Nimesh Patel is a stand up comedian and writer based in New York City. He is currently on his second nationwide tour and has written for SNL, the Oscars, Awkwafina, Hasan Minhaj, and much more.
While most know him for his (in)famous appearance at and subsequent removal from a comedy show at Columbia University (and his subsequent appearance on #JoeRogan), Nimesh has been performing comedy for over 10 years. You may have seen him on Comedy Central's This Week at The Cellar, VICE Live, and MTV's Vidiots. Nimesh is a regular at the Comedy Cellar in NYC and currently resides in Brooklyn.

I think that’s an issue a lot of Americans have that grow up with not just American culture but their families legacy culture. Also I am a child of divorce with a father who was not interested in raising me at all. So that definitely plays a huge part in having trouble comming to grips with who we are as a person. Usually people are defined by their parents and their community, the parents are supposed to represent a balance, two sides of the same coin, and when one is missing, it’s never a positive thing. As an Indian who is married to a white wife (not in the US) , I believe this accusation is so dumb and racist: Because of your race you are not allowed to marry into other race. You should not marry the wife you love but rather the wife that the ministry of the race is allowing you to. And who tries to impose it? Your fellows of the same race. It’s exactly what white supremacy ideology is trying to say. Do you identify with this ideology? How much stupidity and lack of self esteem need to come with this claim?
