Oh my God this video is so beautiful!!!!!!!!!! What happen to the one with her Daddy? Sad part about this only 15 comments and 3 million on some rap shit putting down our beautiful Queens & King
This song always makes me tear up, in a good way. Discovered it when I was going thru some tough tough times last year. I’ll always hold this song near and dear to my heart. Truly a masterpiece 🙏🏾❤️
I discovered SOUL! in 2020 and fell completely in love with seeing so many chocolate faces, some familiar and others new to me, under a light in which I had never before seen them. This program spoke to the artist, radical, and intellect in me; it opened my eyes, mind, and heart, inspiring me to continue being unapologetic about the path on which my creativity leads me. It reminds me of WHO I AM and the brilliant, beautiful people I descend from. Ellis is correct! "There is no alternative to SOUL! The BLACK seeds keep on growing." 🙌🏾🙌🏾🖤🖤🖤🖤 I am privileged to wear this melanin, carry my ascendents with me always, and will do my part to increase the harvest of our gardens. We grow and go on forever! 🖤🖤🙌🏾🙌🏾👑👑 RIP, Mr. Haizlip: thank you for your vision, spirit, and opening the door for people of color in the world of television. Love and peace to you and everyone we have lost along the way. ✌🏾✊🏾✌🏾✊🏾✌🏾✊🏾✌🏾✊🏾
Beautiful song and performance of it! And the video brings back so many memories of watching this show every week, fascinated, inspired and SO proud to be Black!
Kings and queens this song is telling you who you are you more than a star you a king and you a queen so what she’s telling you is you are a Hebrew Israelite You are the chosen people you are from the tribe of Judah
Heard this for the first time yesterday and immediately became one of my favorite songs. Another Robert Glasper masterpiece with Lalah Hathaway. Ready & waiting on Black Radio 3.
This video reminds me of the times spent with my Aunts & Uncles in Trinidad 🇹🇹 . I’m glad I had that time with them , they taught me how to walk proud despite what I am going through .
Started watching Soul in 1968. It was our gateway and I never missed an episode. It was revolutionary and I hope that young people watch this doc. Especially with someone who went through those times. You will never see programming or consciousness like this again.
