Ok, here we are nearly in 2023 and the comments, particularly from English speaking fans continue. These two have millions of followers globally. I don't think we can appreciate the oppression these two have faced in their own country. This series was ground breaking and quite controversial, hence the ban and their prohibition on even being seen together on the same stage or frame. China is not gay friendly and these two, even now, are trailblazers and pioneers. Their own sexual orientation is almost beside the point. I would love to think that they are a couple themselves and could live openly, even though I know Timmy recently married a woman and has a newborn. I would hope that they remain at least best friends and see each other from time to time. The tabloids in China are vicious and Johnny recently won a lawsuit against one of them that alleged he was secretly married to a former co-star (Dilraba) and they had children together, he beat her, she tried to commit suicide and was hospitalized and on and on. All found to be lies and total fabrications to sell papers. Within the past year, a video collaboration promoting the 2022 Olympics produced by Jackie Chan included Johnny and many performers from both China AND Taiwan, previously unthinkable (search Together for a Shared Future), China does not politically recognize Taiwan as even existing. It is then not unreasonable to think that a movie or a season 2 of Addicted could happen with these two actors in their same roles in 2024, 8 years after season one, just as the novel was written.
