I enjoyed this but hard to watch. He probably needed to clean his camera lens. I had to just listen because of the blurred camera view. 😢

Yep sorry about that. As Richard mentioned it was because he runs Linux and it wasn't interacting well with my system.

Hi, you might enjoy Rosalee's podcast with David Winston where David covers all the parts of stinging nettles. It is a very deep dive in Season 7, Episode 6, which is before we were numbering them consecutively. Cheers, Karin Rose

Can someone tell me how to use the Chamomile oil...am only hearing the benefits not how to use it
@HerbsWithRosalee
@HerbsWithRosalee 11 часов назад
Hi, I use chamomile infused oil as a face and body oil after a shower. With the remaining residue on my hands, I lightly scrunch it into the ends of my hair. I also use a little bit in foot baths. Chamomile infused oil is also wonderful to incorporate into other products, such as salves and creams. Cheers, Karin Rose

I wonder if the Sumac decoction would be good for cats. They are prone to kidney diseased sometimes need to take erythropoietin when they become anemic in later stages.

In the sumac elderberry recipe, are the amounts the same (by volume) of elderberry and sumac berries?

I have rhus aromatic growlow sumac in my garden. Is this a variety that is safe to make medicine with and consume?

Is it strange that I actually quite like the smell of Valerian roots? I keep smelling them again and again to try to figure out the stinky feet smell people find so abhorrent, and I can't smell it! Is it like a cilantro love/hate DNA kind of situation? In any case, I just dug up some roots and started my first batch of Valerian tincture, thanks for the inspiration!

Wonderful interview and information. I'm in southern OK and our property has a lot of staghorn sumac (a lot!). Ashamed to say, as an herbalist for more than 30 yrs (I actually studied at Clayton 1998-2002 when Phyllis was there and am a huge fan of her work), I've never explored it past lemonade/vit C. sheesh. My favorite plants are those that grow near me, so I tend to use things like Poke and Yarrow for almost everything....I'm adding sumac to the list now. Thank you both so much!

Thank you for adding to the conversation! I had a similar experience with sumac after watching this delightful podcast. I dove deep into the rabbit hole and had a fabulous time getting acquainted with our local sumac commonly known as lemonade berry bush. There are so many amazing plants to explore and it is wonderful to be able to keep learning new ones as we move through our lives. Cheers, Karin Rose

I live in Albuquerque NM. Mild winters. I want to plant sage in a pot. Will the leaves stay on the plant in the winter or do you have to cut it back to the ground and wait for spring?

Hi Rosalie! I’m so excited that you decided on taking David Winston’s 2yr course! You will love it! Thank you for having Richard on the show! He was/is my Botany teacher and I spend time with him on plant walks whenever I can since I am in his area. He is incredibly knowledgeable in plants and so fun to geek around with!

Thank you for this post, I really appreciate it There was a profusion of Self Heal growing near where I live in Scotland. It called to me, despite me not knowing this plant, only knowing that it was medicinal, antibacterial. So I've made 2 small jars of tincture. I've strained it a couple of days ago and this video has popped up which is good timing.

My husband and I are blessed by God to be able to move from Eugene, Oregon to North Idaho 4.5 years ago and buy a small house on a bit more than 5 acres with so many medicinal plants growing here including self heal. I may get backlash in here but our heavily Farther created these plants for us. I’m not a worshipper of plants but am of the One that created them. I do talk to the plants and so appreciate them. My husband and I have talked about setting up a sound system in the greenhouse for classical music to be played. Saying that; I have respect for all that our Almighty God has created but He is the One that I will only worship.

Why does it take so long for herbs to work?
@SaraLuxemburg
@SaraLuxemburg 4 дня назад
Herbs can work very fast in acute cases, it depends on dosage. Like reducing high blood pressure or allergy reaction, or stop bleeding. But if you have a chronic problem it is better to work slowly with lower dosages.

I recently had that “oh my god it worked” response to a high blood pressure formula I made for my husband. I have one for my self that works as a sleep tincture but also controls my blood pressure. Then I made one for him with different herbs and wow it worked. He’s been off his meds for almost a month now and his blood pressure is perfect.

What I have learned is infusing any fruit or vegetable I want into oil. It has been so amazing. I’ve done pineapple, sea buckthorn, fig, date, banana and oatmeal, and aloe Vera. I’ve got cactus, black olive and watermelon on the way. My 49 year old face looks 35 and I love it. Thanks for a great video!

Thank you so much for all of the wonderful information! I see that I have two different Goldenrod species growing. And am going to experiment using both. Perhaps I can mix them into a tea blend together. And now I also know it's benefits And how to use it! Thank you so much! Rosalee, I love your beautiful " golden rod" coloured skirt too! 🙏🫶

Stinging nettles are at the top of my list of favorite plants to eat,tincture and use as salves. I do wear gloves when harvesting because the wild nettles where I live are pretty powerful. They burn for days. I also blanch and freeze them for winter as well as nettle pesto. I like to saute them in bacon grease as well as olive oil etc. Either way they're delicious! Nice to find ways to enjoy them all year around.

Just was referred to Astragalus when researching covid tx. Dr. didn't say many specifics about it, just that it was one he recommended. I believe I am passed the mild infection I had and am recovering. I will take some to help with recovery and getting my immune system back up. It's sounding like continued use may be of benefit for liver and other things you shared. I am very new to using herbs, so to be easy for me, I purchased the Dr. Mercola organic Astragalus Extract 300mg tablets, it says to take one tablet-two times per day. Thank you for your wonderful video. I look forward to watching more.
