I was finally called out for not using a metronome. So now it's time to start using it. I kept it at 70 BPM to start off with, and it felt slow and boring. I'll definitely be using the metronome during practice sessions, and I'll gradually increase the bpm over time (practicing basic patterns and fills). Despite this, I'll still probably play without it from time to time because I have a lot of fun playing without it. I think in the future, I'll try to play along to some drum beat bpm videos, so I'm not always using the click. Something I noticed was that it was a little hard to sync up to the bpm from time to time, but it forced me to really focus to a certain extent.

I don't know you, and I'm not subscribed but your video showed up as a suggestion and at the time it had no views. As a fellow drummer I had to support, I've been playing for around 30 years, and I will say anything I can do really fast, took me a lot of hours playing it painfully slow, and many other successful drummers will say the same. "Practice makes permanent", if you keep doing something, your muscles will store that data, so it can be repeated. Keep at it, no matter how boring or uncomfortable it may be...cheers bro.
