NEW GENERATION ERA IS THE BEST WITHOUT A DOUBT. WHATEVER ERA YOU'RE FROM, YOU SHOULD BE THANKFUL FOR THIS TIME. IT PAVED THE WAY FOR A LOT OF THE STUFF YOU HAVE TODAY. IT'S WHEN WRESTLEMANIA, SUMMER SLAM, THE SURVIVOR SERIES ETC STARED. SOME OF THE GREATEST WRESTLERS CAME FROM THIS ERA. HOGAN, MACHO MAN RANDY SAVAGE, ULTIMATE WARRIOR, ANDRE THE GIANT, TAG TEAMS LIKE THE ROAD WARRIORS (PERHAPS THE GREATEST TAG TEAM EVER) NEW GENERATION ERA IS WHAT MADE WRESTLING FAMOUS AND WHAT IT IS TODAY. EVEN MOVES, LIKE THE DOOMSDAY DEVICE WHICH WAS THE ROAD WARRIORS FINISHING MOVE AND CERTAIN MATCHES BACK THEN ARE BANNED TODAY CAUSE OF IT'S SEVERITY. IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN MATCHES FROM THIS TIME, WATCH EM, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.
Now walk with me: what if they made Giulia a Paul Heyman Gal? She does the wrestling, Paul does the talking. I think it would be perfect for Giulia, for post Bloodline Heyman and for the women's division
One of the most physical rivalries. Their chemistry and their matches and their storytelling was just incredible. Greatest rivalry of the Ruthless Agression era in my opinion 🐐🐐🔥🔥❤️❤️
All the copyright cuts make the video somewhat confusing. Several thought processes in the video are interrupted, causing issues. I'd give this video 5 stars if it were more fluid. Good job overall though!
From 2001 to 2006, when Heyman was in WWE during his first spell you knew when Heyman had a say because you would see a lot of RVD, Lesnar, Angle, Big Show, Bob/Hardcore Holly or CM Punk. Those were his go to guys that he liked. So it was no coincidence that when WWECW started he wanted RVD, Angle, Big Show, Bob/Hardcore Holly and CM Punk all on the show. Obviously Hardcore Holly was the least known guy of them and was a mid carder but Heyman for some reason really liked Bob Holly. So I would say Bob Holly is the most forgettable Heyman guy of them all. There has only ever been 1 Heyman girl however in Maria Kanellis, the two met when Heyman was working down in OVW in 2005, and Heyman really liked her, not as a wrestler but Maria said that when she was down in OVW, she got on really well with Heyman and Heyman always sang his praises on her. Jim Cornett on the other hand, Maria hated Jim Cornett, when she was down in OVW.
So... where's the titan Tron falling? Such stupid clickbait. The only reason i watched this video is to see that. You know if you want to keep followers, at least deliver on your promises.
Hey guys, the cuts in the video are not editing mistakes; there were a few copyright claims, so we had to remove them. Sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks for understanding!
Essentiallu Brock Lesnar only became a Paul Heyman guy because of Tazz. Tazz said this and Paul Heyman confirmed it. Back when Brock Lesnar was brought up for development. WWE producers had him trying out different ideas. All terrible ones. Tazz saw this and went up to Lesnar and said to him why doesn't he say how stupid the ideas why and Lesnar said something. I cant remember. But basically he was just going to do what they told him to do. Tazz went to Heyman and told him about Lesnar and telling him what the producers were doing. Tazz convinced Heyman to have a lock at Lesnar so he did. He became Lesnars manager that day and the rest is history.
You make a great point! Tazz really played a crucial role in shaping Brock's career, and it's fascinating to see how that pivotal moment led to such an iconic partnership with Heyman.
Kurt Angle Brock Lesnar CM Punk Roman Reigns. All of them became juggernauts when they had Paul Heyman by their side. Honestly he's one of the greatest managers and wrestling minds of all time 🐐🐐🐐🐐. That is why he's a Hall of famer 🔥🔥🔥🔥
What about the original midnight express with Dennis Condrey when they came out and attacked Bobby Eaton and Stan Lane with Jim Cornette remember that but I believe that was in the late 80s under the NWA banner
Rick Rude Rick Rude was perfect but I feel as though he should have been the one to end Ricky Steamboats WCW World Title reign with Rude defeating Steamboat at Bash At The Beach 1992. Stunning Steve Austin Stunning Steve Austin should have been a member of the Four Horsemen would have been a better move for his career,Austin fit where Pillman felt like he didn't. Brock Lesnar Brock Lesnar makes his debut on RAW following WrestleMania 18 quickly starting to rise to the top with Lesnar even winning the 2002 King Of The Ring defeating Stone Cold in the finals,Lesnar going on to defeat The Immortal Hulk Hogan at Vengeance, and finally The Rock for the WWF Undisputed Title at Summerslam 2002. Big Show The Giant however should have been managed by Paul E Dangerously during his original run even being a main member of The Dangerous Alliance helping Rude retain his World Title. Never should have joined forces with Paul Heyman and instead should have been a challenger to Brock Lesnar for the 2003 Royal Rumble and No Way Out PPVs. Kurt Angle Should have been billed as a babyface foil for Brock Lesnar and should have went on to defeat Lesnar at WrestleMania 19 after winning the 2003 Royal Rumble Match. CM Punk CM Punk aligns himself with Paul Heyman turning heel before his match with John Cena at Summerslam 2012 with Punk defeating Cena once again to retain his WWE Title. Roman Reigns Roman making his return at the 2020 Summerslam with Reigns attacking both The Fiend and Braun Strowman to close out Summerslam after The Fiend defeated his former follower Strowman.
every time i come across a video talking about that i swear i get chills just thinking what COULDVE happened. i honestly feel like if that happens maybe wrestling is over "atleast wwf/e". no ruthless aggression, no cena, no orton, no hhh running the company, no hof, ect the list goes on.. mania 17 was the first ppv i saw as a kid to that's why it always makes this weirder for me lol
Thanks for the video but there are some very jarring cuts. 8:01 suddenly cuts to "ocky 3" (sic). 8:39 "would become the flagship of WWF's pay per the first WrestleMania". 8:50 "Mahammad Ali and Cyndi Lauper success" That was as far as I got before it became too much to continue watching.
