Thanks for all the information on this video. Are you wearing waders with a build-in boot or separate boot. Been a big river bass boat & jon boater for skinny rivers for 50 years plus. Getting ready to order an inflatable for RV travel. Maybe you’ve done this, but I would like to see a video on what you have learned in clothing and shoes, wadders for different seasons, maybe a new video. Thanks. Been 45+ years since I wadded the creeks on the Ohio river.
I am considering purchasing the sea eagle fish skiff 16. How is it holding up? Is it durable and would you recommend this or should I go with different brand?
One thing I would like to hear about is how well the weedless prop works in actual weeds. Like at the weedy end of a lake, this is a major issue and real life testing with aquatic weeds would be helpful.
Nice to see u take the time and explain about gut hooked fish . Thanks. Been binge watching ur channel fir a week now . Learned alot . I pour jig heads as well. . Just made a personal jackhammer chatterbait.. I would like to send u a couple if u like.. I can't sell them because zman patent but I can use them personally and gift u a couple
@@TheLittleStuff Very true but going up stream it’s a lot easier to control speed and keep straight with the motor.Going down you end up going to fast with the motor.
Jeff I'm planning on getting a Dry Suit but will it keep me warm or do I need to put another layer under my Dry Suit.....and when do you start wearing it because I live in south carolina and it warm until November ...ish
When the water is below 60 degrees, it’s cool enough to trigger the “involuntary gasp” reflex. I wear fleece top and bottom and alpaca socks under my drysuit. NRS makes some dry suits that are Gore Tex pro, which insulates well. I use the Nomad.
Hey Jeff, really digging your content. If you're having issues with your phone's touch-screen while having wet/slimy fingers maybe try using one of those stylus pens that work on touch screens. Pretty sure all phones have a double-tap to zoom setting so you don't even need two fingers to zoom.
@@TheLittleStuff No problem! I don't know what phone you use but I think most smartphones today also let you use your volume buttons as dedicated shutter buttons as well. And in the case of my phone (Samsung Galaxy S23) if I double-press the power button it'll open my camera app so really there's a chance you may not even need to use your touch-screen at least for taking photos.
Jeff another thing I wanted to mention is I have been having a lot of success fishing my jig across current, so I move away from the bank a good distance and cast to the bank, then scoot the jig across current, it seems to cover more space and you find a couple of fish away from the bank that are on the bottom, maybe behind a rock that you can’t see. Just a thought.
I had way more issues to correct than how I move the jig in relation to current. My recent trip to Virginia fixed a lot of what I got wrong here. The increased flow (dam release) on day 2 exposed a lot of the flaws in my Palmetto BugZ rigging. It’s fixed now, but it cost me two really solid fish in this tournament. You can see “the fix” on my Instagram page JeffLittleKayakFishing
Ya know Jeff my Boonedox landing gear ripped right out of the track when I was pulling it up the riverbank, I had to put a bolt right through the whole track. Another thing that happened is the switch pads cracked on my motor mount so I shimmed it with rubber pads and that fixed that problem, so if you find those pads cracking or vibrating out try rubber pads. Great video Jeff and great work! Congratulations on your 3rd place finish on the team level and thanks for sharing ! Ps the landing gear is great but the long legs really put a lot of leverage and stress on the frame work of the inflatable.
Steve, be careful to not get Loc Tite on the YakAttack SwitchPads. That rectangular black plastic part is susceptible to chemical degradation from Loc Tite. Also, I tried to remove the Loc Tited hardware to repair this when I got home. The square nut inside the SwitchPad base just spun inside because the Loc Tite did its job. I clamped the needle nose vice grips on the outside of where the internal square nut is, and I still couldn’t get it loose. The repair job became more complicated at that point. Bottom line: the hardware didn’t loosen up. The plastic part on top snapped in half, and I had no way to remove it. Tray and I discussed it. We will trial silicone sealant instead of Loc Tite on the next one we assemble. This is learning.
The Voice Control tip is great. I never knew about that. And perfect timing too as I have CPR tournament coming up and wet hands and phone always end up being an issue. Thank you!
Also good stuff. Always lots nuggets of knowledge in em I love to see it a video on what your kayak looked like after tournament and cup of baits probably lol Thanks mike
Jeff and Josh Please, tell me what is the purpose of the putting the wide gap upside down Are you fishing it with the hook point up and allowing the fluke’s top flat side to make the bait go side to side and as it slowly falls it wanders more? I’ve been going over it for a while and I’m unable to settle it in my mind 😦😁
Inflatables are 100% PRIMARY stability. On steep waves, you need secondary stability. I’m designing a more narrow inflatable that should have some secondary stability for paddling aggressive whitewater. It will be equipped with thigh straps.
@@TheLittleStuff That's cool to hear although I don't do whitewater with the metal titanium rods that extend from my tailbone to my neck so secondary stability won't apply for me as I only do lake and calm river fishing these days but it'd still be interesting to see on a YT video.
one of my favourite videos of all time. really helps me choosing my next lake tournament rig. would be nice to have an updated Excel sheet with RVR, Shoalie, LT2, Crew. Great work!
@@TheLittleStuff thank you! I wish a company would design a 14’, 34”, 95lbs kayak specifically made for speed and range. any rumours of one in the making? ;)
I just couldn’t get any bigs. Five days of fishing and no 18 plus inch fish. Some of that is on me for not fishing big, or seeing more of the river. Part of it is that the Susquehanna spoils me. But that river further upstream did me right in short order!
@@TheLittleStuff I love rivers but the Wisconsin River humbled me this year. next time when you are around WI /Illinois hit me up I show you few rivers I like . especially in fall . The double fluke is a killer
That prototype fluke bait kinda reminds me of the old line thru Mr Whiggly from river to sea sold designed by Larry dahlburg. Don’t think they sell it anymore was hoping they’d bring it out in a smaller bass version kinda like they did the whopper plopper.
You know Jeff if I had one bait to choose, it would be a jig , it works no matter what, If I am getting no takes on any bait and I switch to a jig, it always seems to produce. Great stuff Jeff thanks for sharing 👍
Bigs eat jigs. Unfortunately, I didn’t break 18 inches on this fishery until after the event, about a 3 hour drive north of where “in bounds” was. If you ever make it to the Wisconsin River, fish the upper reaches.
What a fantastic and very smart young guy!! I wonder if he could scale the width down 20-30 percent and the weight down to less than 50 lbs. Maybe create a new smaller model? Thanks! High Noon
I'm working hard to get to that 50lb mark, and pretty sure I can get there with the 2025 model. But since I am custom making them, I can work with people to make them to spec also. 30% narrower is for sure doable :)
