Building a wall-mounted wine rack made from white oak.
I've always loved the look of old hand-hewn white oak beams and wanted to replicate that on the front of this wine rack. It's a very simple but beautiful build, essentially just some boards with some holes in them. White oak finished with boiled linseed oil.

I honestly don't know how I missed that entirely! I believe I used a 1-1/2" forstner bit at a slight angle, maybe 10°? I tested different but sizes and angles on a scrap 2x4 to see what looked best, aiming for the bottles to slant just a little upward when mounted

Is there a name for that style of relief carving on the edges? What type of chisel is best for that? Thanks.

I'm sure there is a name for it, but I have no idea! I used a small curved chisel and was going for the hand-hewn beam look at a smaller scale, so I was okay and even encouraged a bit of tear out
