We are a Guildford-based internet seller of motorcycle clothing with a shop attached to our warehouse.
We started producing videos in Lockdown, but from the outset our priority was to try to educate people about bike gear and how it works. We also wanted to make our reviews as honest as possible, highlighting the flaws in a product as well as its strengths.
Our physical shop is small, yet the amount of merchandise we have over the three floors of our warehouse technically makes this the best stocked shop in the UK. But it is a different kind of shop. Less than 10% of our range is on display, and there are no prices on anything. Sometimes you have to wait in our Waiting Room until there is somebody free to look after you. Frankly, it’s not the kind of shop you visit merely to browse. Our aim is to help you find the best gear for your kind of riding. And we won’t let you take something if it doesn’t fit. If that’s the kind of service you want, come and see us.
Most important consideration is getting the helmet to fit you. I have tried arai many times but can't find one that fits well. Shoei just fits my head.. However, I recently switched from neotec 2 to agv tour modular. Largely because again the AGV fits my head better. The quality is not quite on par with the shoei but it is also hundreds less. Also I like the agv because it's a cardo integration.. I do wish shoei had more locations that did the super custom fit service.
Nxr2 is a great helmet but I don’t i just don’t like the built in intercom option they offer. It looks quite bad. Nowhere near how GT-Air 3 built in intercom looks. Hope they update it at some point.
The C5’s visor is dog 💩. I’ve had 2 visors replaced and to try and get the pinlock to work is hit and miss. It’s not just me google it the C5 has had a lot of issues with this. Build quality is poor compared to what I’m used to (Arai / Shoei). Won’t buy another schuberth my next flip will be a Shoei.
I once crashed a bike at Donnington doing about 130mph wearing a Crowtree leather suit. I got up and walked away with only a small friction burn on my elbow where the armour had moved. Depends how you ride and where I suppose.
Chris, Chap in the Cap. Love your videos. But, every time you mispronounce KLIM, it stands out to me. KLIM is pronounced like “clime” as in climate. I expect you have gotten this feedback before. Here’s a video from KLIM where the company founders pronounce the name of their firm correctly. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tbSbgCDsc3s.htmlsi=Ak7i5Ygzq2_o1Ri3 Sorry to be picky, but I am sure credibility is important to Motolegends and pronouncing the name of one of your key product lines correctly can only be a good thing. Keith
Rukka have issues with honouring warranties. A good friend of mine had the zip go on his Nivala jacket in under two years. Tran Am turned down his claim because when they examined the jacket they found a small hole in the sleeve of the jacket and this , even though it had no bearing on the zip failure, was enough for them to refuse the claim. That's one person who won't buy Rukka again.
17:55 WTF are you talking about with "no downsides to flip-up helmets"?!? The two things that disqualify flip-ups for serious riding are: #1 - Safety - the hinged jaw is far more likely to fail than the one in full-face. Not to mentioning user-error susceptibility not closing the latch properly. After you've went on a long rant about sh!tiness of open-face helmets few minutes earlier, it's really weird that few minutes on suddenly it's not a non-issue for you. #2 - Weight and bulk - the hinge system has to necessarily add weight and bulk to the helmet, causing poorer balance and more fatigue. So again - WTH are you on about?
I got one 1984. Best l have ever had, by a lot. I work in the industry and have worn over 40 by now. You just do not get wet in a Rukka. You can sweat a lot in one.
I am a lady and have had two Shoei NXR helmets as they come in xxs, they have been fantastic helmets. Next year I will need to replace one so will go for a PSF fit on a new NXR2.
Been using our LS2 Valiant II both on our VFR 800 as well as Tiger 800. Why we chose this particular helmet is that the chin bar goes back 180* almost all the way to the back, and not just halfway like many other modular helmets, which causes some backwards drag when open. And when coming off a freeway into a town like setting is awesome, changing from a full face to an open face helmet. Greetings from South Africa.
Marrakesh jacket is completly sold out in Europe (esp. M and L sizes) and for quite long time...what's going on? Buying it from Motolegends...there are customs fee, etc...tnx Brexit )
That’s one of the issues with Klim. They don’t keep stock. Retailers have to pre buy and take the risk. We still have plenty of Marrakesh jackets on all sizes and colours as we committed to large quantities. You do, of course, save the VAT when you buy from Europe.
"Buckle up" he said. "Ooh, I'm in for a good one" I thought - and I wasn't disappointed. Knowledgeable, to the point and exquisitively delivered. Thank you.
