Regarding how Shadow knew about Rogue - maybe Eggman knew and told Shadow but also told Shadow to keep it to himself because he was trying to finish the mission anyway. Remember, Eggman in this game was fueled by his respect for Gerald and was moving in peak Eggman form. He could not take any chances and probably learned exactly who Rogue was.
To be fair. AMY still clearly loves sonic and even when she was first introduced in idw, she was willing to just abandon the resistance to go with sonic and frontiers is just a natural evolution of that, shes just not as clingy but tue feelings are still there. Even if they aren't ever gonna be a thing I like the constant teasing they do like in somic frontiers, sonic idw, murder of sonic, etc similar to how they tease silver and blaze ( or rouge and shadow or knuckles to SOME extent but thats more fan shipping) i mean sega knows those 3 are the most popular ships, hence why they keep teasing us with little moments ESPECIALLY in the comics
After Frontiers, I just don't think Sonic Team has the resources to get an overseas writer to write an ambitious story in collaboration with them. Maybe Shadow Generations will show they have a better workflow with a more cohesive story, but the fact that Ian Flynn had to test the waters by writing in the certain lines and the fact that Kishimoto reworked a lot of the script for the Japanese release, shows a lack of synergy between the two.
I think the comparison to Lupin the Third isnt exactly the same like at all, for the main issue that they actually go hook up and go as far as to have a kid together and confess each others true feelings. Basically they do fall in love. Which isnt really comparable to Sonic and Amy who are teased, but not set in stone at all, and add onto that sega not wanting it to be offical besides small teases and jokes here and there and yeah I get them going on their own paths. Same for ships with Mario and Peach changing up their dynamic as well, and peach getting her own game again.
Lupin and Fujiko having a kid is honestly a very minor aspect of the franchise. You can enjoy the franchise without ever knowing that. But Sonic and Amy are set in stone. They are definitive. It is confirmed Sonic also does like Amy. They'll just never enter a traditional relationship on screen like how we haven't seen Lupin and Fujiko enter a traditional relationship on screen. The Sonic franchise simply doesn't want to focus on romance but the two's relationship have been developing well in the background. The two are generally closer now, Sonic is more chill with the attention Amy gives him. In Unleashed you can accept a date with Amy. In Black Knight they literally had a date planned. And as I've said in the video, Sonic is meant to be an iconic and timeless franchise. The whole point is to keep a status quo. And Amy's most defining trait is her obsession with Sonic so that simply shouldn't be taken away just like how Tails' is like a little brother to Sonic or how Knuckles should always be the guardian of the Master Emerald.
@TrueBlueOfficial thing is Unleashed and Black Knight is just a continuation of the same story as they just planned the date after he "brings peace" to the world and then he gets sucked into The Black Knight Universe. So maybe it would've been something more, maybe it wouldve just been a hangout between friends. There is no real way to know because it never happened. But truthfully, those are semantics, and I guess it doesn't really matter. But it kinda just feels like breadcrumbs. And if there not doing anything with it I'd say letting Amy have a different core thing to her character seems fine. She'll always "love" serious, friends wise, no matter what she. But I kinda like the idea of her exploring who she is besides "the nice girl who really loves sonic" Even as far as the comics (which are not perfect at all) But in multiple comic runs Amy's been shown to still love Sonic, but it's always changing. I don't see why the mainline continuity can't due the same, not saying to go as far as either of them date someone else no, but you get the idea.
@@jospehpenn3033 And that's the thing. I really don't mind if they explore other aspects of Amy. You can have a big dream in life and also have other hobbies and passions. I talk about my one big dream almost never. Amy can still aim to reach her big dream, which is marry Sonic while the games focus less on it and more on her other traits. The need to "bring closure" as Ian Flynn specifically wanted to do is unneccessary. Sonic and Amy are actually meant to be a perfect pair. The comics continue to showcase her love of Sonic because they take place before Frontiers and because not only Ian Flynn writes the comics. Ian was specifically bring the Amy and Sonic dynamic to an end in Frontiers. And even then it wasn't fully realised because all he did was hide a few lines in there. It was never the plan from Sonic Team's side. Another thing, as already mentioned in the video, is that Amy's obsession for Sonic has already been downplayed. in Sonic Forces she is fully committed to the Resistance with only one line in the entire game relating to her being in love with Sonic. I'm pretty sure Lost World had like 1 very ambigious reference to her love of Sonic as well. So my question is, what is Ian Flynn even trying to fix?
