World Record Whitetail Buck Poached? - Alexander Buck from Ohio

Just my thoughts on the buck that appears to have been poached. I did not include any pictures or video of the actual buck or rack in the video on purpose. It can be seen by doing a simple search for the CJ Alexander buck. If it had been harvested legally it was a very serious contender for the new world record typical whitetail buck!

A lot of hunters (and fisherman) don't respect the game enough and are ready to cross those boundaries for a trophy. I really hope in his case that he didn't cheat and that it was an honest mistake. I agree with you 100%. I hope the buck was legal but its so so many odd circumstances behind this buck. His wife or gf dropped him off with a borrowed bow abs stand to hunt 30 acres of his half sisters land which is technically only 8 acres ive heard(big difference). He shot the buck and then slept half the morning the next day and his buddie wouldn't come help him until he heard from him. They supposedly found the buck at like 11-12am but every single photo is after dark. Even the ones which seem like the deer is very fresh. So no, it doesnt look logical. Now enter those that say hes innocent. The majority of these people dont own land and dont have to deal with trespassing. So they think hes innocent and everyone is jealous. Thats fine, everyone has a opinion. But these wardens arent going to sieze a buck unless they have evidence. If the night photos are from the next afternoon they will be time stamped. It should be hard proof the deer is poached or legal. More than likely, he wasnt on property, deer moved and well you know the rest. Again if its legal thats great but i know of ZERO people that shoot a 230 inch buck and dont take a single daylight picture of the buck that day. They piddle around and decide to have a photo shoot in the dark. Tell me one that does this lol. Hell, even a 130 inch buck would have photos right after they found

The only thing that makes me wonder, if he did take it illegally why is he talking so much on podcasts and etc. Saw another article they said this buck was seen alot locally? In a cemetery? But in Virginia we have a poaching case that involves a buck over 200 killed from a cemetery. So I'm not sure if someone has stories mixed up or if that buck cj got was in fact known by locals there? I listened to it as well. I see it differently. Also, why would they put a pinned comment on their podcast saying he confessed to poaching if it wasn't true when they actually met the guy? That doesn't strike you as odd?

@@cman504 No, they never announce the finalization until everything is all said and done such as the fine assessment and the judge signing off on the confession and some other details finalized. I personally think he is legal. All the speculation that it was poached is crap. So what he took pictures in the dark, that proves nothing. He should not be put under the microscope just because it is a big buck. I really wish people would leave him alone and let him enjoy the harvesting of a world class animal.

I think the Ohio Department of Natural Resources would not confiscate a rack from someone unless they had a really good case! It isn’t just because pictures were taken at night or trail camera pictures.

I think it's fascinating that you feel 2 young guys can't get a deer out of the woods in the middle of the night. This buck could have been legit killed, but it could have been poached. I don't know and you don't either. I find it very odd on one of the podcasts that he was on he said and I quote, "if I come out good on this". That doesn't sound very convincing to me.
