At 50k or 60,000 miles. A fluid change like this is pretty smart. But when you reach 100 to 120,000 miles, I highly recommend you change the filter inside the pan.
I looked at 460L's and decided to go with a 2004 Lincoln Town Car instead. It's hard to beat the ride of a Lincoln. The 4.6 V-8 is bulletproof and parts for this car are cheap. Easy to work on too. I am completely satisfied. Best driving car ever.
I work on a lot of towncars. They are an excellent choice for all the reasons you mentioned. I’d be happy to own one of those as well. On paper they are absolutely in the same category. In my opinion they are very, very different cars and hard to compare. The Lincoln is very old school underneath, even for its day, and the Lexus was cutting edge back when it was new. In some ways it still is.
How cool of YOU to share your ideas with others! Thank you! I've done 3 Iron Butt certified rides and would like to add this to my ride list next year!
I bought a 2022 Ford BRONCO SPORT and the manual for the 1.5L say “Oil capacity: 5.3 qt(5.05L) what you said!! But i wonder why the same manual bring an extra paper that say : “Engine oil capacity and specification - 1.5L Ecoboost, vehicle built from 10/2021 Capacities: 6.6 qt (6.25L) including the oil filter “
@@pr4lviper, I have no idea. The one in my video took 5.3. I have found owners manuals to be wrong on a lot of occasions, but I’m not the manufacturer so I am not making any claims on what yours will take, only stating what the one in this video took.
You will not need to do anything special if you do unplug it. I always cycle the ebrake a couple times after finishing the job, but no special procedure needed.
I have a 2017 F150 owner's manual calls for LV not ULV, if you look up 2018 it has both listed. Is there something different with the 2017 10 speed? So would ULV be fine or should I stick with manual.
Im assuming that after you filled the tranny and let the transmission come up to the 100° operating temperature that when you removed the drain plug and allowed the excess to flow out that was done while the engine was running correct? That may explain why some other people were saying they drained 4 L but we’re only able to put two back in if the engine is not running while you are draining the excess out then you will not have the proper fluid level.
@@e4300 and then you will be at the same level you started. Do you know if it was at the correct level when you started? Did you for sure measure everything correctly? It’s risky, do you want to risk your transmission?
I just crawled under my 2007 150 XL 4.2 [bought new] and the rust looks extensive but not terrible. I live in Southern Minnesota [salt] and love this truck and it makes me sad the foundation of this truck was so poorly designed. It's not an engineering problem it's a brain problem, something we were once good at. I love the design and style of this truck and want to keep it alive. But, is it worth it? Can the frame be treated now to secure the trucks foundation? Thanks and Peace 🕊
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HsQ10T_m_I8.htmlsi=Fk6AnMgbHbsdGZuk Spraying it with a rust inhibitor will slow down the process but that will not strengthen it or fix what has already rotted away. Even the frame repair shown above is not going to make it as good as a new frame, or one that has not rusted in the first place. It's a losing battle unfortunately.
I am possibly going to look at one beige 83k one owner look mint in and out...napoli nissan dealer asking 10,850 k plus 700$ tax title reg ..i dont know .,..no warrenty as is ..i will see how it drives and take to my trusted mechanic...some people say no way...if i liked way it drives and mechanic says ok think its a bit over priced..but id like to haggle cheaper..this is stressing me out...lol ..i know they all mark it up a few grand over price to make profit..but u said water pump is / could be biggest issue.. id like to say 9 k or a few hundred over out the door but they probably wont go that low add ur taxes n title .i got 5 k cash and 5 k on credit card 0% purchase offer so car would be outright mine no finance and make my credit payments...and im a chick ..so u know ill feel tackled lol my credit score is 800 so thats not a issue
That price sounds pretty high. Even if it's mint I don't know that I'd pay that much. Keep looking around and see what others are asking for similar ones. If they are all priced the same then I'm wrong lol
@@bennieaust yea I looked it up about a bit over 8 k but way low miles 42 k for one rest are like almost 5-6 k bit over 130 k and over .so that's in mind I'm gonna go way lower n see lol they gonna put up a fight those sharks..maybe 8 k or um 8500..tops I'll go ..and that ain't gonna go with them lmaooo ty...I'll let u know if I get it ..I can fast forward outcome ...highest they go is. 9,500.lol thank u
I got quoted $700 for a pan drop and fill which seemed liked highway robbery. I’ve been thinking about using a siphon for a while now but didn’t see anyone on RU-vid try it until I saw this. Super easy and fast. Thanks for giving me the confidence.
By following this video step by step, I was able to fix the issue. I tested the old one by blowing air into it and it came through the other side proving it was stuck open. After replacing the purge valve, it took a few drives, but the check engine light eventually turned off. Thanks for this video, very helpful!!!
They call it a full plug for a reason. It would be totally acceptable to fill through the dip stick tube as well but it’s quite easy and fast, using the fill plug.
I haven’t done a service on one of those so I would simply recommend following Hyundai’s recommendations on it. My guess is that it requires more frequent changes.
Thank you for this video. I couldnt do the work without it. Driveway mechanic here. Just prefer to work on my own truck when possible. You guys make it possible for us guys. Thanks again sir, I appreciate your tutorial.
Your video was extremely helpful. thank you for taking the time to make this for the community who like me needs to see this. Therefore id like to say that bracket will not be going back on when i put everything back together. Not the best advice i just see it pointless. My truck though so i know where my integrity sits. Thanks again bud! 2021 Ram limited 5.7 Etorque
I would say that fluid still looks horrible. I flush my trans but i definitely dont wait to 60k or even 30k. I do every vehicle at 20k. Fluid is the life blood of transmissions
@bennieaust I do my Chevy truck transmission fluid every 20k. I think people see these service intervals from the manufacturer and say my manual says I can wait till 10k miles to change my oil. Most don't know this is the minimum requires service to maintain the vehicles power train warranty. There is not one manufacturer that I know of that will void the warranty by doing services early. Oil , fluid and coolant is cheap. Components can be expensive
So the specs say that vehicle holds about 10 quarts yet you only added 4?? I'm doing similar job on an earlier model Sorento and just didn't want to overfill. Thanks!
You will be draining off any excess, so you don’t need to be worried about overfilling. If yours is a different generation it may have different qualities. I can assure you if it’s the same generation as the one in this video my quantities are very close.
Thank you so much for this video. My only complaint: looks like you have almost free access to the drain plug. I had to work around about 5 hoses (2014). 😂
I have a relatively small sample, but I have not seen issues with them and they work fantastic. I part out crashed insurance auction TDi Passats on a pretty regular basis and the transmissions are one of the last things to sell. Very low demand which tells me they are reliable. Engines on the other hand, sell immediately for more money than I pay for the cars. Do you work at a shop that sees a lot of DSG failures?
This is a great video. Imagine if everyone who did a review on an electronic item did one this thorough. I love that you really went into detail about each issue you've seen in your many rentals, Bennie. Thanks!
I generally go for the newest one that fits my budget. Having more miles on the newer one will drop the value (great for you, the purchaser) and neither one has many miles on it in my opinion. Hope you enjoy whichever one you end up getting!!
