Did you know that the iconic trademark "Sarong Kebaya" worn by the cabin crew of Singapore Airlines was created by the renowned French fashion designer Pierre Balmain in the 1970s is well known in the world of Haute Couture along with Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Dior, Coco Chanel, Kenzo, and other big names in the fashion houses of Paris, France.
These Mabuhay Class seats are almost Identical to a Korean Air 2-3-2 Prestige Class B777 BE Minpod. If you're traveling as a family you take the whole row but leave the middle seat to a different passenger. Had this experience on KE086 HL-7733 December 18 2006 My mother was across from me I had the Aisle side Businessman middle Father and Brother on his opposite side. Thank you for the comment. Yes, I agree. Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa also have these layout in some of their planes. Although, at this age, business class cabins should all have 1-2-1 on widebody aircrafts.
Valid point. Hopefully, this changes soon. Although, it is taking them so long. The design of their new A330s and A350s is way better and comparable if not better than its regional rivals and even the Middle Eastern airlines. Please check my video of PAL's A330 plane.
Valid point. Hopefully, they follow the design of their new A330s and A350s which is way better and comparable if not better than its regional rivals and even the Middle Eastern airlines. Please check my video of their A330 plane.
Oh thank you! I am glad you liked it. Yes, hopefully, in the future they will have 1-2-1 configuration in all long haul flights - similar to their new A330s and A350s.
Please do. I have done that route but they were still using the old A321 business class configuration with recline seats. My parents have done that route however and they were using the new design with lie flat seats. Hope you were lucky?
Nope! This is something PAL should really address. The ground experience is not ideal. Although they made a huge improvement with the new Mabuhay Business Class Lounge at Terminal 1. Cant wait ti try it.
I mainly travel to Europe and PAL doesn't have any direct flights to Europe at all still go to Hong Kong, Bangkok or Singapore to catch a connecting flight my favourite is Lufthansa, I used to fly with them until they ceased flying to Manila in 2008 and recently took the A380 flight to Frankfurt from Singapore and then on the return flight via Singapore Airlines on the same aircraft. I recently read that Lufthansa is making a comeback to the Philippines and they will launch direct non stop flights to Manila from Frankfurt hope it materializes as at present we don't have any direct flights to Europe from the Philippines.
Yes dennis! It is about time they introduce direct Europe flight. I bet they will reintroduce the London to Manila flight although I hope they fly direct to Madrid and Paris too or Frankfurt!
@@LivingItForYou If there's a direct flights from Manila to London Heathrow I would prefer British Airways or Virgin Atlantic when going to Continental Europe or the Schengen Area my preference will be Lufthansa from Frankfurt or Munich, Air France from Paris Charles De Gaulle, ITA Airways from Rome Fiumicino or Milan Malpensa even Finnair from Helsinki Vantaa flying direct to Manila.
@@dennis12dec I hope all those airlines introduce flights to Manila. I bet they will only consider doing so when the New Manila International Airport is opened in 2027 /2028.
@@LivingItForYou The New Manila International Airport in Bulacan will be like Paris Charles De Gaulle which is in the town of Roissy en France 23km northeast of the French capital roughly the same distance from Metro Manila, Paris CDG has excellent road and rail connections to Paris and the to the regions of Northern France.
Extremely good food, and the service is probably from the best in Europe. Tough, no longer in Europe I guess. It's so sad to see that such excellent food and service will only be offered to Putins shit people and his nazi companions. Looking forward to a free Russia where we can all meet and enjoy this quality of food and service!!!!!
Looking at this seems a bit dated. What are some other airline options for business class at the same price point but with direct access and better seats/amenities ? Flying from YVR Canada to Manila/Cebu
I am pretty sure you can fly via EVA airlines or Cathay or some of the Middle Eastern airlines. No other direct flight options I am afraid. Hopefully, they introduce the new A330s and A350s in all routes though.
I have not tried but it looks very swish and spacious with nice accents and interior design. Hopefully, I can try it later this year so watch out in this channel.
Hopefully all business class seats will be in 1-2-1 configuration same as in their new A330s/A350s. Both of which have premium economy. Not sure PAL would ever introduce First Class cabin but hopefully in future!
