You can use a double surgeons for sure. I just use a loop to loop because that way new customers only have to learn that knot and a fishermen's knot to set up the rod.
I have a 7'6 2wt that I primarily use for tiny creeks, but I always have my tiny ten in my pack for those hard to cast to holes that I otherwise wouldn't be able to hit with my 2wt. I have about 6 feet of level line on my tiny ten and around 2.5-3' of tippet. It will bow and arrow cast into some pretty tiny spots.
I've actually found about 6 ft of level line and a 3ft leader to be very managable on the tiny ten v1. You can bow and arrow cast it by grabbing the end of the leader where it connects to the level line and leaving your fly hang. The only downside to this is the line will 'pop' up some like a roll cast so if you are casting under branches you have to get very low. Love my tiny ten!
Just bought the Tiny Ten from your website this morning during a $69.99 sale with free shipping! Couldn't be more excited for when the weather here in Idaho gets warmer!
Got everything set up on my Tiny Ten2! Just did some practice casts out in the yard Very intuitive and fun to use. I also really like the portability and the case it comes in. Can't wait to land a fish on it.. that's next! Will report back
My TinyTen2 arrived safely here in the UK this afternoon and it looks like a quality product. I am looking forward to using it tomorrow evening. One comment on your excellent video and that is you should always remove the plastic from the cork handle to stop moisture wicking underneath and rotting the cork over time. Once again thanks for a quality product and I can’t wait to start using it.
Great video!! I just purchased one tiny ten rod and some line from you. I have a pond here in Spain and I was getting frustrated because I wasn't able to fish all holes with my long tenkara rod. Eager to test it out once it arrives!!!!
I've had all the women in my family wear the pack and they say it's comfortable. The straps can be adjusted so that the bag still hugs the body but exerts little pressure on the chest.
I will definitely be purchasing a rod! This is exactly the kind of thing I’ve been searching for. Payday needs to come faster lol. Looks like a great product bro!
Thanks for the quick and clear tutorial. Have been using the bow & arrow with my Tiny Ten and Tiny Ten 2. They are great rods for many of the small, overgrown creeks here in the Southern Appalachians.
Ok, you answered my question why I observe the fly bouncing back at times. Caught over 20 trout on the creek nearby since purchasing the Tiny Tenkara a month ago
Yes, Thank you. I’ve been wanting to fish creeks for 20 years, and just started because of your inspiration. Great tutorial and helping me understand creeks more. Just because your younger then me doesn’t mean you don’t have any knowledge to teach a 42 year old man something new. Video saved. 🤗👊
I am 58 and purchased a Tiny Tenkara two weeks ago so I can "bushwhack" a creek about 25 minutes from my house. Having a blast...catching cutthroats almost every time out in tight places/small pools. Most are 7" to 9" in length, some are 3" to 4". See some 12" or so, but they are not taking what I a offering. I have taken a few good spills walking through the bushes and rocky creek but I am having fun exploring the smaller/tighter places along this creek.
