My OSD Trevoce 12s was Double Boxed too. It's very good and necessary to Protect the subwoofer as who knows what happens shipping it. I even heard the Fed Ex driver saying "Oh Sh**" and a loud boom like he dropped something back of the truck. Easiest way is to cut up the boxes, first outer then inner. No boxes left as cut up but the subwoofer stays Upright position then remove the Foams.
Buyer beware!!! Purchased 5-31, delivered 6-7, on 7-1 new price dropped by $50.00 from my price, Starke declined a price protection saying it was over 30 days? Umm I had/have in my possession for 24 days, so this company counts days when in transit...😳😳😳 Was and am not looking to return and now it's not about the $100.00, but that company and a countdown that starts at the moment of order as per the email I have in my possession. Well I do enjoy the 🔊🔊 I cannot see myself as a future customer due to this completely wrong policy. Too bad 🤷🏻♂️ so again buyer beware.
Thanks for the review. I have been thinking about buying these since their pre-launch release a couple of years ago. Info has been pretty light on them. I just ordered 4 SW15's to stack for the front stage and have 2 Rythmik F18's behind HT seats and 2 Rythmik 12's 1 for each side of the HT seats. Pretty excited to hear how these sound stacked. Nice review and congrats on your purchase. Good Luck on your HT journey and the achievement of your vision.
For my pc setup i have 2 jbl powered monitors and a focusrite audio interface with only 2 wuarter inch trs outputs. Currently have a KRK 8 inch but it has in/out so the crossover is sent directly from sub high pass to monitors. Will this wub allow me to commect everything in/out with out an external crossover?
It's still a solid protector even in 2024, considering no one offers good native contrast other than Sony and JVC which costs way more. Unfortunately newer DLP projectors still suffers from poor native contrast.
Wonderful review, i love my sw15, just ordered another one a couple of days ago before they ran out of inventory, can't wait to hear what 2 of these boys are going to sound like, just curious as 2 what speaker level setting you have yours set on, with 1, i have mine set on 0.0db and 12:00 on the subwoofer itself, but with 2 should i turn the avr level down or keep it as is. Keep up the good work and keep pushing out those videos.
Nice review! I have two SW15s and they unlock a whole new level of performance that I otherwise wouldn't spend the money for. Btw curious to know what center channel speaker stand you have? My screen is at the same height but im using a shoe rack off Amazon 😂
whao this demo really put on work my 4 sub 12 inches and the bass shakers in my sofa 👌. I own Denon X3800H . With my 4 subs I use the Directional bass option , in some specific movies like Jurassic park Dominion I Cn hear first my 2 front subs ,then the bass translate to the left and back side subs on some scene of the movie .for this to work properly you have to put the subs same position as the speaker diagram show when do the calibration
Thank you for watching! I currently have the subs running using a Pioneer Elite receiver so i have very little config options for tuning the subs. That is a neat feature of the x3800 and i am hoping in the future to eventually retire my 7 year old receiver with the Marantz which allow you to tune the subs independently. For me, the most workout the subs got is watching the Oppenheimer movie. There are scenes in there that are constant low frequency rumbles.
@@ATM1896 yeah I had also Pioneer the Elite 505, upgrade to Denon X3800H way up more option but the Pioneer have Dirac Basic for free and better performance for stereo music
I love my sw15, going to get another 1 when it goes back on sale. 2 is better then 1. I picked mine up for $599, then in January i saw it on sale for $499.
It's $499 on Sale now, and you can buy 1 at that price, not the 2 for 1 deal. Sale started right before July 4th or week before. When it's sold out they could raise the price to $549.
Hi, do you think it has more than 50watts if I only use to drive the center channel? I have a 2 channel stereo system and planning on a 3.1. Also does it have a downmix from 5.1 to 3.1 and separate channel gain adjustments (ie. make the center louder). Thanks!
Thank you for watching! So what i would recommend for this receiver is possibly having an external amp to power the Front left and right channels since it has pre-outs for 2 channels. That way, if you have big power-hungry speakers, they are not starved for power. In my current setup, I do not even have a full 5.1 setup. I only have the front LR and Surround LR. No center channel. Even without that, the Front LR does a pretty good job downmixing and simulating a center channel for dialog. You can definitely use Audyssey to adjust the channel levels. I would first do the auto room calibration and then tweak the channel levels as needed to your liking.
You recorded almost the entire video while working on a shaky (unsafe) surface!? This is the cause of most of the bad work you do, and even worse is the potential danger of injury from slipping tools or materials that are not resting on a solid work surface. As for sound absorption, you could save time and money and place an canvas in the desired color on the front side of the frame, it would have the same function of sound absorption, and visually it would look better than the poorly milled holes you made there.
Thanks for watching. I by no means am a carpenter and I mentioned that in the video. I actually have the panels clamped using a c clamp to the stand I was using so it did not move. It was actually my first attempt of trying out this type of slots using the router and it was a challenge. I thought about using a peg board as the cover panel but the holes were just too small. Additionally, I already have absorption panels using a fabric as a cover. These were went to serve as a diffuser and absorption panel at the. Back of the my room hence the slots.
Spot-on review, I have owned D11s for about three years, and they provide exceptional sound quality, better than most floor-standing speakers. I am planning to upgrade to Bowers and Wilkins 702 S3s and move the Def Techs as my surround speakers until I recover from the cost of paying $6k for the B & Ws and can match them with their own brand surround units. They are currently powered by an NAD T778, which I plan to upgrade as well, likely to a Denon flagship unit to push the upgraded speakers. I am looking at both the Denon A1H and X8500HA. Which one do you recommend, or is there another AV receiver that trumps those choices?
Thank you for watching! I definitely agree. They do sound crisp and at the price point of $500 i paid for the pair at the time, they were worth it. Even without the SVS sub i have them paired with, they sound really good solo for music listening as long as it is not bass heavy music. B & W speakers sound nice and wow they are quite expensive but i am sure they will sound fantastic. Typically you want to make sure your speakers are timbre matched but you may be ok having the Def Techs as surrounds since surrounds do not do a whole lot of heavy lifting for the surround mix. Me personally, i am using a Marantz NR 1510 slimline 5.2 receiver which does enough to power the speakers. However, if i were you, i would buy a dedicated amp for the towers so that they are getting enough and clean power instead of trying to power them via the receiver. You can buy a decent receiver that has pre outs and use an external amp like ones made by Emotiva to power the LCR channels and then let the receiver power the rest of the surround speakers you have.
just got an nr1510 for $200. Bought it as a temp receiver. Kind of bummed out bc it doesnt have hdmi 2.1. Might end up upgrading to a cinema 60 in the near future
Thank you for watching! I think $200 for this unit is quite a steal to be honest. Like i mentioned in the review, this is not a powerful receiver and is really mean to power smaller units unless you use an external amp. You are exactly right, it does not have 2.1 which is a bummer because it would be the perfect unit to handle next gen consoles. That may not be a deal breaker because not too many games are using 120hz but i am not an expert in that field. Overall, the unit considering its small form factor is a good unit for small rooms/setups. I believe the entire Marantz lineup is being replaced by the cinema line so the Cinema 60 sounds like a good step up. Check out www.bhphotovideo.com/c/compare/Marantz_NR1510_vs_Marantz_Cinema_70S/BHitems/1478396-REG_1724188-REG As far as power goes, they appear to be identical with the exception of the Cinema 60 allowing 120p pass through via HDMI 2.1
