mrjononotbono I don't think they would neccesarilly disagree with me, they would rather just don't mind your contribution to the issue list. I'll explain. As you probably know, the most voted and one of the most popular topics on Steinberg forums is an Expression maps topic. There, people have already mentioned probably hundreds of things that are currently wrong with Expression maps, many of which are critical. I also know about many composers including some top ones who stopped using E maps just because of these issues. At the same time, what are you talking about here is not critical at all (except for the per-articulation delay, of course). In fact, you can easily create your own E-map creation software. E map files are not binary encoded, they are essentially XML files, so you can reverse engineer them and create your own parser with any interface you'd like. Because of that, I would argue that the interface is not the issue at all. There are a lot of issues which don't have workaround and can't possibly be solved by a user unless you reverse the whole software and do dll injections, which is prohibited by the license. Such problems as articulation locking, selection, auto-assignment, mass note data manipulation, articulated note audition, new UI functions like selection, articulation removing, playback issues, midi track issues, and of course custom delays.
@@Mrjononotbono I don't think Steinberg will watch your channel, but they read their forums and they are aware. That comment was to inform you and anyone who stumbles upon this video. Cheers
i fixed this and many other problems with cubase, halion and groove agent.. i moved to reaper where just any function works better, faster and more customizable😊
This is incredible mate. Now that open ai made chat gpt-4o available for everyone for free, do you plan on using ai to create scripts for coding rather than using blueprints?
Hey man, thank you! I've not actually tried ChatGPT4 for game development but this is an excellent idea man. I would love to see if that can help. I have been trying to learn Blueprints as I don't come from a coding background. I wonder if AI can help with that? If so I would be well up for using it! Anything to help get to the end result is a good thing for me! :)
I just tried GPT4o. It actually can create descriptions and steps but when I asked it to show me visually, it was just a nonsensical mess without even using real words. That's a shame. I wonder if it can create C++ code and it actually work!? That would be a game changer
The game is stunning! I'm in the midst of migrating my Unity game prototype to Unreal Engine (rebuilding it from scratch 😅) , so I'm thrilled to properly work on it after a few successful tests. I'm truly impressed by what you were able to achieve in Unreal-the potential seems boundless.
Well man, thank you! I did exactly what you are doing and moved from Unity and I got quite far with making a game in Unity so its been a bit of a slog trying to learn everything I need to learn to rebuild what I made as things are different in UE5. Keep going with it man, UE5 is amazing and the potential for it (not just games but also film) is absolutely incredible! :) I'm gonna start making some actual tutorial videos on this stuff soon. Just hobbyist videos of things I've been learning but could be helpful (especially when I forget how I did something in 6 months (or maybe 6 mins) time) 😂
Thanks man! It’s not finished yet but I’m happy with how this is shaping up! So much time and effort for a short experience. It’s giving me ideas for my main game and I definitely want it to look good 😂
Hey, new computer is an i9 13900k 24 core 5.8ghz, ASUS ROG Z790 Maximus Hero, 128gb DDR5 G.Skills Trident 6400mhz RAM, 3090FE RTX GFX Card, 3 x 4tb Samsung 990 Pro M. 2, Corsair 1000w PSU, Noctua Cooler, loads of Sata 3 SSDS. 48” 120hz LG C3 OLED display :)
@@Studio1XN Thanks man. For years I've had a slow PC and it served me well until I started learning this stuff. So I saved for a year and decided to build a beast of a machine for it! Love it every day now! :)
@@Mrjononotbono same here mate! Was working with an i5 and a nvidia 970! Then I went all in Unreal engine and had to buy a better PC which is what Im using now. AMD Ryzen7 16 core, RTX 3070, 32Gb of RAM, I thought I was the king haha! cheers! 🍻
This is super cool and a very nice blockout, it communicates the levels very well! Just one thing - and perhaps that was intentional on your part - but shouldn't the reflective surfaces bounce off the lasers at the same angle that they come in, instead of just going straight out of the surface's normal?
@@Mrjononotbono well English isn't my first language, maybe I was unclear.. What I was trying to say, is that a reflected lightray usually exits the surface at the same angle it arrives on the surface on the other side. With your reflective blocks however, the lightray gets reflected perpendicular to the surface, and not at the opposite angle of its entrance :)
@@DavidSchiess Ah I see! Well I’ve probably done something stupid as they should be reflecting correctly but as you have pointed out, they are not. Will have to fix it.
Not sure at the minute. As of today, I've nearly got all my software running on my brand new PC so I have to get stuck in and see what it can do and I'll make some videos! :)
Serious set up there mate. Interestingly, I used to use Cubase SX2 for many years and only recently switched to Studio One. Fellow Guitarist, Singer/Songwriter also. Keep rockin'!
