I'm a DIYer and a woodworker. I like to work with different materials from time to time, not just wood. I started out with no tools, money, or experience. The first thing I made was a headboard for my bed using a few borrowed tools, some 2x4 lumber, and RU-vid. Since then, I've had the itch to make more things and get better, slowly acquiring tools and watching all the RU-vid. All of it. I recently started recording what I'm making to help inspire others to make something too!
Hi Can tou tell me what was the tickness and width of the leg ? And also the thickness of the spacers under the desk between the leg and the drawers please ? Thanks
Beautiful board, how is it going 3 years later? Easiest way to get the thicknesser marks out is initial sanding gets done with a belt sander and 60 grit belt. End grain is a pain to sand
I've been watching these all week now and I just wanted to point out that the middle board should have been flipped over. Reverse the grain. 🤪 But I do appreciate these videos! You're very inspiring.
Question about strength. At the 19:46 mark there are feet being added to the bottom panel of the drawer case. Doesn’t this mean all the weight is transferee to the connections between the bottom panel and the side panels? While I like the “floating” effect, it seems stronger to have feet under the (vertical) side panels.
How has that pocket hole joint stood up? It looks like all of the forces are...all over the place. Why didn't you use a more traditional wood joint for the legs?
Love this so much. Gonna make a slightly altered version of it myself. Can I please know, the Walnut you have used, is it regular walnut or dark walnut? Btw, best build I've seen thus far!! Great job.
It's cool, but heh...you know, I'm starting to think ''When are we finally make justice to those magazines in the 90s telling us the wonders of the future?''. I really wish to see high tech furniture soon when I click on something that says ''modern''.
The desk looks awesome but the fact its not symmetrical drives me up a wall.... Make it wider and Drawers on both sides and get a 49in ultra wide monitor would be perfect.. I really need to get back into wood working...
