Well yeah, that's the... whole point of F1. You can add as much power and torque as you want, but until you can take corners at almost the same speed as going straight, you can forget it.
I saw a Ford Falcon(?) V8 supercar at a Britcar event at Snetterton. It was an absolute monster, so different from the GT stuff. The Bathurst is top of my bucket list.
the fastest lap in 2014 was 1 minute and 32 seconds. in 2022, before they made some layout changes it was 1 minute 20 seconds. It would be amazing to watch another comparison with the successors of these cars.
obviously not if you listened, the idea for them to start at different times is so they all ended up having the same straight line to the finish line because they're obviously different
