As always Keith its a pure pleasure to watch your very professional videos. Good luck tomorrow against Rochdale in the quarter finals. Clitheroe have something extra to play for this season
Come on Keith, that’s another batting milestone that wasn’t shown along with a few others over the last few games. Always nice to see a 50 or 100 acknowledged. Good win that!
Well that wicket wasnt up to standard for this league Keith. I only saw 3 boundaries, and 2 were from Clitheroe. If Church stay in the league, they can thank their groundsman. Never seen so many worm burners at this level. Cant remember seeing any front foot shots either. One to forget for Clitheroe. Great coverage as usual Keith. Thanks Dave
They knew how to bowl on their own track and they got as many runs as they were able BUT how did you not manage to do the same back to them? These things definitely happen in cricket but in the end they definitely extracted much lower bounce with shorter bowling actions. It had me glued as soon as you gave your half time summary and I saw how long was left to play :)
I assume you mean what I call jack-in-the-box keepers. There's plenty of them about and they give it full throttle, with attendant actions, when there's any sniff of an LBW.
Would love to know if there was something in the prep of the wicket that had caused that? Presuming thats not a normal Church deck? Not a great spectacle though.
I agree it doesn't look good and I speak as a member of Clitheroe which for years was categorically a low and slow type wicket. Batsmen would much rather be caught on the edge than bowled round the ankles. How typical it is of a Church wicket - I just don't know.
@@keithfawcett5150 My concern as someone linked more with the Palace Shield, is that sometimes leagues and clubs within those leagues often look down on other leagues standards but this is something I'd expect of a Div 5/6 Palace Shield ground, not a club as well run as Church. Hopefully it was a one off, as we've seen with another club more local to me recently!
It's in games like this that you need depth of batting - an awkward wicket that gets rid of your main men. Rossy was not available and he's been our main run getter so far this season.
Good to see Tom Lord back in the big runs. A delight as cricket fan and ex player, to watch someone hitting the ball so cleanly. Good tight bowling from Clitheroe, and the result was never in doubt after Church collapsed. Good for the confidence going into the next league fixture with a win
The left arm bowler has pace and a good action, however, he has no plan and is all over the place. Bowl a length and make the batsman work for his runs. Yes, try and bowl quick but bowl at the stumps on a length.
You avoided the weather for once, seems most of Saturdays cricket was washed out in the UK. Even though their is clearly no love lost when in the heat of battle between you and them, nice to see you lending a fielder and their bat walking
Excellent win Keith. Well rewarded and well needed. Very good batting from the top order, and hopefully the sub pro has found his home. Didnt realise that a pro could play for various teams in the same season. Mr Pretorious looks the part with Clitheroe
The best game for a long time and when you guys put a total on the board it seems rare for it to be chased down. That was a fantastic performance against a team that normally dominates :)
Cracking game Keith & a long overdue win! Some top notch performances there & the overseas really adds something so hopefully he can be signed as a permanent replacement if his compatriot doesn’t return.
There doesn't seem to be any fresh information about Tian. How available Ruhan Pretorius is, I don't know but he's definitely very useful. In the video I mentioned that he picked up a duck on his second visit to Clitheroe ,but I didn't mention that he was furious with himself that day and went off round the ground on his own. He's clearly, to my mind, a 100% -er.
Comfortable indeed - top 4 played well, led by Ali Ross. Sub-pro was competent, and well bowled Sam Halstead with his 5-fer. Also good to see the sun shining in north Lancs!
You always seem to be at least a batter or a bowler short. Apart from 1 or 2 teams availability seems to be getting tougher and tougher over the years, sign of the times?
There is no doubt that you could see the difference in energy with your current South African Pro absent. Regardless of past perfances he did seem to give an extra sense of 'zing' when he was in the game. I fear that some fo the sub pros may lack a little commitment to your cause??
Jack's on domestic duties after the birth of his second child and Cole was, or is, injured or unfit. Cole has been on the ground during a couple of games but hasn't trapped as yet.
Seems difficult to get points off of Burnley Keith, although Clitheroe restricted them to an average score. Their bowling was spot on though. As you said, could be a difficult season, although relegation should be avoided, hopefully by winning your homes games
Excellent summary Keith. Good to see a few of the batsman making good scores. Reckon the overseas pro needs a confidence booster with both bat and ball. Their pro had quite a lot of lucky charms, and reckon he knew it. Marcus Sharp still has it, and great to watch a proper cricketer, especially when bowling. His action is how we all learnt back in the day. Unlike these days with so many throwers
Unfortunately, Tian has returned to South Africa because of a family health crisis. Whether he returns is not known at this moment in time. Certainly for this coming weekend sub-pros have been engaged.