That was a lot of info on my favorite brand , they only downside on modular helmets , for me anyway, is the weight, but I’m sure if I wore one for awhile I’d get used to it!!
Modular helmets are actually so much worst in accidents. A lot of EMTs say that it's almost as bad as a half shell or open faced helmet because it gives way when you hit the floor
Try saying Rukkakurapuku three times quickly. I haven't had a Rukka suit since I was like 6 or 7 (here they are mostly known for their kids' rain-wear) and now that I started riding at 35 I'm definitely looking to get some Rukka gear. They have an obvious home turf advantage here in Finland because it rarely gets too warm for laminated gear so it almost works as an everyday wear. It's nice to see Rukka appreciated globally.
I don't understand the negativity towards the Stadler suit. You sold me one a couple of years ago and it is the best I have had - really comfortable and well fitting. It feels incredibly secure and well made. Jacket ventilation is pretty good with all the vents open although I admit the trousers could do with more. I have an older Rukka Navigatorr suit and I much prefer the feel and fit of the Stadler which was also notably less expensive (but not cheap) than the Rukka kit at the time.
I do not believe that I was rude about Stadler. In fact, just the contrary; I stated that their gear was superb and that, in different circumstances, I would have been claiming that Stadler made the best gear. However, I felt that I could not do this because of the way their new jackets fitted. This is why we are not currently offering any Stadler jackets; and this decision has nothing to do with their functionality. We did return a number of Treasure Pro jackets to Stadler for this reason. We only sold a very few of these before we returned the stock, so that's probably not the jacket you wear.
@@Motolegends I said negative, not rude. You are correct though as I have the Supervent 3 jacket (which is still showing on your website) and which I am very happy with. It's a shame that sizing issues have stopped you selling Stadler - for the time being at least.
My partner rides pillion and we ride in all but the depths of Winter. She has a problem of always eventually feeling cold, even in the summer. I’m sure there are many men and women that are the same. We bought a top range Rukka with both the down trouser and puffer jacket to wear underneath. She’s never been cold or wet since and, the heated gear only now required if we head north into Scandinavia. Unlike Chris, I’m not qualified to give an expert opinion and rattle the troops, but what I can say is that we were given the right advice and the problem was fully resolved 👍😎
Great video as always Chris. A bit of topic but as you mentioned Scott's id like to add that i purchased Scott's jacket and pants on your recommendation and it was the best purchase ive ever made.iv never been drier. Its so good i wear that while i work. I work on building sites and could be in the rain all day. Scott's work perfectly. However i think Scott's have missed an opportunity. Scott's jackets don't have huds or pockets for obvious reasons but they should provide a hat to match the jacket for those of us who don't only use there gear for riding in. Dog walkers etc would probably love a hat thats made from same material as the jacket and pants. Why stop there! Gloves too, not riding gloves just walking around waterproof gloves
Rukka kit is generally good quality. Where the problem begins is if you have an issue with a garment. You are then at the mercy of their importer (TranAm/Bikerheadz). Rukka and TranAm have poor customer aftercare. I was in the trade, dealt with them both, and won’t be buying Rukka again.
I have the Nivala 2 and what he says, when he’s not bitching to @bennetts_bike , simply does not apply to everyone. I am warm & very dry in winter rain, and never hot in uk summer temps with it on and a T shirt as the vents are very effective. As for hotter euro clims, i take it too for poor weather and next day it is totally dry and ready again and if its hot hot out comes my knox mesh jkt. I also feel good about the large armour in Rukka. Generally, he misses the point if Rukka being ready the next day after a downpoor the previous day. But there again, im sure his Scott clothing sales is paying him well…
Sorry. You should not be making excuses for £1000 Jackets being single A rated. Big armour is no substitute for a decent jacket chassis. I won't be buying another Rukka until they significantly raise their game. We should be demanding 4A and 5A tests in the next regulation updates.
I agree - and if you buy such an expensive gear and after a slide you need to buy another one because the garment is through, no way. I saw 1000PS (Austrian channel) showing a guy with 300.000km on his Stadler suit, 2 slides and only minor repairs done in Germany at Stadler on that, and the Stadler costs nearly the same.
@@martinsgarten5280 Well, probably Stadler pays 20% commission to retailers, while Rukka 40%? I have no idea, but there must be a reason that some manufacturers are promoted so much everywhere despite clear disadvantages (safety, price or other).
