You are absolutely correct! This whole DJ thing has been a double edged sword. The good thing about the technology is that you dont have to carry around all those crates, turntables, amps and speakers but the bad thing is now all you need is a DJ controller, laptop, external hard drive with files of music and now………….. your a DJ.
very good software tbh i give it 8/10. still has work to be done esp making it easier to access. one site shd have everything. ability to signup signing and also easier access to unsubscribe aswell.
There are very few commercial/guest auditoriums/venues that can effectively make use of anything above 256kbps; ror this type of environment it is going to be perfectly fine. To be honest the trend for modern EDM mastering has a tendency to smash the hell our of mixes even if meticulosuly done. The kind of noise potentials offered by uncompressed, higher bit resolution (24/32) is redundant for a large percentage of contemporary PA configurations. If you have compressed 256kps made from high fidelity original source material, don't sweat it. If you are producing material, 24bit 48KHz PCM/WAV is absolutely sufficient for pop/rock/edm. If you are producing and recording large orchestral suites, then higher sample rates and bit resolutions are a good thing for facilitating the potential of capturing a greater dynamic range. In a side context, there are approximately 100,000+ records/works added to streaming platforms every day, paying extra for FLAC or uncompressed streaming? I'd rather (and do) buy physical media if I rate it that much.
Question, can i do the spotify to serato thing only? thats literally all i need..but 30 quid is too expensive per month just for that. I love the concept of this but i think you guys should break it all down into individual services you can pay for... id buy just that one for example, and if i liked others it would persuade me to expand as i used it more.
Hmm ok yeah so the pasted spotify link thing is really useful.. i have a ton of music already and the majority of what playlists in spotify included, i have already.. so if theres a way i can take the playlists and link it to my own music in serato, that would be AWESOME... having a look at your site, ive not seen the prices yet.... hopefully not too bad.. lol

Is this for real?! Everybody has the right to their opinion… my approach as a dj is play according to my crowd. So I don’t see how it’s helpful to delete genres because you don’t think a particular group might not like. I’ll pass on this! Respectfully!
Pioneer's releasing mediocre and overpriced products in recent years starting with Rekordbox which is a shame, Denon DJ is doing it RIGHT. Can't wait to upgrade my Prime 4 for the new Plus model.
Both, but your internal drive is also your system drive which means that IF you ever run out of space, your computer will basically stop running because it can't create the files it needs to run. If you use an external drive -- you essentially prevent this from ever being a possibility. Personally, I use cloud drives (OneDrive) because drives WILL fail, however companies who host cloud services have advanced services and personnel who's only job is to maintain data.
I’m finding myself doing the same thing lately, I’ll do a wedding or a gig where I’m jumping around playing different music for the room be a there’s a mixture of different age groups and different people. It keeps me on my toes but I’m digging it. I bring more music to cover the night or day.
OMG! I didn't know about your recent health issue. I'm so glad you're OK! Thank you for this video. I've always said, my DJ music skills are pretty good - my MCing skill, are "Ok" at best.... or as my kids would say, "meh!"

As a dj since 1998 I'd make sure I knew what to do. Don't hand anything off to anyone. I don't plan anything and I never use cue points....ever. I just set the track to where I need it just like I did with vinyl. In fact I set everything to be as vinyl as possible (that's my personal preference) and then I read the crowd to choose the next track based on crowd response. Mix and match the beats by ear. That's the number one thing when djing at least in electronic music. Many djs don't know how to programs mixes, ride out long mixes, read the room/crowd, mix on the fly, and some rely on the sync button. Hey if you want to use cue points, the sync button and so forth fine, just don't be surprised when something goes sideways because it will.
Capt. Wendell of frequency X and Legends of vinyl is sending out and sos . just stepped up to an xz4 and a new Mac. guess what? all my folders from the last 12 years are irrelevant. 911 or are you BS?