I think whole Shadow mistaken for Sonic plot point feels less like a plot hole and more like the story just forcing you to suspend your disbelief. Shadow and Sonic straight up just look like different people, but people mistake them anyway just because they’re both hedgehogs.
I like that u picked up on the Anti-Christ stuff in the series. The animation is fully 3D wit some 2D effects animation here & there. I honestly have tons of issues wit it but it's not "horrible" ig jus really amateur like they didn't want to pay a well known good studio & instead got a bunch of noobies which I hate. Sega owns 2 whole japanese animation studios & neither could be used, really? When it comes to the vegeta thing I do think it's dumb they disregarded that not cus I'm a huge DB fan(I am) but cus they don't any of the other inspirations like mewtwo or the ones u mentioned. Vegeta is a part of the list of inspirations & I think it's dumb to deny even if it's lite in comparison. Shadow 05 was "amazin" it's the reason he's my fav character in the franchise & 1 of my fav characters in media. DS is far from my fav anime but u factually can't tell me UFOtables' animation (the studio known for their beyond excellently godlike fusion of 2D & 3D animation techniques not even in anime standards but animation standards in general) on their current flagship series has "bad CG"💀. U don't gotta like it but c'mon sometimes the slander goes a bit far in these cases lol. I'm not as interested in the SA2 stuff so I'm jus waitin for when we get to the parts that actually matter for his current character which obv is the heroes to 06 stuff cus I'm a lil worried they'll mess that part up to appease ppl who don't know or like wut they did wit shadow in 05 & either don't get him in 06 or act like the game in "non-canon" cus of time shenanigans. I will say the addition of Emerl surprised me but that's all I can say rn.
I will tell you that Demon Slayer's 3D is on par with most anime productions. I haven't seen season 3 but the 3D fish look horrendous simply from screenshots. I hated the 3D in mugen train and season 1 liked to use 3D in places where 2D would've been better. The only good use of 3D was the rotating room but even then the actual quality of the 3D wasn't anything special.
SONIC PRIME'S character of sonic ONLY SUCKS because it is cannon Meaning that if SEGA simply got the show out of the main cannon I would start praising SONIC PRIME'S for being a fresh new take on sonic's character and NOT a character DECONSTRUCTION ..it is that easy SEGA just a finger snap
I believe having her sharing love around the world kinda fits with her character in a way, imagine this: the reason why she was in love with sonic in sonic CD is because of his desire to protect nature and the world got her in love with him and now its just her being inspired by sonic to protect the world but I think he is taking it a little political which is........... eh........
The thumbnail is just parody. But my point still stands that Ian Flynn seemed to not understand the point of the franchise. Sonic is meant to be a timeless mascot and thus certain character traits and dynamics are meant to remain untouched. Ian acting like he has to change something shows that he doesn't understand this.
@@TrueBlueOfficial True. He IS the character arc for those around him. He doesn't go on character arcs even if he may learn a new thing or two. Oh boy.
Bro this has nothing to do with the second coming of Christ in fact everything in this world will pass away at the 2nd coming pf Christ. I pray that you will have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
Former "Sonic" fan going back to the 1990s here. The source to everything surrounding the franchise, the companies themselves, and the fan base being an absolute mess all around is traced back to one thing: the Saturn era, mainly the launch outside of Japan. There was civil war between the companies in Japan, Europe, and North America. It also hurt the 3D "Sonic" game that was supposed to be the main factor for the Saturn. When "Sonic X-treme" was canceled due to development problems, things changed...starting with "Sonic Adventure" during the Dreamcast era. That is where the cycle on everything surrounding the franchise, the companies themselves, and the fan base truly started. I am exclusively a fan of the mainline 2D sprite "Sonic" games, from "Sonic 1 (16-bit)" all the way up to "Sonic Mania (Plus)". That is what I know of the best, and where I can get the high-quality experience. Outside of the golden era (or the 'sprite' era as I refer to nowadays just to be extra specific), it is literally quantity over quality. Sega and Sonic Team, along with the fan base, have no one to blame but themselves for how the franchise turned out in the long term. Extremely disappointing, but it is what it is.
his girlfriend?.. Tf you mean? If anything, they were more like siblings and and although I also find the shadow and Vegeta parallels kind of offputting, the reason why people say they’re so similar is because no, first appearances they didn’t give 2 fucks on who was right
one thing people keep overlooking is the guy who is yelling in the speakers either is or sounds suspiciously like the guy who operates the G.U.N Mobile from sa2 does this mean we’re getting him as a boss
It's sacrilegious to say that Shadow is Jesus like you did in the title but to say that his story has inspiration from Jesus' own is not. There's a whole lot to unpack about it. More then I can convey in a RU-vid comment so I guess all I can do is politely suggest that you tread lightly.
