All dawless 😀 the Vongon Polyphrase on my top left is taking care of most of it. Its acting as a sort of looper but you can mess with fragments in a really cool way
You’re so good at giving spoilers without spoiling the movie 😀 All songs in this E.P. are amazing. Your vocals towards the end are wonderful. And the main melody is so futuristic. If you’d be able to make a hundred hours long album, I would listen all of that album. It’s also great to hear the story behind these songs, so thank you for this series. God bless you! 😅❤❤❤
Well done. I realize these videos are very hard work to produce, but in time they should pay off. Regular-ish release cadence seems to be key. I am very jealous of your gear!
@@hazelmillsmusic NOMB, but it's not the worst idea just to make a ton of short videos with you composing extemporaneously with some of your gear, just flood the zone with content. It worked for Schubert, he did 600 lieder. Of course, he didn't make videos of them.......
Instant fan subscribing to hear more! 🌞 I hear a very skillful musician with both an enchanting and striking voice and a great ear for harmony. It's not fair to compare, but this piece reminds me a bit of early 90s Tori Amos, which is a massive compliment in my book. Strong, but vulnerable and with mastery of composition. Very well done! 🔥👋👽🛸
I love these eerie, oneiric textural explorations. Often, they bring out elements that end up inspiring full-fledged songs. The MicroFreak is a wonderful tool for that kind of exercices, first because of its diverse sound engines, but also owing to the four parametric tracks of its sequencer. Sequencing modulation and performance parameters over a musical loop is an extraordinary tool for free-form exploration, I find. I do not know if you are using these specifically here (I do not know what the Polyphase or Ultrasheer do, to be honest), but I, for one, grossly under-use this aspect of the Freak. I really must dig deeper into it. On a side-note, I just discovered your channel after listening to the great technical interview you gave Nick Batt a while ago while touring with Goldfrapp. As I gradually consider playing my own modular-based music live in a near future, seeing the kind of setup and "shortcuts" you were using to recreate complex studio-based synth associations on stage was really enlightening. Thank you for sharing all this experience !
Another brilliant video, the textures you played and talked about at the beginning sound fantastic, a brilliant idea to sample the old dial up tones, and pitch them down added a distinct and almost android robotic speech. The piano sound itself is such a wonderfull and beautiful piece of music on its own. The whole track is an amazing masterpiece in my opinion. My favourite track from the whole ep (and it’s very hard to choose) but it has to be Hold the Water. Would really love to see a video on how it was created. Thank you so much for sharing!
I really like the approach of this track exploration. It makes me appreciate the details in your songs even more. Also it so nice to see how collaboration leads to a great arrangement. But the song itself is a strong foundation. It must have been rewarding to let it grow into its final state.
Only just found this while looking for something else. What a fantastic version of a great song. To play it live with just the 2 of you and a similar mix of electronic and acoustic instruments was quite something. Also loved the split screen in black and white as you were clearly remote from each other, which makes it even more remarkable as a performance.
I love when you trying to make us notice a specific element in the song ( the finger movement 👉🏻) 😅 I love this song, and all 3 others. But this and embrace a little more special. I didn’t noticed Will Gregory’s synths before. Ghost voice at the end amazing. I am really looking forward to see your new album or remixes or acoustic versions or whatever. 😅❤❤❤
