Kill the villainess is so so good, it's on the more mature side of the spectrum with its themes, there's really nice world building and it's finished, so no need to marinate it! (102 Chapters). Isekai with the goal of returning back to her og world, less heavy with the romance and revenge.
SPOILER**** i lovvvvvvvvvvvved the frieren and fern vs. duplicate frieren so much. the manga didn't hit anywhere near as hard. the anime definitely captures the story better. the adaptation is perfect imo
My problem with the show is that it tries to play of as a smart anime with brilliant protagonist. But everything is soooooo stupid from the chess to the dog mask, and this particular sequence was just the last nail in the coffin for me. Literally couldn't finish the anime, even though I've heard and believe that the second season finale is one of the best anime endings.
The fact I read all of these villainess manga shown beside some Japanese ones is crazy 💀 like the one you recommended I did read but it took so long to update that I eventually just forgot about it
Yikes, I feel awful for the one guy who recognized the girl from Liar Liar in the opening montage and thought, "Finally... an angel has come to validate the six hours I sunk into Liar Liar!" only for said angel to walk up slowly to their specific location and kick them in the teeth instead.
So, I am going to say I had a... Unique experience with this scene. I accidentally started on Season 2 since it was listed first on the TOTALLY LEGIT website I was on. I thought the whole story was being told In-Media-Res and had seen just a glimpse of Euphy's geassed action. It was some dark mystery, and I figured it was some kind of misinterpreted command, having him just say something THAT precise at the worst possible moment was almost a letdown to the accidental mystery buildup.
The C's world thing confused me. Lelouch didn't kill 'god,' he literally asked 'god' to defend itself from Charles trying to kill it. I am very confused.
You watch this timid, talented girl grow up and learn magic. But here, here is when she shines for the first time. You see just how powerful she is under the pale light of the moon. Brilliant ☀️
I'm confused now. Simple example: The Goku Black arc in the DragonBall Super ANIME. I thought those were called "time loops". Where I always feel like it doesn't make sense. Goku tests Zamasu in the present causing the arrival of Goku Black in the future, while he only wreaked havoc there because Goku tested him in the present. What's that called, folks? I just picked DBS, as perhaps that's what most people here might have watched.
Wow, I've never seen a video so arrogant and hypocritical. You really think so highly of yourself and your beliefs while having terrible media literacy and understanding.
Honestly one of the things I find to be so crazy about this is the fact that so many people think Lelouch was making a joke when in actuality he’s literally just describing his geass to her and as a result gets geassed herself how is that in any shape or form a joke
I would like to add a recommendation, "Always a Catch". The MC was a bubbly, airheaded young lady who came from a noble house that is famous for their martial prowess. The first chapter started with her condemnation by the crown prince. But she wasn't the one engaged to him. And chaos ensued soon after. This is a comedy through and through. I highly recommend this one for laugh and cutesy scenes.
Hyouka is my best anime ever !!!!!!! And when I saw the first episode of this, i loved it, felt connection to Hyouka ! This Honobu Yonezawa guy is amazing !
Expectations and wanting to do the best that one can. Or excepting the limitations of ones self. Not that much different than a certain character in Hibike Euphonium.
I agree, I really appreciate the show not beating us over the head with the power dynamic/injustices/unfairness; the point still gets across to us. I’m so glad the show so far doesn’t devolve into grim dark/torture porn sort of imagery to try to hammer these things home.
After reading the books and catching up with the manga up to 8/2024…I can confidently say the director for the anime read the novels and is passionate about their work because the sheer amount foreshadowing and hints is almost ridiculous but so very subtle especially when it comes to character interactions. Some character identities and relationships are obvious but their obviousness almost hides other characters dynamic and when you either read the novel or rewatch after the reveal it makes so much sense that its almost embarrassing that you didn't see it coming.
This is the reason why Log Horizon is the Best Isekai for me. They never forget the Isekai part in their story. In other Animanga/LN, they only use Isekai as a tool to move to different world. They only show the isekai part in the introduction, you can remove the "transport to different world part" and the rest can be "standard Adventure Fantasy" story. But in Log Horizon, if you remove the concept of Isekai or "transport to different world", the story cannot go to anywhere. Because all story in Log Horizon works because they're now in isekai/different world.
Villainess stories might also be my favorite, I’ve seldom found one that isn’t at least a bit above average, and the ones I love I REALLY love. They’re absolutely cathartic to watch/ read
That walk Fern does is something ONLY an anime could pull off so smooth, she's casually blasting the shit out of his attacks without even looking while looking stylish as hell. Its moments like this why im reminded that ignoring the anime to series just because the manga is past the show is a disservice because there's things one medium does that the other cannot.
This scene was always weird to me, after waching it for the first time i just tought the entire scene was just Lelouch trying to rationalize was he has done.
Another question this video raises: do the short term benefits outweigh the long term ones? As mentioned, the demons have been continuing to kill as they uphold their end of the bargain, and will continue to do for time immemorial until someone kills them. If we assume that the deal only holds water until Daigo's reign ends, can we truly say that Daigo's deal benefits the many over the few? On one hand, it's true that there are less people dying now even as the demons continue to hunt because of the deal. But as history marches on and Japan becomes more and more populated, the demons will continue to feast if left alive. How many people would they kill in their lifetimes, and at what point would that number eclipse the amount of people spared by the deal? Thanks for the video, it was a joy.
All fiction is contrived. It's just a matter of making it feel organic. Code Geass is one of my favourite anime of all time for reasons, but this moment did not feel organic. It felt like "At least it's not raining!" and then suddenly a thunderstorm starts in the middle of a sunny day. The same result could have been reached with more tact and subtlety. Example: have him lead with the order to kill the Japanese, have the scene fake-out that it didn't work, have Lelouch mentally speculate that his geass can't make someone fundamentally oppose their nature, have the same character moment between them, then have her say something like "and everything will work out just as soon as I kill the Japanese." I'm not here to pretend to be a write, I'm just throwing out an idea. Maybe it's a shit idea, but the point is, there are other ways it could have been done.