I hate the dragonball community so much because they think that toriyama invented everything 😭 toriyama didn't invent the concept of rivals or power ups or time travel stop acting like he was a 9000 iq genius i loved him and his works too but he's just a normal person
With all due respect, you mentioned why an American is writing a Japanese story. Well, why have the Japanese yet to write a good Sonic Story? They don't want to, so it's weird to even say that. SoJ doesn't know what to do with Sonic because they never had the hindsight of him lasting as long as he had, and I feel that they piggyback off of America while at the same time disregarding America's contribution to the success of the franchise (i.e., the mandates).
Except Sonic Team is still leading the charge. Sonic Frontiers story, for example, was outlined by SoJ but then the script was simply just written by Ian Flynn. But apparently there were things SoJ didn't like about the story so there's actually a significant amount of difference between the Japanese and American script. To say SoJ didn't have the hindsight is strange because Sonic was created to rival Mario. Its SEGA's mascot character. His entire conception revolved around lasting as long as he has. I don't think the mandates disregard America's contribution to the series. Its a way of keeping the brand unified. Every franchise has mandates. Godzilla has mandates, for example. When the live action One Piece was being developed, it had mandates.
@@TrueBlueOfficial no, there's tons of fictions where there are scientifical characters that don't believe in magic even when there's a magic system. I'm watching delicious in dungeon right now and in that world both magic and science exist, its just that different characters have different approaches to it. But I was referring to your ranting about feminism and Ian Flynn like wtf. I clicked on the video because I too believe they don't know what to do with Amy writing wise and I don't believe she moving on from her crush on Sonic is the solution per se, but you went a rabbit hole I didn't quite get. Personally I don't like Amy being all about girlboss, tarot cards and sharing her love to the world, I do believe she and Sonic should never end up together, and that's exactly what's makes her interesting. I see her as a shojo anime character akin to Sakura Kinomotoor Tomoyo, or Usagi from Sailor Moon. She's younger than her love interest, can't have them and is both enamored and irritated by them. She should be kind, intuitive and brave but also a bit bratty, brash and short tempered. Sonic X actually portrayed Amy really good, up until it is implied Sonic reciprocated her feelings. She finally understanding that Sonic would never settle and being ok with that is what I want to see, but I think they should lean more on her flaws instead of trying to make her too perfect and independent
@@Chibiknux And we're talking about Amy who has been exposed to magic all her life in a world that has experienced multiple massive scale events caused by gods in the modern day. With my feminism rant I prefaced a bunch of times Ian never said anything suggesting that. It was simply a hunch I felt based on how he slipped in that god and science line in frontiers. It was meant to be taken with a grain of salt. But tbh I also felt that way because I misinterpreted Ian saying Amy's obsession with Sonic felt antagonistic. But he actually didn't say that.
So, I seemed to have stumbled onto another Ian Flynn controversy. For the chat above, I would agree that what Ian said was not at best, "great", but the biggest concern I have is if they go so far as to not write relationships the right way and instead go the diversity, woke way.
This a good video that demonstrates that a dynamic like Sonic and Amy's isnt new and has worked before in other franchises. Its not somethig that needs changing. Its what mades them fun in the first place.
I agree with you that Sonic and Amy's relationship doesn't need to end their will they wont they relationship since that isn't the focus of the story and that they can still have Amy be crazy about Sonic but execute in ways where it's not the only thing or makes her look horrible. Also I agree with you about that comment that Amy said about why would an advance society believe in a god is really weird.
Question: There have been so many interpretations of these characters over the years that vary wildly(eg., Classic Amy > Modern Amy > Current Amy, SA2 Shadow > Sonic Heroes > Shadow 04 > 06 Shadow > Forces Shadow, basically every iteration of Sonic himself etc.), so what even is a correct interpretation or understanding of a character? It really just feels like people pick their versions of the characters and throw a tantrum when they're not religiously adhered to! Ian is just a writer who loves the franchise his own way. He has his favorites and unfavorites just like any Sonic fan, so if you're mad at him for writing the stories he likes then way not be mad at Sega for letting him write that way? They let him do it, so they clearly want it that way?
