They say that "life is good" and it's true! It's even better lived in the great outdoors!!!
If you love fishing, camping, hiking, kayaking, hunting, and all around fun in the outdoors then this is the channel for you!!
My name is Kyle. If you enjoy the outdoors, I think you'll really enjoy the videos that I will share here. I have over 40 years of outdoors experience. I certainly don't know everything, but I'll do my best to share what I do know. I encourage others to comment, share and offer their advice and experiences as well! Look for a new video each week!
I think I saw a comment that mentioned another 2 motors that have different hp rating, but they are essentially the same motor with these parts that are different, but I can't remember which ones.
If you mind, what rod and reel are you using for the trolling setup? I’ve only fished the spillway and creek for Muskies but I’d like to troll the lake if possible in the future
This is an older video, and I still use the one rod, but I don’t think they make it anymore. If you watch a recent video and look in the description you will see links to what I use now.
Great Engine! Suzuki is making a name for themselves from small Outboards to the Big Outboards! One of the most reliable motors on the market. If I ever repower my Mercury 115 4 stroke I will change to a Suzuki. Great video Kyle!
Thanks Jon! Before I bought this, I did a lot of research. Came across a review from a marine mechanic in Florida and he said if a customer who does his own maintenance buys a Suzuki he’s never going to see that motor again. That was pretty convincing! 👍
No, when the water temperature gets to 80 and above I don’t fish for muskies. Alum Creek Lake will have dangerously high water temperatures this weekend! I usually try to find a creek with a spring or a river with cooler water temps.
You will never convince me the ECM for the 9.9 and a 20 hp has a price difference. So a 9.9 and a 20 should have a similar initial price. Can you imagine how Suzuki could dominate the market for 20s.
I'm sure they are similarly priced as components. However, the market will dictate that they can price the 20 higher. That to me is just common business sense.
@@Dark30Outdoors The way I look at it is add 200 bucks to the 9.9 and they would dominate the 20 hp market and gain overall market share, and have more Suzukis on more boats, which would introduce the consumer to the brand and the more profitable larger hp motors.
No, I don’t think livescope is as easy as experienced people make it look. Ideally, I’d like to upgrade to a nicer boat. I’d maybe consider a ffs unit down the road, but I realize it takes time to learn it.
I’ve done what you are doing in this video. It was fun for a while but I sold my live sonar because it just didn’t seem ethical to me for the sport or the fisheries. Had HUGE days in Ohio using it. I just couldn’t get over how easy it was to cherry pick fish. Anyone can do this after a little time behind the screen. Not many sticks grinding it out the old fashion way anymore. I guess I just really miss the way musky fishing was before FFS…
That’s cool. I certainly respect your opinion. I see the exact same as live sonar for ice fishing which has been around for 30 years and I’ve never heard anyone say anything bad about that.
@@Dark30Outdoors I’ve seen some of your other videos and enjoy them ! I know that you already know that most species targeted in ice fishing can somewhat handle the pressure, but with limited natural reproduction, delayed mortality, and other issues ( let’s face it muskies are sensitive ) muskies seem quite vulnerable to this technology. I guess as long as Ohio keeps dumping a fish per acre in every year there shouldn’t be an issue, but most places aren’t as fortunate. But there’s no denying that FFS has certainly made finding and catching musky quite a simple task compared to life prior to live sonar. The learning curve has shortened significantly. If I hadn’t used it myself for a good while I don’t know what my opinion would be honestly, but having used it very effectively, I just don’t see it as something that’s good for the sport of musky fishing. Time will tell I guess…