Thanks man. I’m trying out something called BodycamFPS but I’m actually gonna be removing the actual bodycam look. I thought I’d like it but it’s kind of annoying me for the type of game (and story) I wanna make/tell. I could be quite cool having it when going into confined spaces or if the player has to put on a respirator. Gonna have a play about and see what I like. I’m About to build a 24 core i9 with 3090 GFX card so I’m really excited bout getting on with my game soon :)
No worries at all. Yeah, I've checked out BodycamFPS and chatted with the Dev. It's really well done. I was considering to get it for my game. I agree with you. It's good to have maybe certain sections with this view and then normal view for the rest. Your game looks really good and the sky detail was epic. You've done well. I'm keen to upgrade my 3090Ti to a 4090. Never enough power under the hood. lol. UE5.3 is quite demanding. See you in the Discord.
Sees job: <enters beast mode> ==> waited until job was 99% done before cutting the cable. No shame. All we coffee drinkers have severed the cord while trimming shrubs, at least the ones I know.
Haha Well drones are highly illegal in Morocco. To use one for shooting film, you have to have a proper licence with a hired Moroccan Drone pilot and that’s seriously expensive. You literally can’t enter Morocco with a drone it’s that strict! There is gonna be a drone shooting some of this desert on the film I’m working on but unfortunately I won’t be able to share any of the footage.
Amazing what tools are available to us common rabble now lol And this reassures me we might actually see some properly realistic water/waves in games going forward
Oh god no man! Haha! I’ve been doing all this with an old 2600k cpu and am in the middle of building a new pc with a 13900k cpu. Unfortunately I’ve had to go away from home working on a feature film in Morocco so I have to wait till Mid March to finishing building it. This is the last video I post with horrible FPS! Still… I didn’t think it would be productive not to do some stuff and learn and slowly make my game because of a crap PC. It’s just painful having to deal with it at the minute 😂
Excellent work! Love what you've created so far. Some really original concepts here and just what the gaming community needs. Great to see the player is able to interact with alot of the environment. You can never shoot enough crows. lol You did well with the voice acting also. Harder than it looks. Hope you manage to get this finished. I'd buy it. All the best!
Hey thanks so much! I’m currently trying to learn UE5 and gonna be making it in that instead of Unity but I’ve kind of been slowed down at the minute as I’ve been away in Morocco on a film job. The plus side is that the money I earn from the job is allowing me to buy a new computer that can handle this stuff! Happy New Year and hoping to make some serious progress on this when I get back from Morocco :)
@@MrjononotbonoSo sorry I missed your reply. Just came here from Discord after checking out your other video. You're very welcome. Happy New Year also, albeit a little late. lol. Hope you enjoyed the trip to Morocco. UE5 sure is a learning curve. You gotta love a good challenge. Hope this game does well. Is there a Demo we can check out?
Hey, I moved to UE5 because I wanted to start learning about film VFX and Virtual Production. UE5 is what is being used for this as graphical fidelity is just so much higher than Unity. So because I don’t have enough time to learn two game engines, I decided to move from Unity to UE5 and just start again relearning what I’ve done in Unity. It’s taking me a while as I’ve been working away from home on a film job but hopefully next year I will make a lot more progress.
@@Mrjononotbono Thank you for your answer. Unity is my hobby, I have invested a lot of money into it, perhaps too much (I need some extra money when I go into pension 😁) and it meets my needs, so I will stay with it. I'm not young anymore to learn so powerful second game engine.
@@tomazznidarko8700 I totally understand. I spent a fortune on Unity assets but I decided after a lot of thought, sod it, we only live once and UE5 is the Engine that does what I want it to do. It was very painful buying some of the same assets I bought in Unity but for UE5 but after a while I just put down everything I was doing in Unity as learning. Now I just need to find 10,000hrs to finish making my game 😂😂
Hopefully one day. I’ve recently got a job working on feature film shoots so I’ve been in Bulgaria and Morocco (currently in Morocco) so it’s incredibly difficult to work on this for a commercial release at the minute.
Well l am now remaking this in Unreal Engine 5 so it’s taking me a while to learn UE5 so I can do this but eventually you will be able to! It’s a first person perspective story driven sci-fi action adventure game (with lots of humour 😂)
Unfortunately it’s not commercially available for sale. I’m still in the process of designing and finishing my JnB Touch Controller. I’ve been working in film which has taken me away from the controller temporarily.
Thanks man. Loving how much better things are looking in Unreal Engine now. Was a wise choice moving from Unity... although got so much to learn to make this thing haha
Hi. Thank you for the time you put in on this! Do you know of a tutorial to create that kind of layout you have where you have a row of buttons on the bottom to switch layouts on the fly? Thanks again!
