probeble the best of his class, and i own one ( Honda Jazz Crosstarhybrid 2024 ) and most of us do not need more car.like this car and will drive it for a long time.😀😀😀😀
Awesome review! The RZ would be perfect for me since my daily commute is less than 35 miles. Any longer trips would be in my plug-in hybrid. I love the Lexus interior comfort and features. I’m thinking of getting an RZ in 2025. Great review and great video, I look forward to watching your other videos!
This video was supposed to show us what? How it can slide down some sand sideways? Exactly how did the mentioned 50mm suspension height or "clever" maneuvering help here? Suspension height had little to do with this decent, nor was this anything clever on the part of the driver..try the same thing, same angle and severity of slide somewhere in BC, Alberta, or Colorado in the winters, with trees waiting for you are the end of the hill..
The Chinese vehicle manufacturers have the most modern, robotic manufacturing and construction facilities on the planet, that’s how they’re pushing out vehicles at such low prices. Tesla are having their latest batteries supplied by BYD’s battery arm. Toyota made agreements three years ago to use the BYD drive platforms. The next RAV4, Yaris new generation hybrid is byd drive platform with a Toyota body shell dropped on it.
I gave it a test drive yesterday and sadly the NZ market does not have diesel 4x4 version. That version has a drive mode button far right but the NZ version it is not there. That drive mode is crucial cos you can change to a softer suspension mode as the default mode is too firm for NZ roads. The steering is also too light, giving you as the driver a console gamer experience rather than a real world feel. The turning indicator sound makes it feel like you are driving a small toy. Finally if you are 6 foot or taller you have to lower to minimum and recline your seat a bit so you can have decent head clearance but it still feels like your eyeline has the roof rim in your driver sight. To save the middle row passenger with your driver seat reclined you have to push driver seat forward…so it’s a weird driving position for tall people and certainly not one where you feel in control. If you are 6 foot or taller in the middle row the seat must be reclined but because you are close to the roof your vision forward is not the best with the front roof rim in your eyeline. The gaps when the back seats are down are not ideal. Brakes felt a bit touchy but that could be me. I was planning to buy but the suspension and inability to soften it in the petrol version was the main factor turning me off as compared to my significantly older Nissan car and van and the ford and Toyota work vehicles I drive the mahindra suspension was the worst. I tried to put it down to sporty suspension but my daughters bmw m sport has firmer suspension yet absorbs nicely the small annoying bumps that the mahindra did not. Even on smooth roads the mahindra was too hard.
im in Toronto and it's about $52k but in Montreal it about $37K with rebates. Im only 5 hours away from montreal and don't understand why i don't get the same price??
@@TarmacLife China is at war with the west funding Russias war in Europe. Very easy for me to ignore. With exception of maybe BYD no idea if many of these EV players will still be around in the future. Chinas manufacturing strategy of keeping everything in China is not good as service parts could take months. Given low profit margins chinese companies make I wouldn’t expect a more premium dealer experience. Resale on Chinese made cars suck as well. All around not great. So much more to a car than entry price. I’d rather have a used Tesla.
@@Xibao88890 Not going to discuss politics here. As for vehicles, China is on the rise as both as numerous Chinese brand manufacturers (Chery, BYD, SAIC...) and also where other, more traditional brands are opting to manufacture. Including the ('Tesla Shanghai Super Factory') (also known as Giga Shanghai, or Gigafactory 3) manufacturing plant in Shanghai. As for longivity - I guess we'll have to wait and see.
@@TarmacLife ….unfortunately you can’t separate politics from Chinese state controlled companies like BYD as they are ultimately funded and controlled by communist dictatorship. Tesla on other hand is doing manufacturing in China but is not controlled by CCP. But hey it’s a free world and if your conscience is ok funding a dictatorship who funds enemies of the west it’s ok. I just could never do that. Too long people have ignored what CCP is doing .
@@Xibao88890 sorry the Chinese will not sell their cars to genocidal people like you even if you pay them 1 million USD for a BYD, while the rest of us will enjoy the quality of life experience with the Chinese cars 🥰
I’m onsidering between this and the Kia Sportage. Not sure if Jaecoo will depreciate too quickly or hold its value well. In saying that, the features you get for the price point are incredible compared to the competition. Great review thank you. Would have been good to hear more of the things you didn’t like about the car which helps to make an informed decisions 👍🏽
Thanks for watching and the support. Not sure about depreciation (too soon really) but great value. As for faults, pretty minimal.the rear view mirror is odd. The acceleration is snatchy sometimes but hard to fault without being really picky.
We were getting just over the 5L/100km mark when the battery was at 25%

This car is in Thailand about 30-40% cheaper than a similar sized Honda CR-V. I assume a huge success for BYD because many Thais want an EV but also don't like the charging stress on long journeys. The charging infrastructure is not bad, but there are normally only 2 charging points per location which leads to long waiting times during long weekends. I like the idea of a EREV, but is should have a large battery (150 km of real world range). I use a BYD Dolphin as the daily commuter, but we kept the Mazda CX-8 for the long trips (500-700 km) to the family.
Thanks for watching and comments. Agree with you on the powertrain flexibility and sure more range is always welcome but NZ commutes are under 25km so this suits well (provided you have a home charger).

@@TarmacLife Agree! EVs are now quite popular in Thailand. But they are mostly used for daily commute and as taxis. Most buyers bought it as a second car. But not everybody can afford 2 cars. An EREV allows a cheap daily commute and stress-free occasional long trips.
The MG 4 is simply my pick. Omoda E5 is worth considering as long as I choose the model that have multi-link rear, yes you gotta watch out on tech specs. I'd go for E5 EX. It's hard to ignore MG 4's lower ride position as it have lower centre of gravity.
what is the funtion of the "battery assist? in the Netherlands its maybee classified as hybrid with discount on BPM tax.........because of the 16kw battery power/assist?
This is a mild hybrid here, so it's function is basically to save fuel (start/stop) and fill in gaps for power. It's an ISG system so no real EV-only drive.
Great show of the capabilities of the Everest. Also could not have been done with any better scenery, brought back some great memories of trips to the Kruger
Thanks for your comments. They are besically 2 different powertrain with the X trail having a more EV style to it and this one being more traditional ICE based.
Gawd damn this thing is uglier than ugly 🤮. Cant get my head around the fact that people sat around a table and said.. yes! This is it! This is the design we've been looking for all these years! 🤦♂️🤦♂️
Love it - looks are sooo subjective. In fairness, it's not too far from the previous model in terms of looks, but a much better ride and tech from there on.

Mark 1.15 15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Hebrews 11:6 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Jesus
Omoda looks hard to beat. Anyone got feedback on the company's reputation for spare parts availability, and dealing with warranty claims etc? Some car companies are terrible and some are helpful.