I live in California, I fly out of LAX or SFO, I fly to Southeast Asia a lot, I would never consider flying with Philippine air, their product is nothing but a premium economy seat with extra legroom, and a foot rest. There are a lot better business class products out there. And their lounges are absolutely horrendous, you’re better off, eating your meals on the concourse. 🤷🏼🤷🏼🤷🏼
Oh yes the terminal lounges is horrible. Although I am yet to try the new Mabuhay Lounge in Manila Terminal 1 and that looks very swish and nicely decorated. As for the product, definitely agree with you with the older planes like the B777 (which sadly is the plane they use on the LAX and SFO leg). The JFK route already use the new 1-2-1 layout in their A330 or A350. Hopefully, you can try that. It is way better and competitive against regional rivals.
Business class should be 1-2-1 for the prices they're charging (which aren't exorbitant or anything, but also aren't really any cheaper than competitors who do 1-2-1 in their business class). Thank you for showing this!
Oh absolutely. I just hope they fast track the development of their A330s and A350s which have 1-2-1 configuration and refit all of their B777s. Actually, one B777 which they recently acquired from Garuda is now on 1-2-1 configuration! So promising but need to be faster :)
Enjoy the layovers. I've been flying with PAL for many years. No issues except one late plane from mnl to lax. It was a few hours late. I only like direct flights. dislike the hassle with layovers.
Sorry to hear that and I must add there is a huge difference in service between Economy and Business Class. I flew Economy on the LAX to MNL return flight and boy the service was not good. Definitely, there is room for improvement.
Not at all. I hardly noticed - there is a curtain and I hardly hear any noise coming from it and I am a light sleeper. I am excited for the new American Airlines Business Class seats though!
I have always enjoyed the service in PAL business class. It's a shame they now depart from terminal 1. Terminal 1 infrastructure is awful. Particularly, the at-gate, pre-boarding security clearance process. Negates any relaxing you managed to do in the BC lounge 😅
Although there is now a dedicated Mabuhay Lounge in Terminal 1 which looks very swish. Cant wait to try it! And I am looking forward to the rehabilitation of the airport commencing September :) Thank you for the comment :)
Hi there! We wanted to extend a heartfelt thank you for choosing Philippine Airlines for your recent flight. We genuinely hope that you had a comfortable and enjoyable journey. We can't wait to welcome you back on board in the near future! Your continued support means a lot to us. ✈💘
Thanks you so much! I am happy you found my video. Yes I am looking forward to being on board your A350 from New York to Manila next year :)) Hopefully, you will also resume your Europe routes! ;)
hello :) i only travel with a small personal bag and it fit well by the armrest. you can also put it under the tv screen by the footrest during takeoff and landing :) hope that helps
Nice Video....would you have infor on what the business class set up is for MNL-Dubai PAL....most of the videos on youtube are from before Covid and have 22 seat set up
Hey thanks for the comment. I believe the MNL- Dubai segment is still served with the old A330 dated layout :(( The new A330 layout is being used on East Asia routes.
My pleasure - it is going in right direction :) I will be posting soon my Business Class experience aboard PAL Boeing 777 Manila to Doha so keep an eye on that :))
Thanks for the comment. Yes SQ has a great product. This new A321neo business class layout is far superior to other SE Asian airlines and def better than the European and American A320/A321 and B737 business class layouts.
Thank you 👏👏👏👏 hopefully Clark will expand and include the Philippines dioramas of superior flora and fauna and feature our lumads like the internationally renowned tattoo artist wang od 🇵🇭❤️
Stunning building and lobby I m a huge fan of brutalism and I would like to say that this hotel is amazing Not really sure of the new deck of the bedrooms and the restaurants. No charm, no character… you could be in the same hotel room in Spain. But the building itself! Wouah !
So great to find another fan of brutalism! Please check my other videos - like the hotelS in Sochi. Those are great Brutalist hotels too. Hope I can visit more. Oh totally agree on the interior of the bedrooms haha.
Oh thank you so much. Really appreciate this comment. It is such a historic hotel and such amazing interiors. The political and architectural significance of the hotel is also incredible. Would love to stay again :)
