See mines throwing the same code but it's not broken. When my epc light and or check engine light comes on i loose boost and it drives like shit but if the lights are off it drives perfectly fine
My sonata makes a quick knock noise when I first started up and making knocking noise between 2500 RPMs up to 3500 RPMs. It’s been doing it for a little while. Any thoughts?
@kemisthekid- This is exactly what I was looking for, the only thing I am missing as per Manual is How Do we set the camshaft at the bottom position when putting back the cam roller ?
@kemisthekid8782 - I hear the same rattling noise, which likely means the cam follower is bad, but how do I know for sure if it just needs a cam follower replacement OR cam follower plus HPP. No check engine light btw
Unbelievable footage, great camera angles and clarity. Thank you so much, I was apprehensive, now I'm sure I can handle the repair. Question, should I lubricate the rod before reinstalling it?
Is it a must to change the Camshaft follower? I changed the pump but same issue, the truck doesn't want to go over 5-10 MPH without wanting to stall out or no acceleration at all, I'm getting exhaust out of my pipe, so I'm guessing not a bad catalytic converter. Just frustrating.
the welder would know exactly what to do and how to weld it together. I don't know if it's aluminum but the welder will make it stronger so won't break again.
I’m about to make the same repair I’m a professional weldor 5years stainless or carbon steel most likely stainless if anything use a mixed rod to weld it can promise u it’s not aluminum the housing is for sure.
When I accelerate from a stop my car makes a raspy noise, like it is old and struggling. Any ideas of why? So far I have removed my valve cover and going to put new gaskets on it, they were leaking, I was told by the parts person at Hyundai that the high pressure fuel line had to be replaced, a one and done part. It cost 70 bucks, but I cannot figure out how to remove the bracket.
@@kemisthekid8782 For now until I can find it, when you remove the 19 m/m bolt that holds the aluminum tube onto the High Pressure fuel pump, if you follow that tube from the HP pump to the motor block that is where the bracket is that holds the tubing. I was trying to put a new Aluminum tube in. Thanks for the help.
Hi Great video. Does the cam follower supposed to have a slight rattle or ticky noise. When I removed mine to inspect it I shook it gently and it sounded like something moves in it. Would that be defective?
@@kemisthekid8782 Yes I do have a ticking noise when Its in idle. I have now a brand new HPFP, so I took out the cam follower and inspected it, and gave it a little shake and it rattles. I was wondering if you ever had observed that or is it normal for it to do that?
Hello 👋 Mechanic replaced fuel pump camshaft follower in my kia optima 2.0T. Only after that fuel pump started making metal noise:( What can be the reason? Sounds like something is lose inside but works fine…
Has a single mom of three boys I fix everything on my vehicle so I can show them how to do it I got stumped earlier cuz I didn't have the tool to release the high pressure. Went and got the tool and now watching your video I greatly appreciate you I can't afford to ask somebody to do it for me so why not do it and then teach others!
I appreciate your positive feedback and I'm glad my video helped you. I will be posting more videos in the near future and please don't hesitate to check them out. we need to help each other out with all the bs that's going on in this world. I can already tell that you're a awesome mom. keep researching and fixing any obstacles that come your way. have a blessed day cool mom.