@@drippy42069 Because they actually haven't let him do it yet. He just put some subtle lines in the script and I feel like Sonic Team could've easily missed the intent there just like we all did when Frontiers dropped.
@@TrueBlueOfficialEvery writer puts what they like to see in their work, that's inevitable. If he went to far with the characters Sega would stop him and if they didn't that's because that is what they want. Ergo, it's not Ians fault for being a writer who writes, it's Sega's for not keeping their sh!t consistantant and on lock. Sega is the reason why Amy went from, girl next door(classic), to overbearing stalker(modern) to girlboss(boom), not Flynn. If anything, Idw Amy is the most balanced incarnation we've gotten. Which means of course it was going to piss off anyone who liked a specific interpretation. They're not gonna let Ken Penders 2.0 happen because the trauma of that event can still be felt like aftershocks. Anything "subtle" Ian slips in will be undone next game/issue/etc if not to Sega's liking. If Ian Flynn ever manages to change Amy in the way he likes, which even I don't agree with, then Sega knowingly allowed it. And if they knowingly allowed it, then that means they were probably going to do it themselves anyway.
@@drippy42069 Yeah, I did say in the video that Ian didnt pitch the idea directly to Sonic Team and if he does go too far I hope Sonic Team stops him. I'm very much aware of that but that doesn't mean I can't criticise what he wants to do even if he hasn't done it yet.
are we going to talk about how BAD this man is at sonic superstars? I just hate the fact that we are finally out of the 2010s and we have ian freaking flynn writing for sonic, and people are already hating on it.
Sometimes I feel like he doesn’t understand the series and it always feels like he’s not really into it sometimes it feels like this is like a side project for him like he feels like he could be doing something else
Kurohyō: Ryū ga Gotoku Shinshō (Japanese: クロヒョウ 龍が如く新章, "Black Panther: Like a Dragon New Chapter"), codenamed "Project K", is a video game developed by Sega along with syn Sophia and released by Sega for the PlayStation Portable (PSP) in 2010. The game was introduced on April 21, 2010 by Famitsu and is a spin-off of Sega's Yakuza series. An adaptation of the game was televised from October 5 to December 21, 2010, on Tokyo Broadcasting System. Plot On September 22, 2010, street punk Tatsuya Ukyo attempts to rob the Chinese mafia while posing as a Tojo Clan enforcer, but accidentally kills a Tojo Clan yakuza, Naoki Toda, during his escape. He is caught and brought before Toda's patriarch, Ryutaro Kuki, who introduces him to Dragon Heat, an underground fighting circuit where spectators bet on the victor. Kuki gives Tatsuya an ultimatum: earn his freedom by winning ten consecutive matches there, or be handed over to the police for murder. With no alternative, Tatsuya enters Dragon Heat. Gameplay The gameplay is focused on 1-on-1 brawling and martial arts, rather than the beat-em-up gameplay of the main Yakuza series. The combat is modeled after Def Jam Fight for NY, made by AKI Corporation (now syn Sophia), combined with elements of the main series' titles such as heat actions, overworld enemy encounters, and picking up weapons scattered around the arena. The 3D rendered gameplay uses the same kind of fixed camera system as in the first two Yakuza games on the PlayStation 2. Content Though on PSP, the game has similar mini-games to the main series, such as bowling, claw machines, and a batting center. Hostess clubs feature an interaction for a Kiss, which depends on how highly hearted the hostess is. Part-time jobs have been added for gaining money, as it is purposefully scarce in the game compared to other franchise titles. Communication mode As part of the game's multiplayer mode, a custom character is required to play online. This mode consists of missions to unlock items for character customization, and can be played either solo or cooperatively with another player. A standard VS mode can also be played among other players and teams. Fighting styles and stats are carried over from offline mode, and are based on the player's progress in the game. TV Drama A television series based on the game began airing on TBS on October 5, 2010 and ended after 11 episodes. The series spawned a sequel in 2012 based on the game's sequel, the series also ran for 11 episodes. Sequel A sequel, Kurohyō 2: Ryū ga Gotoku Ashura hen (Japanese: クロヒョウ2 龍が如く 阿修羅編, "Black Panther 2: Like a Dragon Ashura Chapter") was introduced for PSP by Ryū ga Gotoku series creator Toshihiro Nagoshi in Weekly Famitsu[6] and released in Japan on March 22, 2012. Legacy Although the game, along with its sequel, is one of the few entries in the Yakuza series which has never received an international release, interest from fans has led to the development of fan translations for both games.
