The power of great music, especially great singing like this, is that it can deeply affect different people in different ways. In the comments I've read, no one has mentioned that this performance can easily be seen as a wonderful gay love song. I don't whether the singers are gay, but that doesn't matter. To me, in this performance, they are singing it as if they are. Two hunky countertenors, smiling at each other, expressing their love. It brings me to tears.
I realize that this has been up for a while, but I have to comment that I am nearing the end of a wonderful collaboration with someone who has become a dear friend as we have taught ballroom dance together for three and a half years... the bond that has grown between us is so beautifully depicted in these lyrics and so amazingly brought to life by these beautiful men and their incredible voices. I listen to it frequently and ... tears... more like a tsunami! A flow of tears and emotion and gratefulness for my friend and this rendition of this song is like no other I have experienced in my 71 years... thank you cannot touch how it has moved me.
Oh my gosh! Goosebumps! This is one of my favorite songs and I have heard many different duets, but this gave me such a different feeling. So beautiful, peaceful, touching. Well done! ♥️♥️
This could be my favourite. It really could be. What a rendition. I am a believer. I WANT this friendship, and I am now desperate to call my friends and tell them how much I appreciate them. This is just fab. Guys are telling guys that they love them and meaning it. Telling them how much they appreciate their friendship. WOW. THisis the world I want to live in! People.... I know it is just a song. I get it. I can, however, dream a little. Songs are meant to be inspirational, at least a little. This one does that. Of course, there are many things we could all pick at technically - of course there are, BUT I will mention NONE of them because this moved me. That was its task. To move me. It did that in SPADES! SPADES! Well done. Bravo. Moooooor!!! Mooooooooooooor!! Standing Ovation The flourish at the end was unexpected and very much appreciated!! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾💯💯💯💯
I've heard it said That people come into our lives For a reason Bringing something we must learn And we are led to those Who help us most to grow if we let them And we help them in return Well, I don't know if I believe that's true But I know I'm who I am today Because I knew you Like a comet pulled from orbit As it passes the sun Like a stream that meets a boulder Halfway through the wood Who can say if I've been changed for the better But because I knew you I have been changed for good It well may be That we will never meet again In this lifetime So, let me say before we part So much of me Is made of what I learned from you You'll be with me Like a handprint on my heart And now whatever way our stories end I know you have rewritten mine By being my friend Like a ship blown from its mooring By a wind off the sea Like a seed dropped by a sky bird In a distant wood Who can say if I've been changed for the better But because I knew you Because I knew you I have been changed for good And just to clear the air I ask forgiveness For the things I've done, you blame me for But then I guess We know there's blame to share And none of it seems to matter anymore Like a comet pulled from orbit (like a ship blown from its mooring) As it passes the sun (by a wind off the sea) Like a stream that meets a boulder (like a seed dropped by a bird) Halfway through the wood (in the wood) Who can say if I've been changed for the better I do believe I have been changed for the better And because I knew you Because I knew you Because I knew you I have been changed For good
Hmm - a 'manwich', these guys are both so talented, maybe I should calm down....a beautiful redition, of course, the standard RU-vid video performed by Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel is great, but these guys bring a power to the voices...loving it!!
I loved your version of this song. You both were awesomely amazing. When you sung this song I felt like you were singing it just for me. This is a song for everybody. I was disappointed that I did not find any other songs like this one that left me wanting to hear it over and over. I hope you make more songs like this one. CONGRATS 🎉🎉❤❤👊👊👍👍👏🏻👏🏻⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌈🌈🌈
