I don't know you, and I'm not subscribed but your video showed up as a suggestion and at the time it had no views. As a fellow drummer I had to support, I've been playing for around 30 years, and I will say anything I can do really fast, took me a lot of hours playing it painfully slow, and many other successful drummers will say the same. "Practice makes permanent", if you keep doing something, your muscles will store that data, so it can be repeated. Keep at it, no matter how boring or uncomfortable it may be...cheers bro.

Nice job. I loved how you were keeping the groove. Just a few tips that can help you advance. First, your grip needs some work, but it won't take much to wrap all of your fingers around the sticks. Picture it like if you are knocking on a door, how you have your fingers into your hand and your thumb lay atop them. Put that on a drumstick, put your thumb slightly above where the rest of your fingers are, and find your balance point. Don't choke the stick, but don't feather it. Hold it gently, but tight. Good job on moving your wrists instead of your arms, too. Another tip, try to play with a metronome. If you don't know, a metronome is a click that keeps you in time. If you can, either grab some headphones or a speaker and get used to playing grooves and fills to a metronome, whether on your phone or an actual one. This will enhance playing in time even when not playing with it. I really enjoy how you are tracking your progress, it is a tool that a lot of drummers don't use, but tracking your progress can help see how you have improved. I don't see many drummers do this, which is amazing that you are doing it. You are one in eight billion, keep up the amazing work.

Thanks for the kind words. I should be playing to a metronome, but I'm notoriously lazy about it. The fact that it is one of the first things mentioned tells me I should just suck it up and embrace the click even if I go insane. Other than that, my only question about holding the sticks is if the grip changes when I'm doing double stroke rolls and stuff like that.

Never stop. Drum for yourself not others.
