Lipcote lipstick sealer has been around since the 1950's and is my go-to product to turn your favourite 'ride or die' regular lipstick into a long wearing and transfer proof lip colour. I am so stoked you can now get Lipcote in Australia from some select online retailers - I've left the links below.

Im in the uk! Its quite available here.....except when i was tasked on finding some for my sister for her wedding haha! Ive been using it on and off since I was 17. Xxx

How long do you think is safe to keep and use lipcote? I'm sure I have one from like 4 or 5 years ago back when it was more available and wasn't sure if it would still be safe to use?

I just checked the cardboard packaging and there is a shelf life icon of 12M meaning 12 months from opening. However, I'm honestly terrible with keeping to those time frames and use my best judgement if things are spoiled. I know I had my last Lipcote for about 2-3 years before it was tinted so red and started to smell like lipstick and I threw it out without thinking I wouldn't be able to just go to the shops to get a new one! I would say to eer on the side of caution being that old... if it doesn't smell like a freshly opened nail polish and if there is any separation of the liquid I would say its best to get a new one.

@@SunshineCoastPinupSchool OK great, thanks for the advice. I might just get a new one. I usually follow the guidelines on the packaging but I know nail polishes can last way longer so thought this may be similar but its going on lips so best to be safe. Thanks again! 😊

Thank you. Will it break down drinking wine? And can you reapply lipstick over top if it is breaking down, then another coat of the Lipcote?

Do you also use a lipstick primer underneath the lipstick?

Thank you for showing it isn’t completely perfect! I’ve been looking for trouble-shooting and people using it to get a better idea of how to get better results (because I’m not used to makeup, I just love black lipstick) Btw, I found my bottle of it in a Boots in England, so it’s not impossible to find depending on where you are in the world- presumably it’s harder to get/find outside America or the UK

yes it's not a perfect solution but the fact that I can get longer wear and less transfer from my fav creme lipsticks is amazing. lucky! yeah it was readily available in our Australian drug stores years ago and then literally none could be found in the country and the sites I did find from UK/USA didn't ship to Aus!
