White person here. I grew up with, and loved soul train, and my music of choice was all things soul music. But I never saw this show! Black culture is American culture and through that became a huge part of my culture. We can’t live in a vacuum of our own color…whether we like it or not, you are me and I am you.
This song always makes me tear up, in a good way. Discovered it when I was going thru some tough tough times last year. I’ll always hold this song near and dear to my heart. Truly a masterpiece 🙏🏾❤️
This video reminds me of the times spent with my Aunts & Uncles in Trinidad 🇹🇹 . I’m glad I had that time with them , they taught me how to walk proud despite what I am going through .
Started watching Soul in 1968. It was our gateway and I never missed an episode. It was revolutionary and I hope that young people watch this doc. Especially with someone who went through those times. You will never see programming or consciousness like this again.
