Hey everyone! My name is Cody Huss. I own a car dealership in central/northern Minnesota. I buy and repair a lot of crashed salvage cars. Rebuilding them can be quite the process sometimes, but usually rewarding in morale and profits. I have such a good time rebuilding cars that I decided it was time to share with the RU-vid community!
Located in the area, almost bought this off you after I had posted in VW Owners Facebook group. Great story hopefully I get my hands on one soon as well!
@@f1reb3ard91 about nothing haha. I also like the look. Once I put an exhaust on it, and get the light weight wheels it’ll be 3000 pounds instead of 3250 or so. Ive ran light weight wheels before and can eel them in the butt dyno with less rotating mass.
be aware if you’re doing this on a jetta or most of the lower power models the torque spec is more like 31 not 59ft-lbs i snapped one of the 6 axle screws off trying to torque them to 59ft-lbs
Ay bro I have a 07 Mk5 GTI, manual transmission, I have a quick question, driver side, the 6 screws that hold the axel on the inside keep coming loose and causing the axle to slip out ?? What can I do, get new screws??
R32 all day long! Owned a 2004 Deep Blue Pearl with a stage 2 VF ENGINEERING SUPER CHARGER lost her to SUPER STORM SANDY in 2012 😢 wish I still had her hope to get one again and make it out to Wookie in the Woods one day! 🙏 looks like fun!
I miss my mk4 1.8t gti. sure, not a "wookie", but still a fun car. not sure what space creature a wrx is, hit that's what I'm in now; however, it's still no gti...
@@ArmChairKoalaBare thanks for the comment! It’s so fun. Very fast. I love R32’s. They are my weakness. This turbo is number 607, and my other mk5 is 4604.
@@ArmChairKoalaBare when I fixed my salvage mk5, I got mine from the dealer. They had to import it from Germany, took 5 weeks. It was like $800 if I remember correct.
I have a 2015 Golf TDI, bought new. Only have 49k miles on it. Looove my TDI. Even after all the emissions updates, I still get about 50 mpg highway. Folks on the internet seem to hate VW diesels and I can't figure out why. I am hoping to get at least 300k miles out of it.
They can run forever and get good mpgs... they just get a bad rep for being dirty. I have a 2017 Chevy Colorado 2.8 diesel with 191000 miles and i run Howes diesel treatment in every other tank... it still runs great.
I am so glad that I don't own a black Jetta anymore. People would be asking if it was me. :-) Nice videos by the way. Already reserved my cabin again for next year.
Nice cars! We were out there with our reflex silver mk4 r32! It was our first time at witw. It was a great experience. We also felt like it was tough to get a feel for what's going on and make friends out there. We'll be back - maybe we'll see you in your mk5 next time :)
Hey dude, fun video! Looks like you got home safe 👍🏻 I had a 16 hour drive back to Boston so I feel your pain (minus 2 hours). That car doing a rip toward the end of the video sounded suspiciously like my Golf RSR 😁
