Ron Meagher was not exactly the lead singer on "Sad Little Girl." Ron sang the high harmony/co-lead with Sal Valentino in parts of the song, but Sal sang the solo parts ... as he usually did. 🙂✌️👍🎵
Saw San Francisco's The Beau Brummels January 1, 1966 at Seattle Colliseum at seven-band concert headlined by The Beach Boys. They were fantastic! Jon Peterson was one of my favorite drummers of the era, with great feel, taste and chops. Here he is in this video, playing great, as always. They released a very good album in 1975 (year of this video), titled simply "The Beau Brummels". Sal Valentino's singing style was unique and rare in its quality...rumor at the time was that he could sing the phone book and make it sound great! Thanks for posting!!
@@jdnelson9538 Loved hearing the phone book posting...put a smile on my face. He was good then and I feel is still now. I love how he is able to put feeling and expression in his voice when he sings "Sad Little Girl" now that he is older. Like someone wrote his voice has improved over the years. I'm enjoying hearing these songs from back in 1975...thank you.
Best thing of theirs outside of (but before) TRIANGLE (1967 - just an amazing record!) and the misunderstood and hard-to-assess on it's own terms when you're not sure what those terms are BRADLEY's Barn (1968). Every time I plunge into that one I have to ask myself if I can ever devote the listening time to it that it wants and deserves to have? Always left feeling as if its REAL wonder is just waiting for a certain few persons to wander in with their few belongings, sit down and flush the key?
Thank you for your insightful comments. I just posted one of the two unrecorded songs from this set called " I Lost That Melody" by Ron Elliott with Sal on lead vocals.

Thank you for your interest. Audio is a thing. This was mixed from 24 tracks live and fed to my 1/2" reel to reel tape Sony video deck about 49 years ago! Digitized the footage a few years ago. I just posted one of the two unrecorded songs from this set called " I Lost That Melody" by Ron Elliott.
This was evidently a reunion--this group was from the mid-'60's. Sounded better then, too. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xzTlgjkIXxs.html
I think Sal is still monitoring this channel! I will take a look at your website. We drove out of Boston that morning to the studio in Wallingford CT and drove back that night. I have to defend the music scene in Boston, Cambridge at that time prior and beyond! (as evidenced by a few clips here below on my channel and some that were never recorded to tape.) I have been in Los Angeles since 1981! Check out The Music Museum of New England at www.mmone.org/ who have about 1000 web pages on New England music and musicians.
@@afewgoodideas Oh no, you misunderstood me. Boston has an excellent music scene. But, I don't live in Boston. I live on the Cape, which, as far as I can tell, has a weak music scene.
Thank you so much for sharing this!! The Brummels are one of my all time favorite groups, and I never thought any footage from this reunion period was ever made, let alone not lost, wiped, or otherwise unavailable. This is a treasure trove you have, and the quality is fantastic! Cheers to you!!
Thank you for your kind remarks on the group and me! A shout out to the engineers at Trod Nossel who gave me the mono audio feed into my 1/2" reel to reel Sony video deck that afternoon so long ago. I just posted one of the two unrecorded songs from this set called " I Lost That Melody" by Ron Elliott. A nice one!
Thank you for your views.I just posted another tune from this live session for a total of seven with the final three coming hopefully soon. I am not large enough to make income from my RU-vid channel yet !so please consider a tip at ko-fi.com/afewgoodideas
People have forgot the great importance and influence doowop and its reliance on group vocals had on early rock bands. It is what is missing today. Replaced by tired synthesizer sounds.
Thank you for your comments. I am working to post two - five more cuts from this session, two of which may have never been recorded. Please consider a tip at ko-fi.com/afewgoodideas

This song has always had such a cool vibe to it. I always thought the harmonica on the original recording gave it a special “I told you so” touch. I’ve always loved this song. I didn’t know they were an American group until recently. Wish I could have seen them live at some point in my life. Thank you for this video. ❤🙏

I wish you had been there as well! I am working to post two -five more cuts from this session of ten, two of which may have never been recorded. I try not to think of how many years ago!

Tremendous memories of being old enough to know this group when they first came out with their music. The clip used on the original Meet thr Flintstones with the Beau Brummelstones is also a classic. Good relaxing music- thank you. Also to the posting of seeing BB in Clevelamd in 1975, would this have been in an area known as the Flats at a place called Jimmy's perhaps? Just curious.
Thank you for your kind comments. I have 5 Beau Brummel videos from this session posted to date and hope to have another soon. Cleveland commenter would have to answer your question.
