When zz got married years later shipper fans were angry, i cannot imagine how it would have been if this news got released back then. Then again Jingyu seems to have more unconditional support from his fans and shippers, i think they could accept it with less fuss.

Ok, here we are nearly in 2023 and the comments, particularly from English speaking fans continue. These two have millions of followers globally. I don't think we can appreciate the oppression these two have faced in their own country. This series was ground breaking and quite controversial, hence the ban and their prohibition on even being seen together on the same stage or frame. China is not gay friendly and these two, even now, are trailblazers and pioneers. Their own sexual orientation is almost beside the point. I would love to think that they are a couple themselves and could live openly, even though I know Timmy recently married a woman and has a newborn. I would hope that they remain at least best friends and see each other from time to time. The tabloids in China are vicious and Johnny recently won a lawsuit against one of them that alleged he was secretly married to a former co-star (Dilraba) and they had children together, he beat her, she tried to commit suicide and was hospitalized and on and on. All found to be lies and total fabrications to sell papers. Within the past year, a video collaboration promoting the 2022 Olympics produced by Jackie Chan included Johnny and many performers from both China AND Taiwan, previously unthinkable (search Together for a Shared Future), China does not politically recognize Taiwan as even existing. It is then not unreasonable to think that a movie or a season 2 of Addicted could happen with these two actors in their same roles in 2024, 8 years after season one, just as the novel was written. We can only hope. I agree with all of you, that this whole phenomenon has been historic in its impact.

Timmy xu n johnny huang played really well in their roles in addicted, well performed actors. Hopefully they can maintain their friendships forever even after being keep apart from appearing in more films n shows together. Its the surrounding that created the awkwardness. Wonder why both actors are being blamed for acting too well in d film.
The last part is so touching, I interpret it as he want to say to Timmy, if Timmy choose to be with him, he ready to face any difficulties ahead, if not, he'll never forget their wonderful memories, and in the end if Timmy want to come back with him, he'll welcoming him no matter how long it is 😭

When Johnny said "we met in winter" , I am sure he meant that being the time his first drama was filmed or released, and when his fanbase exploded. He may not be very eloquent but he is sentimental and poetic...and what I like most is he is genuine and lovable. 💖
