Although he didn’t get the chance to respond to Kaori’s confession with words, he does with his music: choosing to never forget. In his/ their final duet (during Kaori’s surgery), Kousei seemingly knows that she’s leaving him into the after life. And as painful as it is for him he chooses to keep playing. He doesn’t stop (even when we expect him to after she’s faded away). He chooses to never forget their love that lives on in the music. I love the selflessness in the lie Kaori told because she isn’t drawing him in further into a love that is doomed from the start. Imagine how much more devastating it would be for Kousei if they were dating. How consumed he would’ve allowed himself to be in her and not his future in the piano.
This might be a bit nitpicky, but the clip at 4:02 isn’t a 4th wall break. Saiki isn’t referring to the episode he’s in; he’s referring to a tv show he wants to get home and watch.
even saikis power where hes medusa isnt consistent, theres an episode where he explains this ability and how normal lenses dont work and other one where he buys another pair of glasses after breaking them which are normal lenses gifted from his grandfather
tbh I brushed off the 3 years rather quickly, to me 26 and 29 really isn't that different but I'm nowhere near those ages so maybe it is a big difference
I was thinking about why a school would give an entire room to one student who doesn't even play the piano anymore. Was the lie necessary? probably not, Was it to protect Kousei from relapsing back into depression? probably
Acsendance of a Bookworm is actually a counter to your claim or maybe just the exception that proves the rule. Her life before was all about books and when she comes the new world she brings knowledge and her desires to read as a driving force. She even has moments where she is trying to hide this fact she came from earth. It's a pretty unique isekai
Yogiri is a psychopath/sociopath without any empathy and remorse as well as a huge hypocrite. He pretends to have some moral code and only use his powers as last resort, but as you said that's just not true. Especially jarring, considering he not only kills but ends the very existence of all these beings. Despite him having so much other possibilities, including (but not limited to) "just" killing them (only ending their current life) or knocking them out (ending their CURRENT consciousness). Fun fact: Yogiri isn't even that strong compared to other fictional universes. There are some huge design flaws if Yogiri really were supposed to beat every other fictional universe. Any proper capital-G God or toon character would mop the floor with him. Also it's quite ironic how Yogiri is said to be above fate and plot, yet he beasically only behaves the way he behaves just in order to make that stupid excuse plot happen at all. If he really just wanted to be home again, all he had to do was to end this stupid plot. So easy.
the point of Yogiri’s character kinda is to be a psychopath. (spoilers for the LN if you care) there’s a moment in one of the last volumes when Mitsuki (who’s basically the main antagonist, but he doesn’t get properly introduced until the 2nd to last volume) does a world-wide announcement that in the short time Yogiri’s been in this other world, he’s killed like 10% of the population. and most the victims weren’t even people who were directly trying to harm him; they were potential threats that had the CHANCE to become hostile (which is a really long story lmao) and all of Yogiri’s current companions (minus Tomochika & Mokomoko) immediately turn on him cause, y’know, he’s a mass murderer. Yogiri feels no remorse because he sees his act as self-defense. it makes the final two volumes really interesting because all of a sudden there’s all these people trying to kill Yogiri cause they have a vendetta against him. Instant Death is FAR from perfect (i know, ive invested way too much time in this story) but the MC’s questionable morals is, imo, one of the things the author executes pretty well. it’s a shame to criticize it.
I definitely needed to rewatch things like Log Horizon, Full Metal Panic, Chihayafuru, and Euphonium when the new seasons came out. I jumped into some others like Tomozaki-kun and Masamune's Revenge and those weren't as bad but definitely took an episode or two to remember what was going on again. As a dub fan, Haikyu is still one I need to get back into. The gap between s3 and s4 getting dubbed was killer and I ended up forgetting most of 1-3 by the time the blu-ray came out. I want to see the new movie in a few weeks but there is no way I am going to catch up by then.
I've made it a mission for myself to finish every show I start, it has meant that I've not had this issue, there are other issues I tend to have because of this. - I have to suffer a bad show to the end - Shows like One Piece, which have 1000+ episodes, will never get watched with this mindset - I how have a list of 100+ anime to still watch
I wish they showed the scene where Kaorie told Tsubaki she liked Watari. Did she just tell her and asked if Tsubaki could introduce them and Karie recomended her bring Watari to her competition or (and a friend) or was Tsubaki the one who started it by asking if Kaori if she had a crush on someome? I beleive it was the latter and Kaori did want to give Arimas name so dhe said Watari because nearly every girl did anyway. since Kaori was sick and knew Tsubaki liked Kousei she wanted to name a guy that would likely forget her in the future. From what I gathered it was Tsubakis choice to ask Kousei to come along so she wouldnt be a 3rd wheel. What if Koisei said no? I think it was all a fluke. We dont know if Kaori suggested to bring a friend and recomended it be "that piano friend of yours " or if it was Tsubaki's idea because she thought it would help him reurn to the piano. In the park scene she introduced kousei as "friend A" and Kaori did not seem excited that the piano prodigy was there. She acted like she did not recognize him at all. It was also a coincidence that watari was unavaileable that day shebwas waiting for him and shebadked Kousei to be his stand in. The begining of the anime could have been handled better. Kaori had an accompanist and that woman couldnt keepnup eith her and so kaori could have gotten anyonenelse. Emi would have been a better choice when Kousei said no. But i think Kaori had an "it is now or never" thought and asked pestered the poor guy into it.
Here’s what actually happened there was a bunch of no doers who kidnapped her and then he saved her, but got tortured because of it because they didn’t know the truth but because of that she fell in love with him for saving her it is called spirit chronicles
