I was on a mission to find what dark blonde would look like with Bettie bangs and I found you! I’m so happy. I’m on a journey to grow my black hair out and was wondering what my hair would look like. Anyway, thank you!😊
Loving my natural dark blonde now after all these years. You can also spot my brief copper phase on the channel during my transition from the box dye black. Bring on more Bettie Page vibes of all hair colours! xo
Damn! I’ve always wanted to find a way to do side part or waves even though I have Bettie bangs but unfortunately I have an abnormally tiny forehead so instead of my bangs being maybe 2.5-3” mine are barely an inch when cut right at my brows. I’ve finally accepted that I have to commit to Bettie bangs or commit to long bangs 😢
This app is great, thanks for sharing. I have been professionally (online) analysed as Warm Spring but apps usually type me an autumn, but this one was spot on and love the wardrobe feature
Yay! So glad it's worked for you. This app is no joke, I literally consult it before any clothing purchase - including fabric for sewing and yarn for knitting projects.
This just popped up on my feed. Lovely to see a pin up wardrobe that isn’t black dominated-fellow warm spring here! And Aussie 🇦🇺 I have a red petticoat that never gets worn so you’ve inspired me!
YEW! So stoked to be on your feed and glad you found this video :) If I had endless wardrobe space (because they are bulky!) I would have a petticoat for all the colours of the rainbow, but my versatility focused brain has stopped me at white and black lol. Go wear (and flash) that red petticoat with pride!
oh thank you for your kind words. just going through a season in life where I have had to focus my attention on other tasks. More videos will come eventually - I promise :)
These are THE BEST. For anyone who finds this video, these are not your typical side comb, they are phenomenal. I'm also in Australia and after learning about these from pinup forums, 10 years ago I ordered a set of 2 medium and 2 small from eBay - and paid only A$14 including shipping. Times have definitely changed 😭 My combs have also seen extremely heavy use over a DECADE and are still performing well. I get so many compliments on my hair and it's just the combs doing the heavy lifting!
@@anh3634 strange? Perhaps worth directly contacting the seller. However, the ones I stock from Good Hair Days for AU/NZ distribution are all the same size no matter the colour
Hi Renae! These long hair styles are beautiful! I have grip-tuth combs & didn’t even know they could bend. 😂 I just did the first style and it’s beautiful!!! Thanks so much for the demonstrations.🥰 Btw ~ your have the most GORGEOUS long hair with such fabulous vintage curls!!!👸🏻
Hey Angela! Oh I am so stoked you tried out these hairstyles! It takes a bit of getting used to how much hair to put in the twist but I was so impressed how secure it is once you get it right.
Yep! Can tell why I have been so apprehensive about trying out these styles! Just with a bit more practice and knowing exactly how much of my hair the comb in the twist can handle this technique may be the foundation for my updos from now on :)
this video came at a perfect time right into my youtube feed... 12 hours later..... *buzzzzzz* I have Betty bangs :) I even asked my husband to cut the rest of my hair in a U shape using the beard trimmer and it feels soooo good. My own personal hairdresser ha! Thanks for influencing me ;)
totally up to you! when I first started collecting hair flowers they were all roses and orchids. then I started looking at vintage 1930s and 1940s hairflower hairstyles and found hair clip makers who specialised on these more dainty vintage inspired flowers. I love that my hair flower collection now has a wide range of blooms to suit pretty much every outfit and occasion
Thanks for this vid😍. I found a hairdresser who cuts me a modified midi plus, so it’s still a horse shoe at the back but with less severely short layers towards the front. It does make vintage curling easier and looks authentic. The style is not great when uncurled but I don’t mind, as I have it such that the front layers are long enough to tuck behind the ears.
yay! its amazing how just taking a couple of haircut features from a vintage cutting guide can be a game changer for styling. Good idea to have the front layers longer!
I was thinking about getting a middy inspired bob. I don’t think I’d like the bangs tho. I also hate not being able to pull my hair back and having hair in my face. I definitely need something that looks decent unstyled.
Great video! Your hair looked great with the cut with the bangs. I have naturally curly hair (3b) So I am so scared of the haircut HAHAH Thank you again for the video.
thank you for watching :D my hair is like 2A/B so not much curl but I can do a very lazy curly girl method and scrunch to get my waves to set in. I have a full private Pinterest board on wavy french bob hairstyles to inspire me when I do cut it short again - hoping it would have enough layers to do a cute curl set but also be easy enough to wear with natural hair texture. But if you have more natural curl than me perhaps a modified middy cut may sit really pretty with your curl texture.
