I have Arabians. None of them are really hot, but they do have more energy than the average colder-blooded horse. The 4 that I have been riding most recently vary in temperament and sensitivity, which makes life more interesting for me as a rider.
Love this. I have an ex racer and loved the tip on leg yield. Especially interesting about most horses leaning on the right rein. Especially ex racers since over here they race left! Thanks so much :)
Thanks for the great video as usual! When pushing the horse off the inside leg, is it a continuous action or is it intermittent? And do you use your lower leg or more your upper-leg (thigh)?
Je suis continuellement impressionné par le niveau de nuance de cette discussion. Il est clair que tout le monde ici a profondément réfléchi au sujet abordé.✨
Totally appreciate your focus on training scale and basics always something to be reminded of, see differently and learn or re-learn how to make it happen!
Hi Amelia, I get confused with being heavy in the seat, I often hear more weight in your heels and less weight on the horses back, 20% seat, 80% heels? I’m trying hard to define this feel? Thank you
Very useful. That is my problem. I should try and try. My mare is very strong and it is impossible to fight with her but when I get the right balance and lighten hands, as you said it is a beautiful feeling.
I have a sorrel, 14 hand, quarter horse gelding and have had him for almost two months. We have been working together and he is doing so good, so excited to do this ❤❤
Hi, Jill from Pa. Leasing an Oldenburg x thoroughbred mare, 16h. Already trained in dressage and competes with her owner. This horse knows more than me!!
I always benefit from Amelia's helpful tips before I ride or take a lesson. Amelia gives me more confidence that what appears to be IMPOSSIBLE is really POSSIBLE, ONE STEP AT A TIME! THANK YOU AMELIA! PS, I used to quote Amelia to my trainer, Riley when she was here in NJ. "Well Amelia says..." Riley says she speaks to Amelia. Small world!
My problem is they're light in hands but I'm told they are evading the bit and NOT using hind end either so my struggle is just opposite of the strong puller. I know these same tips work for this same problem but I'm struggling with learning the right feel now that I rode so long thinking the lightness was good 🫤
Great tips as ever Amelia -I especially like your reminder to first check rider position „heavier seat, lighter hands“. It feels magical when I get this right with my horse. 😊
My horse likes to wash out through his left shoulder cantering right - I feel like when I push from the inside leg it can make it worse. In that case - do I need more outside leg?
Thank you so much im riding ny first second level in august and my horse is a dressage pro i just need to teach my self how to turn on the haunches and then i think we will practice it and be okay so thank you sooo much❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