Need to work ok editing of your audio. For example, when you talk about John Cena winning his first championship, you don’t even finish the sentence it just jumps directly to brock Lesnar.
I grew up watching during the new generation into the attitude era. Even though the new gen had ridiculous cartoony gimmicks, like I remember the hockey player turned wrestler the goon who wrestled in hockey gear and his wrestling boots looked like hockey skates lmao, it was still a big part of my childhood just as much as the attitude era. I stopped watching towards the end of 99/00. Now 24 years later I got bit by the wrestling bug again and have been tuning in every week. It was actually the launch of AEW that got me back into prowrestling. Their hatred and constant bashing of WWE did the opposite and turned me back onto WWE lol.
The thing is, golden era and later generation era seemed like comic book characters come to life, attitude era and beyond seemed like an expensive Jerry Springer Show
I was a huge fan in the 90’s until maybe mid Ruthless Aggression. I tried getting back into it multiple times over the years. And just think back, wishing I respected the Cena vs Orton days. I try watching now and hear the name Gunter, and just turn it off 😂
It depends which era u started to watch, Golden era was phenomenal, and will never be repeated. It seemed like comic book characters come to life. Attitude era and beyond seemed like Jerry Springer Show
I started watching wrestling as a kid during the tail end of the Golden Era and watched up until about 2001 when I was 17. Nothing will ever touch the Attitude Era. It was a special time that can never be recreated. It also gave rise to the biggest star of all-time...Stone Cold Steve Austin. 3:16 forever
>Renaissance Era aka Paul Levesque Era <Low viewership numbers <Low merchandise sales <Shows don't sell out unless you're in a woke, smark area like Chicago, Philadelphia, and Portland <Less live events and domestic house shows <Keeps going to Canada and Europe because American shows do poorly <Champions are not draws with the exception of La Knight <Cody's already hated, and no longer a top merchandise seller <Women's wrestling is still a joke <Less sponsors because no brand wants to lose money on a dying niche <Lost a big tv deal because Noseman (Triple H) is an incompetent booker >One indie-trash tier tag match after another >Long, boring matches with terrible workrates and poorly-executed flips and kicks >No memorable feuds and stories Wrestling boom, lol. Shut up, bruh.
Cena and Batista were the beginning of the Entertainment Era (2005-2011). The Ruthless Aggression Era was that small, impactful, Era in between the Attitude and Entertainment (2002-2005). Usually defined by the Smackdown brand, not the RAW brand. I believe it is very unique in that aspect. Think about the Brock Lesnar, Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, and Rey Mysterio roster with veterans like Hogan and Rock doing occasional storylines and the Undertaker still in the main event scene. We also seen the rise of John Cena during the Ruthless Aggression Era, but I would say Wrestlemania 21 was actually the definitive end of the true Ruthless Aggression Era. That's when the main event scene was almost unrecognizable to a few years prior, the product was presented differently, the tone and visuals has become much more light-hearted, even the brand logos and themes became less gritty, and even the WWE Title changed designs. In my opinion the look of the WWE Title is usually a strong indication of a new Era. While not always the case, often times they will change the WWE Championship as a symbolic change in the product and the shift on focus went back to RAW after Brock Lesnar left and Cena was moved to the RAW brand to become Superman. I think some younger fans see the Ruthless Aggression Era as being the beginning of John Cena. Some fans just see it as being the same Era, but us older fans don't really see them as being the same. How could you though? The WWE of 2002- early 2005 has almost nothing in common with the WWE of mid 2005 - 2011. Just look at the theme change of RAW, the "Across the Nation" RAW is a completely different product than the "Wanna Be Loved" RAW. I know younger fans who barely (or can't) remember this shift will blend it together as one era because they just see it as birth place of the future stars, but aside from Brock Lesnar those other guys weren't really focal points of the true Ruthless Aggression Era. They were there, but they weren't winning World Titles or main eventing Wrestlemania or even being presented on that level at the time. I know WWE likes to market the Ruthless Aggression Era as one long John Cena focused story, but the real ones who seen it know better. The true Ruthless Aggression Era was only three years and it was about the rise of Brock Lesnar, not John Cena.
Agreed, I’d say 2005-2008 was the Cena/Batista Era, those three years was when Cena and Batista were the focal point of the company. I wouldn’t count post WM 21 as Ruthless Agression because like you said the main event scene has completely changed with two new World Champs. To me the ruthless aggression era was all about Brock Lesnar and also Triple H’s reign of terror. Ultimately the ruthless aggression era was built around Brock Lesnar being the poster boy and the face of the company. WWE Here comes the pain video game was all about Brock Lesnar and 2003 was peak Ruthless aggression because post WM 20 was when the ruthless aggression fizzled out.