Thank you so much for this video! It is exactly what I needed. I am an avid knitter and also love vintage/retro/pinup styles and I haven't had the chance to see many resources that provide instruction on how to marry the two interests on styling.
Thank you for watching and Hello Friend :) Two other RU-vidrs that have great vintage style and knitting content are 'Engineering Knits' and 'TashaCouldMakeThat' if you haven't come across them yet :)
I found the results of this app so all over the place, in fact it has confused me even more with my colos. But then realized that the choices of the hair colors had been messing up my results. I didn't really identify with any of them, looked bleach blonde grey or grayer then brown. Thank you for the response 🙏 Great video. Thank you for helping with my color journey 💕
oh no! I am so sorry to hear you are having trouble with your colour analysis. Myself and a few friends only got some variation between for example bright and warm spring but not complete different seasons. I know the developer takes great pride in her app - ill reply to her comment on this video below in the hopes she may be able to help you. xo
Hello from the US!👋😊 I’m a fellow lover of all things vintage!!!🌺 Thank you so much for your very informative video’s / tutorials / content. Your upbeat personality makes them a joy to watch!☺️
Hey from Aus! Thank you for watching my videos and taking the time to write this lovely comment :) Glad to see not everyone is put off with my bogan daggy personality lol
Im in the uk! Its quite available here.....except when i was tasked on finding some for my sister for her wedding haha! Ive been using it on and off since I was 17. Xxx
Thank you for showing it isn’t completely perfect! I’ve been looking for trouble-shooting and people using it to get a better idea of how to get better results (because I’m not used to makeup, I just love black lipstick) Btw, I found my bottle of it in a Boots in England, so it’s not impossible to find depending on where you are in the world- presumably it’s harder to get/find outside America or the UK
yes it's not a perfect solution but the fact that I can get longer wear and less transfer from my fav creme lipsticks is amazing. lucky! yeah it was readily available in our Australian drug stores years ago and then literally none could be found in the country and the sites I did find from UK/USA didn't ship to Aus! With black lipstick i highly recommend you have your lip health in tip top shape first so you avoid any cracking or drying out from the lipstick and then the lipcote. check out this video i did recently: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RyCFU5GOoOM.htmlsi=-IyJnelDrx_tzpbX
I agree with most of what you say. Something you've touched upon briefly without using the word: Telling people not to buy fast fashion at all is also a kind of gatekeeping, of keeping people that don't have access to or can't afford brands and/or vintage pieces out of the community. And then there's another aspect: Unfortunately, a high pricetag doesn't guarantee a high quality. For example: I like to wear very thin, matte "nude" pantihoses, the ones with 15 DEN. The cheap ones had snags after a couple of wears, so I tried out more expansive brands. But even though I paid 15 euros per pantihose, they still snagged, because they are delicate things. So I went back to the cheap ones.
100% agree about gatekeeping in the 'cancel fast fashion' movement. We have a very popular high end designer vintage/pinup inspired brand in Australia with a cult following, and yes pricetags do not represent quality all of the time, as a sewer I was so disappointed to see that in some seams they didn't even tie off or backstitch the threads, ribbon embellishments were completely raw and waiting for a washing unraveling mess, just to name a few. I would hate to think people are saving all their money to purchase high end and vintage clothing that will not work for them or will not see the light of day.
I have been looking everywhere for a petticoat like the black one where it not got hundreds of layers , I know you said ebay but what did you search for as everything I see has multiple layers x any help much appreciated thanks for this video about to spend the evening taking your course ❤❤❤❤
Hey! Funny enough that black one was actually an 'ebay fail' as the listing I purchased from showed a regular 2-3 layer fluffy petticoat and what arrived was a very lightweight single layer. But I have gotten heaps of use out of it as it adds the silhouette under a skirt without adding too much volume. If I ever come across one that is advertised as a single layer I will let you know!
I found this listing on Etsy? www.etsy.com/au/listing/672437579/single-tiered-net-petticoat-1-layer?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=single+petticoat&ref=sr_gallery-1-4&sts=1&organic_search_click=1
@SunshineCoastPinupSchool I love it when a fail ends up turning out to be a bigger win 🏆 exactly the reason you talked about where is gives a little something something without to much volume is why I am hunting down a single layer x x Thanks so much for the reply and again very helpful video x thank you
As I have straight thick hair and a cowlick at one temple, I find that sectioning my bangs horizontally in halves or thirds for trimming (and styling) makes things go smoother. I also use a thinning shears every few months to thin out the chunkier bits.
