It’s funny how in so many ways we’ve invented all sorts of things to make life easier, and yet we end up screwing ourselves over in some way. Hopefully we can course correct as a species and find a healthy balance between our technology and our biology. Fun Fact: A large portion of pro runners come from a single community in Africa. Their secret? They run barefoot.
Love your videos! I wonder if it’s worth getting curious about the source of stress and grinding vs. treating symptoms? Ps. I love facial massage and buffalo massage and I’m a massage therapist. I’ve tried doing the work on myself, and it’s so different than just relaxing back and receiving. Hope you get some more work and get to rest your jaw! Cranial sacral therapy is also great for jaw stuff 🤙🏻
You can definitely get Botox for it. It doesn't stop you from being able to eat/ talk, etc. They don't paralyse the muscles, but they make them weaker. It has a culminating effect that as you aren't grinding, the muscle itself loses size/ strength to be able to grind so hard. In saying that, I'd be interested in you getting a series done at Face Gym... it would be good to see if the service works long term and other results you find from it.
After the face workout, and including the next day, it seemed you opened your mouth less wide when you talked. Did you notice this yourself? I'd suggest limbering your jaw to restore full range of comfortable motion. I have one of the original Hypervolt massage guns, and while it works well everywhere, an especially welcome benefit was using the foam ball attachment all over my jaw and the associated muscles. While I no longer grind my teeth at night, I do occasionally clench my jaw when I've had too much caffeine, or I'm under lots of physical or emotional stress. Using the gun after really helps!
I’m a tooth grinder in my sleep. Doctors told me I have over developed jaw muscles because of it. A few years ago I had to have my jaw joint washed out because there was debris in there and my jaw would lock shut. I was knocked out and they injected saline and sucked it back out with the debris.
I'd say stick to the Face Gym, find out exactly what is being done and why, before trying it yourself and potentially hurting something. As for water, I'm on a farm in Nebraska, drinking well water. AFTER running through a water softener the water is above the reccomend hardness for drinking, AND above the reccomend level of nitrogen (fertilizer runoff).
I have TMJ and also clench my jaw at night. My chiropractor taught me to do the inside the mouth release on myself and it is wonderful. I like to do it when I'm soaking in the tub.
I have sensory disorders and have worn thong sandals or barefoot over 95% of my life. My toes are spread a lot. I can use my toes to pick small items up, zip up zippers, almost as much as my fingers can do.
I couldn't find spacers that would actually stay on when walking/running. I had to get Socks that are spacers as well. Anyone else have the same problem?
So true. Treat only after you have a problem. Or even create a virus in a lab so you can sell a vaccine to all the world. Who trusts the medical establishment or the government after COVID??
Very nice video, however the top score guy cheated and used 2 hands . Whenever performing this test the individual shouldn't push off or touch any body part - like thighs and even holding ones wrist would all give you invalid higher scores. Best Check out GM150 videos to see how the professionals do. World record is over 378lbs+
I’m 100% barefoot at home. When I have to cram my wide feet in my sneakers or whatever shoes my toes cramp. It’s awful. And standing in regular shoes hurt my feet and make me tired. I’m going to try these shoes.
ya having been 5 foot 1 and 116 lb average for most of my teenage years and then jumping to 138lb after 21 years of age due to stress of life and chronic pain does not feel good. I want to overcome chronic pain. I'm 24 now and will be graduating from nursing school soon. I love these videos! Thank you for making this channel.
