Mr. ISP. You should try playing MAA, Make America Again. It's a fun little wacky mod. Perhaps play as Tucker in West Virginia, or maybe Bernie in the west coast, or Barron in Florida.
Can someone explain to me how Kaiserredux isn't objectively better than kaiserreich in every way? I played Kaiserreich once and never again after redux.
Say what you want about Kaiserredux, I think it's one of the best mods for HOI4. To build off of an already beloved mod, turn it to the extremes and take it seriously is incredibly fun. Almost all nations have a unique focus tree with multiple paths, leading to so much replayability. Whether you're choosing the multiple sane to insane paths for a nation or watching from afar as a different country. I have never had a KX playthrough feel the same. Everytime I load up KX i struggle to pick what nation and path I want to take, and that's awesome. I love when a mod compacts so many new and different submods and ideas and makes it work so well, and the devs are still adding onto an already jam packed mod. KX will forever be in my heart.
but god... OWB.. performance is so bad.... I stopped playing because it became more or less unplayable on my PC. Rise of Nations is quite fun, if one plays historically. i.e. you use scripted peace negotiations and follow historic courses. i.e. you lose when you should lose etc. just a bit better than it really was in history.
Rise of Nations is insane dude. It's whole goal is to add as many start dates as possible throughout history and expand HOI4 from a typical 10-ish years of playtime to hundreds of years of playtime.
Playing a lot of R56, it's not just about the focuses, it's about a lot of other mechanics that vanilla simply doesn't have even with all the dlcs, like more special corps, desert and jungle infantries, and longer tech trees that go all the way to 1956. Btw World Ablaze is definitely worth giving a try. It's a bit more complicated than vanilla, but it's not crazy Bice style.
i played it a bit after watching you and drew a long time ago. but when dlcs started getting exclusive features (not focus trees like mechanics) it was a major turn off. and i stopped playing.
You would love extremis ultimus its in development but the demo is out and it's basically a modern day mos where every country is on the verge of collapse
Developer for Extremis Ultimis here. We're NOT a Warhammer 40K mod, but we do like grimdark edgy bs. We currently have a demo on Steam that doesn't work with the current version of HOI4. Someone made a Redux version that does work, but it's apparently unstable. We're working on a second demo which we hope to have out in the next few months. As for what the mod is about, it's basically Millennium Dawn mixed with a pulp cyberpunk setting. An alternative 2020s where there's things like power armor and supersoldiers running around.
