After 3 years of designing/prototyping a new design, I have a batch built that will be sold commercially,. I shipped out 2 kits to customers last year in the racing industry to put them through their paces. I was waiting for their feedback before I started pushing them though....
451. I prefer to just build the kits. I do installs, but I am picky about the jobs I take in and there is a waiting list so it will take a lot longer for me to do it as well as cost more money than having a local mechanic shop do the work...
19k is a fairly good price for a high quality kit. This isn’t a thrown together backyard project & yes there is a difference. Can you make it for cheaper? Do you have a 3D scanning tool? Designing software? CNC Machines (Cutter,Mill, lathe, drill, etc..), Welder, Pipe Bender & the list goes on.. this is just to scratch the surface Now what about the amount of time it will take you to even design a project. The trials & errors, etc.. There are other shops that do busa conversations.. their prices start around $20k as well.. don’t believe me then call around,, cross cars from global karts & Sierra Cars sell for $45k-90k+ if he wanted he could design his own 1 & 2 seater street car since sierra cars has gone fully electric & he could really make a decent penny.
It just makes me smile....that sound. I'd rather have something with a bit of impact zone though after seeing the results of a head on in a smart . Something bland like a hyundai i30 ...hyundaibusa!

HAPPY IT MADE IT BACK TO THE TRAILER AND POPED BACK ON WITH MY CO2 TANK TAKE A RIDE OFF road fast as smooth as a big Cadalac in safe control over 2-3foot whoops at 70mph where you would not even spill your drink! its long travel on positionsensative shocks with 4 wheel drive geared for 35" tires and locked front and rear . When I need 4x4 ! Not so often but nice when I do or want it. There are some new improvements that help it.
I stopped building sandrails to focus on my other companies, but I do still have a few fully welded frame kits with suspension and aluminum work in stock if you're interested...
Some of those plates took an hour and a half just to plasma cut and I didn't even show all the plates that were cut in order to keep the video shorter. I'm a 1 man shop and really couldn't fathom doing work like this by hand. It's nice passing tedious work like this off to equipment when possible.....
